Sam for Jiri Kulich, Devon Levi and destroying the Leafs is going to overtake the trade that landed us Hasek as the best in Sabres history.

And here I thought I (and everybody else) liked the show despite unadvertised talent who didn't work for the company not being on the card. Good thing you told me that all those tickets being sold for Wembley is actually a bad thing, or I might have ended up liking All In too. Go post about things you like, it will make you happier.

At this point I'm wondering what their step-on-the-gas ticket mover is going to be. I imagine they'll announce it whenever ticket sales stall, but I would imagine the major ones would be a Punk return or one of the three huge Kenny matches you could run (Okada, Ibushi, Ospreay). I entirely expect Saraya vs. Hayter. I am optimistic about ZSJ vs. Danielson. But I'm not entirely sure about the breadth of NJPW involvement so soon after Forbidden Door since they've kind of proven they don't NEED IT for Wembley. I'm more curious where the homegrowns are gonna end up and what still-waiting-to-break-out UK talent will be featured. NXTUK releases on the undercard? That Leon Slater kid somebody told me about getting a tryout? We'll see.

Is it really shocking that WWE creative would have Mansoor being behind the 9/11 Attacks when he was 6?

The big winner here is the guy who pitched Heidenrich as an unfrozen nazi soldier as that is now no longer the most horribly offensive WTF idea a writer has ever pitched (heck, the crocodile hunter idea may have topped it as well).

Oh, "beloved" Valour FC lost to a semi-pro team in the Canadian Championship last night.

I have a bad feeling they are going to end up like the Eddies and go bust. I really hope I am wrong on that.

Bunting's hit deserved a match penalty. Can't believe anyone is trying to defend that.

Jets played great and won game 1 in Vegas last night. Sleepy, but happy at work today.

Remembering that Cernak was the guy who hit Rasmus Dahlin with a vicious elbow to the head and left him laying in a pool of his own blood in Stockholm a few years back I think Bunting deserves a nice box of Timbits and a large double-double for good measure.

Just to get the conversation back on track, its wild to think that Crosby has pretty insane career numbers yet if you could say there is any black mark in his career, its that he never quite became the dominant offensive force he was expected to be. If you told people the day he was drafted that he would be winding up his career with only 2 scoring titles, 2 Hart trophies, and 2 years of 40+ goals, they'd probably say he was a disappointment.

That's obviously not the case and a lot of it has to do with Pittsburgh always sticking spare parts on his lines because of cap issues, but those 4 straight years of sub-90 point seasons during what should have been his prime years (27-30) look especially strange for the best player in the league. I'm curious if those really bad concussion seasons early in his career changed his trajectory? Because the kind of seasons McDavid has been having is what was expected of Sid coming out of Junior.

At his peak, he was unquestionably the best player in the world, but there still is a bit of a what could have been when it comes to Sid.

I have long felt Sid is in some ways just about the most under-rated generational player in the history of the big 4 NA sports leagues. When I see the Pens live one thing that stands out with him is that he is ALWAYS in the correct position. Most of hockey is being in the right place at the right time and he is the best player I have ever seen in that regard. The fact that at close to tail end of his career he is still likely to carry a Mount Trashmore roster with Chad Johnson level goaltending to the playoffs speaks volumes.

I remember years ago them using old black and white footage of marching armies, tanks, bombs exploding etc.  I feel like they might have even thrown in Stalin, Mussolini or a lesser known dictator like Tito in there

It should be fairly easy to figure out where in the chain of command Auschwitz footage got into one of their video packages if they actually investigate it.  They have access to all sorts of general use libraries to cull clips from.  Did it get snuck into one of those as general prison stock footage?  That's the best case for WWE covering their asses.  I think more likely it was deliberate by someone.   Maybe a 4chan chud in their video editing department who thought he'd be cute and snuck it in there for the lulz, much like the people who flash the "WP" and claim plausible deniability.  In either case I do find it easy to believe it could be snuck past whoever in the company watches these videos and approves them before they hit the air.

I doubt we'll ever find out how it really happened and I don't expect much fallout ultimately, but I'm kind of fascinated by this

A general rule of mine is "Don't attribute something to malice that can just as easily be attributed to stupidity".

  8. In the "This Is Fucked Up" department: Right now the suspended match between Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory is being resumed from the point it was abandoned after Victory supporters stormed the pitch and assaulted the City keeper with a flare bucket that left him seriously injured. And to make it even worse is that they allowed Victory supporters in and they are jeering the goalie they assaulted any time he touches the ball. I have no idea how this was not declared a forfeit victory for City. I despise anything to do with any branch of the bloo shit empire but for the only time in my life I am rooting for City to clobber a team.

I just happen to read an old review of one of XPW's shows last night. It's whatever show from 2002 that had the "Raw Sewage" match with the pornstars. When you consider stuff like that, I doubt ANYONE of sound mind and body would want to be in any way connected to him be it in the adult entertainment industry or not.

If you want to be the G.G. Allin of pro wrestling, good for you I guess. However, there are better ways to lose your money than running a pro wrestling promotion.

I want to know how he ended up in the restaurant industry and why any sane person would eat there knowing who owns it? Brings new meaning to the term "Garbage Plate".

schools moving up aren't eligible for their first 4 years, and Merrimack was only in the NEC tourney because the NEC allows teams in their 4th D1 year to be in the tourney. Merrimack is tourney eligible next year.

What is the logic for that rule? If you move up and win your conference you should get the spot your play earned. I would think a team moving up would be at a significant disadvantage so why does that rule exist?

LMAO if Fairly Ridiculous upsets Purdue...

The best part is that they didn't win their conference and got the bid due to the weird rule that a team moving up a level (in this case Merrimack) isn't tourney eligible their first season (which is idiotic and makes no sense).

I'd LOL Mets (Diaz got injured in the celebration), but man, that sucks.

Enjoy the WBC while you can because the risk of something like this is going make the owners reconsider the whole thing. This stupid tournament ended our season before it even began.
