NXT has been having main roster people dabble for awhile though. Last week they drew 857K, they were over 800k on September 12th and 19th and they've been 600-700K lately. So it's a ways from a year ago where the norm was 500-600K.

I doubt anybody will loudly say that going from 857 to 921 "wasn't enough" because of the gap between NXT and AEW... but at the very least, it wasn't a surge where half the audience wasn't watching last week

edit: to expand on the first point... last night wasn't the only time that the WWE had been trying to pop the NXT ratings lately, so last night isn't the ratings equivalent to Brady Anderson hitting 50 HRs and never being that good again

They had Cena and The Undertaker on the show, which is a wee bit bigger than some main roster talent.

I must have been on dozens of shows where that was the case. That was also very well known but he played up the ECW original stuff too. He’d use both as an excuse to do whatever he wanted on shows (which mostly included telling children he fucked their moms and taking tons of liberties with green kids).

That was why he had a long run with CZW correct? Do they bring up the hilarious story where he was booked to win a battle royal in ECW, bragged to people about it and when word got back to Tod Gordon he changed it and had everyone toss him out instantly in a shoot? Will always remember a friend of mine meeting him for the first time and Rebel telling him a Holocaust joke.

    Yeesh, whatta guy...

Also Miami lost for a hilariously stupid reason

Someone needs to be fired for that like what happened after the Miracle At The Meadowlands where the offensive coordinator got sacked the next day.

    Hey, pop quiz hotshots!

What's the difference between a biel, and a Beale?

A biel is a wrestling throw out of the corner, and a Beale is a manager thrown out of Rangers.

7 managers in 11 years of existence!

  5. Sometimes an organization needs to make a difficult decision that is very painful in the short term but incredibly wise long term. Shutting down Joe Burrow and conceding this season is a perfect example of such a thing.

  6. If you didn't understand why people dogpiling on Jack Edwards over the thing with Maroon (and the way Maroon himself handled it) didn't set right with me at all watch the replay of the Sabres-Bruins preseason game from last night. The guy is clearly impaired by a serious medical condition to the point he can barely string together a coherent sentence. I have absolutely no idea how the guy was allowed on air, it was one of the most sad and grotesque things I have ever see.

  7. Odd trivia that popped into my head and I'm trying to answer while sick and unable to fall asleep: how many guys appeared on a WWE, WCW and ECW (not WWECW) PPV and did anyone appear on all those and a TNA and AEW PPV? First one I came up with Terry Funk, Rick Rude, Shane Douglas, Sabu, Dusty Rhodes, Raven and Candido (and the latter five were on TNA shows) and Sabu is the only one I can think of off the top of my head to have been on all 5.

I'm usually not a "if this person doesn't win, I'm gonna be so pissed!" kind of person, but man, I really don't want to see Eddie lose tonight.

Prepare to be disappointed because he isn't beating Claudio until Final Battle in front of a few hundred people at that casino in Vegas or the college arena in Baltimore and a couple of thousand viewers on PPV.

I'm already reading about bombings and now you want me to read about football rivalries, I mean I'm pretty numb to violence but that's asking a bit much 😄

The (in)famous 90's zine Murder Can Be Fun actually did an in depth article on this in the "I Hate Sports" issue.

I haven't the slightest what that is. Google is telling me a security operation?

I'm just digging into the history of this conflict so you have to forgive some ignorance on my part.

It is the derisive name us Celtic supporters have for Rangers. They went bust due to financial improprieties in 2012 and was reformed with the LLC name of Sevco. Celtic= Irish Catholic, Rangers= Protestant Unionists, essentially the Irish Question playing itself out in Scotland. It is among the most violent and heated sporting rivalries on the planet. Google "Old Firm" for the whole story in more detail.
