J'Von/Jasper was good, easily the best match Jasper has had so far. Still, you could see some occasional off moments and it still feels too early for Jasper to be working PLEs. He does quite exude that level of confidence yet compared to guys like Oba and J'Von when they first hit PLEs.
Sol/Izzi was good. Dug Sol hitting the Sol Snatcher on off the ropes opposed to the corner. Makes it just a little less contrived.
Page/Ricky was pretty good. Dug the use of plunder with plenty of spots that made me wince. Was also nice to see them fight backstage for a good portion of the match and make sure it didn't end in the ring. I only wish the Jasper interference played more into the finish to protect Ricky. Still, the man took a lot before he went down.
Oba/Yoshiki delivered even with the Briggs aspect bringing it down a pinch. Hopefully if/when they run it back they get an even bigger crowd to impress.
Jordynne/Blake vs. Jacy/Fallon getting the main event spot was not on my bingo card. Thought they built into something nice here with Blake getting in a solid debut though her striking was lighter than expected. While I understand Blake is technically the biggest star in NXT I do have question giving this the main event spot as it does not necessarily reflect well on the rest of the NXT roster. It also just felt off a its a tv main getting the top billing for a PLE. Still have to admit Blake is definitely over with the NXT crowd so I can understand wanting to keep her presented as that big a star.
Other than complaints about match placement and some preferences in booking I though this was a good show. Nothing was blow away, but every match was good and worth a watch. Ricky/Ethan or Oba/Yoshiki was probably MOTN for me.

I thought it was horrible booking to have Sol do a double Sol Snatcher and not get the victory with it, since IMO it's probably one of the best looking/most /impressive finishers in the entire company.
I would agree if someone kicked out of it. Everyone bought it as the finish and booed Raquel for screwing Sol over. I'm fine with decent heel heat being gathered in a match like this. Sol ain't moving up from NXT soon so she didn't need the actual win here. It was just enough for her to not take the actual loss.

Opening was ok as a setup for the Jimmy/Knight vs. Solo/jC main event.
Alexa vs. Kairi vs. Roxanne vs. Sol was fun. Thought everyone looked decent here for the most part with Sol Ruca getting in a nice showcase.
Street Profits vs. Gacy/Lumis built into something good. Kind of sad to see the Profits second reign end like this, but they really messed the when and how of them getting the belts back. Hopefully Gacy and Lumis can keep p as solid team and get a good reign in. Would be nice if this could lead to a full revitalization of the tag division. The teams are good, but they have overplayed this long feud with the whole division.
Skipped the Jelly Roll/Logan Paul stuff. Don't have a big problem with celeb stuff for big shows. This just doesn't interest me though I hope it goes well.
Black/Truth was decent while it lasted. The post match stuff leading into Black confrontation with Priest backstage was nice. Its good to see Black's character seeing some direction.
Skipped the Tiffany/Trish interview.
Knight/Jimmy vs. Solo/JC was solid. Dug the post match with Jimmy being chased by the MFTs and Knight going down via Bron/Bronson.
Nothing amazing here but a decent-solid go home show for the weekend. Would have preferred one mor ematch though what we got was generally solid all around. Tag titles match was probably MOTN though I enjoyed the 4-way the most. Was nice to see Sol impress in a bigger setting.

Ricky vs. Vanity Project was good. Dug the action and eliminations.
Tavion/Charlie was pretty solid. The towel thrown ending was unexpected but also kind of neat with Tavion unable to counter Charlie's various submissions.
Hendy/Santana vs. High Ryze was decent. Post match beatdown was nice to see. Kind of digging Trick with High Ryze.
Lainey/Kelani was a decent showcase for Reid, and the finish form Kelani was impressive even if not hit clean. Was happy to see thea on the attack post match.
Dug the video with Mutoh and NOAH wrestlers cheering on Inamura.
Hank & Tank vs. Spears/Niko built into something solid.
Skipped the women's summit outside of seeing what names Ava announced for the battle royal.
Nothing super standout though everything was at least solid. The final bits of build for GAB came along nicely here alongside what NXt is offering for Evolution. I wish the ending was something more interesting though it was nice to see it be Evolution focused.

Pity about the robbery but at least none of them were there.
Read a nice article from Charlotte.

The build to this show annoys me as the card is actually pretty solid and should deliver, but its also clear the only match they likely had planned prior was the IC title match and NXT women's title match. The rest feels thrown together. I'm curious how much Liv's injury threw things off. Seems clear the plan was for her and Raquel to defend against the Bellas, but I kind of suspect that was also supposed to intersect with other stories going on.

