  1. Saw this yesterday, went in with low expectations based on word of mouth, was very pleasantly surprised. It's nowhere near as bad as all that. I think the main reason it has criticism is that you really need to have watched all the other movies for this one to make sense. It ties things up nicely. Enjoyed it more than Batman vs Superman.

    Random thoughts:

    Spoiler

Wolvie's cameo was awesome action, slicing up half an army base. Weird that he had that visor thing on the whole time, then Jean just slipped it off. Him scampering off into the woods was exactly how I thought 47 year old Hugh Jackman would run. Young Stryker put in a good performance, trying to channel Brian Cox is no easy feat.

New Jean Grey is beautiful, Psylocke is sexy.

Quiksilvers scene in the mansion was fun, but probably a minute too long, but they paid for that Eurythmics song, so they damn well were going to use it in it's entirety.

Xavier's lilac sweater stuck out like a sore thumb, wardrobe fail, he couldn't have been wearing Patrick's suit?

Oscar Isaac definitely not needed, I got an Imhotep vibe from Apocalypse, what's Arnold Vosloo up to anyway?

Jlaw definitely phoned it in, but I will allow it for that dress she was wearing in the Nightcrawler scene.

Magneto's daughter being killed off like that was disappointing, thought she had a cool power, like how they tied it in with Magneto's own story. Loved him destroying Auschwitz.

  2. Don't have time to read the whole thread, so hope it hasn't been mentioned already. Anyone see Cena and Roman being split up to run each brand as the man? Then they can lead to the eventual galactico main event as wrestlemania.

I'd like them to let the tag titles be defended across both rosters along with the women's title. There is enough depth for a women's tag championship as well, could even dip down to NXT to defend them there too.

  3. What I really liked:

Rusev making Kalisto humble with that Accolade.

Jericho dieing for our entertainment on those thumbtacks and the subsequent sell job.

AJ Styles the human rag doll, he made Reigns look like Lesnar that's how good his bumping was.

The fan's Roman's Anoa'ing sign, slightly xenophobic, but genius wordplay nevertheless.

  4. After that main event I'd rather see Charlotte beat the snot out of Stephanie than watch her beat Nattie for the umpteenth time. I'd also rather watch 85 year old Ric Flair out crazy Shane McMahon.

Rusev's Accolade on poor little Kallisto has to be the best one he's ever done. Other than that the best Accolade was the one Summer Rae did on Lana, but for different leg related reasons.

    2. Captain America: Civil War (May 6)
    3. Suicide Squad (Aug 5)
    4. X-Men: Apocalypse (May 27)
    5. Ghostbusters (Jul 15)
    6. Star Trek Beyond (Jul 22)
    7. Warcraft (Jun 10)
    8. Ice Age: Collision Course (Jul 22)

    10. Finding Dory (Jun 17)
    11. The BFG (Jul 1)
    12. The Angry Birds Movie (May 20)
    13. Alice Through The Looking Glass (May 27)
    14. Jason Bourne (Jul 29)
    15. The Conjuring 2 (Jun 10)

My thinking was that ID:R comes out at the perfect time and has that big blockbuster feel and mind numbing special effects that a traditional summer hit always has. Maybe Cap is coming out a tad too early to capitalise on that.

Suicide Squad comes out a full 3 months after any other superhero movie and as we saw with Deadpool more mature rated comic movies have the potential to do well, I think this could be the sleeper of the year. It's going to be heavily marketed during the busiest time of the year for movies.

I think X-Men comes out too close to Cap to do well. Ghostbusters is going to make a sickening amount of money the first week, then drop off a cliff, same with TMNT and Alice and Conjuring.

    RT:

    1. Captain America: Civil War (May 6)
    2. X-Men: Apocalypse (May 27)
    3. The BFG (Jul 1)
    4. Finding Dory (Jun 17)
    5. Suicide Squad (Aug 5)
    6. Ice Age: Collision Course (Jul 22)
    7. Star Trek Beyond (Jul 22)
    8. Independence Day: Resurgence (Jun 24)
    9. Jason Bourne (Jul 29)
    10. Warcraft (Jun 10)
    11. Ghostbusters (Jul 15)
    12. The Conjuring 2 (Jun 10)
    13. The Angry Birds Movie (May 20)
    14. Alice Through The Looking Glass (May 27)
    15. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows (Jun 3)

With this, everyone seems to splurge over Marvel films and it does look enjoyable so I can see Cap being over 90 easily. X-men pre-sequels have been traditionally rated higher than most comic movies.

BFG is the sleeper here as it's another Spielberg adaptation of a childhood memory of mine and a lot of other people. Tintin was ungodly amazing, I expect this to be of the same ilk.

The last 5 movies will all be terrible and deserve to be where they are on the list.

    Tiebreaker: Suicide Squad - 365,000,000.

  6. What's strange about Rusev and Lana now is that a year ago the crowd (men anyway) wanted Lana to turn face and Rusev to stay heel. Now I'd say they would accept Rusev as a face, but not Lana who is now firmly a heel.

Rusev's whole run up to Cena was sublime and I weep for the days where I thought he could have a 25 minute main event match with Brock in his future. Instead he got a 5 minute squash on a house show. I hope he bought a nice house like Shannon Moore.

  7. Spoiler

As I don't read spoilers or wwe.com I was very annoyed about Michael spoiling NXT for me, but I suppose I shouldn't be annoyed as it was a house show result, which is all over the internets now. Still though, it would have been nice to find out from watching NXT...

  8. Samoa Joe is the most pro wrestlingest pro wrestler ever. I don't know what I would do or pay for a competitive Lesnar match, but it would be a lot.

Also I love the ending to Bayley Asuka, the shock in the room is just like Lesnar breaking the streak.
