But really.  Video updates/promos are a really efficient way to get your people (in an off week from doing matches) on tv and keep the audience up to date.

After a couple years at producing shows.   The AEW team seems to really be settling into a house style and I’m here for it.  Sure… they’ll miss a dive here and there.  But overall it’s top notch in presentation.

I agree that video clips/promos are great for including people without matches that week.

They should go with the old Roller Derby announcer trope of saying that they missed that dive, but the only way you can see all the action is by being here live for the AEW action.

Someone who is in the Wrestling business, who tries to get themselves over, instead of putting wrestlers over? Perish the thought.

I remember talking to a couple friends in wrestling who said about another wrestler that "she's always trying to put herself over", my reply was that "she's a wrestler, that's her job".

  3. Regarding MSG; vaccination is required to get in. I've been to one Knicks game and one Rangers game this season. Both were only 80 to 90% full. They are both running some nice discounts. I sat in section 1 for $125 including $25 of free beer, and in section 206 for $100 including $25 of free beer. other people might have used the free vouchers for food, ha ha!

BTY, everyone should go to Gosuke Restaurant on 35th street before any MSG event. JB Angel Istuki Yamazaki is the owner/president and her husband Isami makes the sushi. They are still waiting for liquor license approval. Late January?

Rizin NYE show has some good stuff on it. Semi-finals and finals of the bantamweight GP, plus Souza defends his lightweight title, and Rena in action. Not nearly as exciting as the usual due to talent leaving and the difficulties in bringing over foreign talent, but I'll give it a go.

I think that I will watch the 5-1/2 hr. Fuji TV version over the 9-1/2 hr. Sky Perfect version. I really miss going to my friends house in Niigata to spend NYE with his family.

It's like Lawler invading ECW. You got the since that Lawler the old school, Mid Southern Wrestling Legend that's a Representative of Corporate Wrestling Empire WWF. Cardona is a guy who's dream was WWF. Not Indies, not Japan, not anywhere else. Just him showing up at some "scummy" indy and not some indie with some WWE Alumni headlining is heat alone.

Good for him because I'd never would guess he would go this route. I hope to see more of these longtime WWE system wrestlers take a chance and try to make a living on the indies or overseas. Not just like your super worker types

I got some disbelief on here because I had never seen him before. He was just a name in the Observer to me. He has a great heel run going in GCW.

More good heel heat going on now is Fuck Ohio. That is the perfect amount of wrestling stupidness to make it great. Like really, why should I hate Ohio?

Going to spoiler this in case no one wants or cares to know.

      Reveal hidden contents

NASCAR race in October at Talladega. Reporter is interviewing winner Brandon Brown after the race on live TV when crowd starts chanting "Fuck Joe Biden!". The reporter incorrectly tells the viewers that the crowd is chanting "Let's go Brandon!" instead. From there, it just took off.

I still remember my favorite time of an announcer covering up a vulgar chant. The announcer was Lynn Swann. It was the wonderful USFL. The game featured the Jacksonville Bulls. The fans were going with a bullshit chant after a referee call. Swann said that the fans were supporting the home team with a chant of Bulls Hit.

Those Brandon people are idiots though.

  7. It was so nice that a title match/main event started with enough TV time left for the time limit. I just hate when such matches are advertised and then start with 13 minutes left in the show. I just feel like I wasted my time and was cheated when that happens. This was a throwback to the days of "we have a standby match if there is TV time remaining".

  8. I often think that when wrestlers go free that means that they want to show up to wrestle, but no longer want to go to the dojo every day.

Yukihi is on every OZ Academy show. I imagine that she will still have that. Does anyone know if OZ is in trouble? Only 2 or 3 shows were on GAORA this year. Do they make more with streaming?

NHK BS Premium will be airing a special TV documentary on Antonio Inoki and his battle with his hospitalization. Tanahashi appears. The documentary was produced by NHK and KENSO.

Do you have a date and time? Thanks.

Moolah and Mae Young were both 76 when they wrestled against each other in 1999. I don't know if that's the record, but that would have to be up there.

Lawler was 66 and Funk was 71 when they last wrestled each other in 2015.

I went to a lucha show in Queens NY recently with a tag main event that had Fantasma Sr - 60, Solar - 65, Fuerza Guerrera - 68 and Mascara Ano 2000 - 63.

Sad to see absolutely zero hype for Ryzen 32. Miyuu vs. Rena should be fun and we get the debut of Kitamura and he's fighting a 55yo Nigerian fighter

    edit: JFC

Thanks for reminding me. I will watch it now. Bobby is a 55 year old Nigerian comedian. His gimmick was a gaikokujin making funny mistakes speaking Japanese. I'm not sure who I'm rooting for in that one.

Back to ActWres girl'Z, corona damage and deterioration of profits did them in. Few of their trained women over the years joined Stardom. Probably could pick up at least 2.

GanJo has room, I'm not sure about TJPW because they're capped at a limit budget wise.

If it continues as an entertainment company, some of them could probably stay on doing idol stuff.