Opening with Seth and company was a good setup for tonight's story of them trying to get all of the group's enemies out of the way before SNME. Loved Bron's taking the mic to talk shit about Sami. Seth and Heyman's reactions were perfect.
Kairi/Roxanne had some roughness early on but built into a solid match with some decent interest from the crowd by the end. Was pleased to see Kairi get the win and the post match beating lead to an Asuka save. Its good to see Kabuki Warriors back officially.
Sami/Bron was more an angle than match given the pre-match attack by Kross. Honestly all of i and the earlier interview of Sami all came together quite well for a good moment story wise.
Becky's segment with Lyra & Bayley ended on a mostly solid note with Lyra coming out on top. I do like how Lyra has been winning the respect of the crowd more and more throughout this story. Don't see Lyra ever hitting Becky or Bayley levels of overness/success, but it does feel like she is in a better spot now than she was as IC champ prior to this feud.
Jey/Bronson was another more angle than match situation. Not quite as good as earlier but still solid.
EGA/Dragon was a bit rough in early on but good overall. Digging Kaiser in the mask. He wrestles so differently from his norm and Gable's. Will be fun when they have him interact with American Made properly.
The hype vids for Nikki Bella, Stephanie Vaquer, and Io/Rhea were all nice.
Seth/Penta was good though I was a bit annoyed Seth kicked out of Penta's finish. I get that he has more than one but still. Dug the finish with Seth doing that cheap headbutt o the groin. Reminds me of Roman's cheating where it was so simple yet odd how few have gone for it in the past 3 decades or so. Post match strike from Knight was a nice final bit of build for SNME.
Generally not fond of only getting 3 real matches, but I dug the story being told over the night the bs ones and the 3 real matches were all worth catching. Honestly this was a pretty solid episode as a whole.

If Holland is up for the role then I assume its because they are considering the script he wanted that was based around a young James Bond. I think even Holland realizes he is too young looking for traditional Bond.

They are running too many big shows in general, but this one really should have been done later and with much more build. I don't blame any of them for not being happy with how things have gone. They have either been set up to fail or the setup for the show itself has just been handled incompetently. Neither is a good thing regardless.

Tiffany is SO not good on the mic right now.
Honestly her mic work wasn't even the issue here. The whole setup was just weak and uninteresting. Tiffany/Trish is not a big dream match of any sort, and Stratton's current most interesting opponents are locked out (Naomi/briefcase, Jade/Summerslam, Bianca/injured). They clearly fucked up up wasting the Last Woman Standing match on last week's episode and even moreso doing Tiffany/Charlotte at Wrestlemania. Neither needed to happen when they did.
3 hours ago, dogwelder said:Also, they really need to reshuffle the men's tag division up with the draft. Especially if they're having to group all the main teams together in the crappy Wyatt Sicks vortex.
They went so hard on the core 4-5 teams fighting the past 6-8 months that its honestly dragging down even the newer teams like Fraxiom and I guess Andrade/Fenix.
-
Opening with Cody, Orton, and Drew was fine as a setup for Drew/Orton but nothing memorable.
Enjoyed the setup to Alexa and charlotte teaming. The triple threat tag with Secret Hervice and Mia/B-Fab was fine.
Wyatt Sicks vs. Ford/Humberto/Gargano/Sabin was fun. Dug the finish with a scared Gargano running off form the tag as Rowan rose.
The Stratton, Stratus, Jade segment was forgettable. Tiffany/Trish should be solid, but its not a match that particularly excites me. I kind of wish they just waited to do the big Nia/Tiffany grudge match. Would have meant more on a big show like Evolution. Conversely doing Jade/Naomi there after letting the fued get cold the past month or two just feels dumb.
Fraxiom vs. Andrade/Fenix was good though it feels weird to have Fraxiom take their first loss here instead of a rematch with Street Profits.
Jacob/Jimmy vs. Solo/Cobb was solid. Surprised this ended with a clean win for Jacob. Didn't feel necessary given the post match beatdown.
As good as it is to see Smackdown back to two hours this was not the best episode. Wasn't bad or anything, but it also wasn't nearing anything memorable despite decent-solid build for various feuds and and Evolution.

Finished the final three episodes over the past two nights. Thought it was a good finale and good overall.
SpoilerLoved how the Mephisto scenes played out. Was also nice to see this be another series/film where it doesn't quite end all clean when it comes to dealing with magic. Riri giving in to her desire at the end was dark but also felt right given the character they built up for her over the course of the show.

I think that awareness is what bugs me; there was a time when a WWE ratfuck show would feel like they wanted it to mean something more than "here's a free show to keep you from paying for the other guys" and they aren't even doing that. Femi/Inamura is going to rule, Saints and Page will probably have their usual very good match, but this has been farted into the world as Content and the performers deserve better.
Honestly as much as everyone thinks they purposefully counter-programmed it comes across more to me like they either had no idea about All In and gave up as soon as they realized, or they got too good a deal to pass up and said fuck it to NXT. Its not good either way.

Since they are different shows a day apart they can still send ZaRuca for the match, and hopefully they do.

