Really good episode of After the Bell this week. The show has gotten much better overall since the edition of Vic Joseph. This week’s guest was Cameron Grimes and I’m sure I’m not alone on here with loving his new character, plus his story is extremely heart wrenching.

The guillotine is the first choke I learned, and therefore the first choke I learned to defend so I've always been pretty confident with my defense. So, one day I decided that I was going try to bait someone with an obvious guillotine opening and try to set up a guard pass, because I thought I was good with my defense. Little did I know that this dude was the fucking guillotine master and he grabbed onto my neck, and twisted my neck at an angle that made me feel like he could have taken my head home and placed it on his fireplace if I didn't tap immediately. It's one of the more unpleasant moments of my entire life. Everything in the world cut off, and the only thing I could think about was getting this man to please let me go. RNCs suck, but you kind of know when you're caught, you're caught. Guillotines are nasty, because you always feel like you can defend it...until you can't and it feels like you're in that scene with the vice from Casino.
I’ve been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over 12 years under Matt Serra and am one of his brown belts. Technique and leverage over everything, angles make strangles as I’ve been taught. I’m only 5’ 8” & 150 pounds and have been told mine is ridiculously tight. Strangles should be blocking or sealing off the carotid arteries and not the windpipe, temple, or jaw.

With that said, anyone who tells you an RNC doesn't attack the windpipe is lying to you. A rear naked choke is so effective, becuase it kind of shuts down everything immediately. If you've been in a triangle choke (which is 100% a blood choke), you can kind of fight it for a second until your brain uses up all the oxygen, a rear naked choke almost makes you panic, because of how immediately you realize you can't do shit but tap or go unconscious. A blood choke makes you feel like your life has a dimmer, and the lights are slowly going out. RNC makes you feel like someone just flipped a switch on your life and now you're struggling in the dark. If that makes sense.
That all depends on who’s applying the hold and how clean you get it on, my guillotine is extremely nasty. Arm out, arm in, mounted, one arm, chin strap, most of them (if hook them clean) get a very quick tap. And it is absolutely a strangle or blood choke. My RNC people are usually slower to tap to, even if it’s on super clean. Triangles are different because usually even when put on quick the person slapping it on will change their angle to tighten it up or pull down on the head as well. These are all strangles. Unless you’re a goon your RNC should be a straight up strangle and not on the wind pipe, if it is, it’s in wrong.

Cattle Mutilation is still my favorite & I always loved shining wizard too. Or when Mauro called Balor’s drop kick the John Woo drop kick. Burning hammer is a ridiculously dope name for the MDK move that it is. Shooting Star Press may be the best name for a top rope move as it just sounds so graceful. Scorpion Death Drop was my favorite name for a move for ages. And I admit a huge fondness for the descriptive nature of GO 2 SLEEP! Also, Welcome to Chicago Mother Fucker.

Roman defending immediately afterwards would be the classic heel move to do and I fully expect them to go that route.

She was on the AEW Unrestricted podcast and I’m almost positive she has either never had a match or maybe had 1. She played college basketball and is I believe a child psychologist and a personal trainer. I remember listening to the podcast thinking, man, I hope she’s training her ass off because they’re giving one hell of a build to someone who has near zero experience let alone a run anywhere.
She has an incredible look, that’s undeniable, her promos fall flat to me because she’s shown nothing to back up anything she says. Training BJJ for the last 12 years has taught me one thing above all else, lots of folks LOOK like they can fight, but they get lost really quick when it’s time to go.
I’m not a big fan of the whole celebrities in wrestling thing, I feel like it demeans and undervalues the years of hard work these women and men put in to learn their craft and get where they are. So this whole thing isn’t my cup of tea. I just hope no one gets hurt and that Jade has been putting in the ring time.-

The Escobar/Kross thing seems so pointless to me, why would he even be interested in Escobar? Especially after his mini confrontation with Edge? Shouldn’t he be more interested in Balor/Dunne/Cole?

1. How in the hell does Pete Dunne not destroy your fingers when he does that?
2. Is Vic Joseph saying “deep cleaning” or “de-cleating?”
The three way tandem of Beth, Barrett, and Joseph is really growing on me.
Goddamn that main event was dope and MSK is tearing it up. I have to give a lot of love for GYV too. I think the NXT tag division is really starting to heat up again and I love it. -

Just watched the first hour of the best of Daniel Bryan in WXW on the network. Good matches, bad commentary, horrible crowds. Still, in the first hour alone I watched him against Marufuji & Hero and the start of a match against Nigel. Reminds me of ROH era American Dragon.

I just finished the podcast a little while ago, such raw and heartbreaking stuff. Amanda Huber is an incredibly strong woman. I’m going over to the Violent Gentlemen site right now to order their Brodie tribute shirt.

Just finished AEW Unrestricted where they had Brodie’s widow Amanda Huber as the guest, that was some raw heartbreaking stuff. Just devastating.

Watched 205 Live for the first time to catch the Dusty Cup matches and was pleasantly surprised to see Nigel on commentary! I’m such a fan of his in and out of the ring. I would prefer him to Barrett on NXT.

Yet another downside to the Peacock switchover, you cannot stream it through the Amazon Firestick and it’s also not available through the LG App Store. I haven’t tried the PlayStation store yet, but so far I can only watch it on my iPhone or iPad. Major downgrade from the Network.