It feels a little more... "adult"? Maybe that's just the passage of time with me because they were always "adult".
They tried to hit a similar mark back then but got censored to hell and back. Its definitely more adult now with the shackles being massively loosened if not completely gone.
The show picks up more or less a few months after the end of the original's series finale

Love Jensen Ackles, but he really doesn't strike me as Bruce in the slightest. He is more a Jason Todd type or maybe a younger Dick or Terry. And is he too old for all of them outside of voice acting.

Wes/Joe was pretty solid. Nice action throughout with Tyson and Tyriek well used for distractions.
Myles/Luca was pretty nice while it lasted. Wouldn't mind seeing this run back in a bigger situation in the future.
Thea/Lainey was pretty decent though the finish could have been stronger. It is a shame to where Thea is currently. She is one of the better women in NXT but doesn't really get treated like it.
ZaRuca vs. Izzi/Tatum was good. ZaRuca was impressive as always, but tatum and Izzi worked much better together than expected and felt like a solid team by the end. The lack of tag titles match at Evolution being mentioned was interesting given these are two of maybe 3 teams currently in NXT after the purges over the last two months. Was happy to see Izzi/Sol set for GAB.
Inamura/Jasper was pretty decent, but it feels like its a pinch early to feature Jasper this strongly as he is still way behind in the compared to others in NXT.
The final segment was decent setup for Jordynne/Blake vs. Jacy/Fallon at GAB. I like that Blake's debut is in a bigger setting.
Nothing blowaway but plenty of decent-solid matches with the women's tag being worth a watch and MOTN. Was good to see the GAB build going strong here though I could have done with a little more for Evolution. Did enjoy the bits with Ricky/Page and the Culling celebrating their win backstage. Solid show.

I liked the Cruise version, but the Ritchson version on Prime feels so much more right. I never even read the books, but the series hits much better.

The opening with Rhea and Io wasn't particularly interesting but did what it needed to do in setting up their match. Thought it would be the direction they would go though I was partially hoping we might get Asuka/Io. I assume Rhea finally gets her big win over Io though I hope Io retains.
Was not sure what to expect from Finn/JD vs. New Day given both teams being heels, but it was nice to see the crowd gradually fully turn on New Day and get behind Judgement Day just to see New Day lose. Thought this ended up pretty good with the crowd getting quite hot by the end. Was surprised to see Finn and JD take this one. I don't hate it as I think they gave the New Day the titles way too later after their turn but it is just a pinch disappointing since this run hasn't been what it could be.
I did like Finn later using his win to push Pearce and Aldis to keep the women's tag belts on Raquel and let Roxanne replace Liv as champ. Roxanne getting the official vote into Judgement Day was nice as well.
Sheamus/Rusev was good though it still feels like Rusev has no real momentum with the crowd.
All the stuff with American Alpha backstage was fun. Its a shame Gable is out though I love that he immediately placed Ivy in charge. Kaiser getting the nod for EGA was surprising. I don't hate or love it though I suppose I'm happy he finally has something to do.
Bayley/Lyra was rough in parts but good. The roughness kind of added to it a pinch as emotions were running hot going into the match. I assume the draw finish means we get a triple threat with Becky. Just curious if its on Evolution or SNME.
Sami/Penta vs. Bron/Bronson was good. Post match went as expected though its nice to still see Jey with high role as he came in for the big save.
The wrestling was good here though 4 matches in this time frame is still too little. Tag titles match was probably MOTN though the other three are worth checking out. The build to SNME an Evolution was in full swing here with some solid matches being set and other general stories moving decently forward. Pretty solid show, arguably even good though the small match count still keeps me from going fully that direction.

Goto's reign was never going to be long so that isn't surprising. Still nice to see him get 4-5 months and the most defenses in the current lineage of the belt.

Not sure Sculdun was in position to do much of anything given it was his money that funded the rebellion. Seeing as how his wife was openly with Perrin at the end I doubt Sculdun got away unscathed. Regardless you could clearly see Perrin was unhappy with Mon gone despite still living his luxurious lifestyle.

Orton/Drew was enjoyable and decent build for the Summerslam tag.
Jimmy/Solo was pretty solid with some nice action and good energy form the crowd. Post match with Jacob coming for revenge was fun.
Dug the Jade/Naomi brawl and Bianca as guest ref announcement.
Seth/Knight was going pretty well until Seth's injury forced a quick finish. Always a shame to see someone hurt though I suppose they have time to wait given MITB.
Gunther/Goldberg honestly overdelivered for me. Thought it ended up pretty fun. Goldberg was sold well as a beast and Gunther had some decent heeling from beginning to end with his actions and reactions. Goldberg doing the sleeper job was a nice surprise as well. I'm curious if this was the plan or a quick change after Seth's injury. Honestly I'm kind of pleased with how it turned out either way. Its nice to see Gunther get a big win like this and Goldberg get in a retirement moment in front of his city. I only wish the weird ass late commercial break didn't happen.
Thought this ended up an enjoyable show. Everything was solid-good and we got a nice final touch for Evolution build that I wasn't expecting.
