Bron Breaker is the second best raw rookie second generation Wrestler on WWE TV. Charlie Dempsey is better.

MLW released a bunch of people from contracts. Including Mance Warner (who had been trying to get out of his deal for months) and Jordan Oliver.

Bad time for Mance as he just got hurt.

Oliver is a guy I'd really want to see in BOSJ or in AEW.  I think he's ready for that stage.

vs. Charlotte at Fastlane 2018 was also 13 minutes. My favorite WWE match of hers, with others being TLC 2019 vs. Natalya (which was close at 12 minutes), and a fun Ronda RAW match that went 11

Just to clarify I believe the referred comment said emerging *drama* queen, so no one took it quite that far at least.

    which ones?

Jay White/Thunder Rosa, Gail Kim for friend.

What the hell? I hope Aoyagi finds out about this.

Jay White was so good that he was on the list just from his rookie year in the Kindergarden Wrestling Federation?

Honestly? While it would suck for tbs title purposes, I would love to see Shida either lose the next match to Nyla by being not medically cleared, or squashed in one-two minutes, followed by another Deeb beatdown/stretching. Give me something like Thunder Rosa-Britt Baker, but instead of tacks and hardcore, something like an "I QUIT" match.

Have Shida do one of her film things as a training montage on destroying Deeb as part of the buildup.

Well, that sucks. This was the first time I'd really got back into ROH since the Adam Pearce days & there's a lot of really exciting stuff on their roster.

New Japan should probably throw money at a bunch of their Mexican guys to get them to move to Japan full-time because boy does their Junior division need the help. And their undercard in general.

I'm most interested in seeing what happens to Josh Woods and Bandido.  Those two are the best they got in terms of long-term prospects.

  6. I'd argue it's everyone's priority in those types of situations.  Also AEW did something just as bad if not worse with Matt Hardy last year.  It is a systemic problem, but I think it's more an industry issue than just a WWE issue.

I honestly don't know with Charlotte, and sometimes a change of scenery can change people as well.  She hasn't done anything to not warrant a chance somewhere else in my eyes though.

Yeah, the AEW TV Universe and the AEW Extended Universe (where things like IMPACT, AAA and New Japan are), they cross over, but you don't need to be a fan of the Extended Universe to grok what's going on in the TV Universe, but if you're a fan of other feds, it doesn't pretend that AEW is the only wrestling fed that matters.

You know, I just thought of something. Imagine Suzuki vs OC. Something like where OC does that hands in his pocket move, and Suzuki looks at him like "What is this shit? Where is the FIGHT?" and starts obliterating him, only to have OC fight back, and win Suzuki's (very grudging) respect.

This was a scheduled match for 2020 WM weekend but COVID.

  8. They announced today with Okada's post-G1 press conference future shows are going to have more matches, so maybe more tags and shorter matches times outside of mains.

Also Okada is asking for the old belt  instead of a contract.  If you want fans to root for Okada, that's one way to do it.  The v4 belt is the biggest babyface in NJPW right now, even more than Tana.

I don't think that I've said this here before, but I really think the performer who most benefitted from becoming a weekly character on AEW was Hangman. I always thought he was a guy with a good look (maybe too much of a pretty boy to be a "Hangman") and a bunch of cool moves. But being featured in disjointed ROH TV, he was just....lacking. Saw him wrestle live a few times and thought he was a great athlete but I didn't really care about him. And now I pop like a schoolgirl at a Ricky Martin concert for him (props to whoever gets that reference lol). I'm really looking forward to see his eventual triumph, and how he's booked as a face champion.

NJPW helped him out as well, he slowly developed a character a bit over there, though AEW gave him the chance to flesh it out fully.   I wonder how NJPW Hangman would have turned out- prob ended up Tanahashi's protoge

Painmaker was fine vs Darby.  I kinda saw Painmaker back then as NJPW Jericho instead of AEW Jericho, so him going rougher on Darby made sense given Darby got in his business.  I don't see Jericho as a credible deathmatch guy, though he surprised me there.  Then again, even Flair did a solid deathmatch a couple of times.

Knox was perfect in PWG where the rules in tag matches aren't really enforced nor expected to be enforced. When he actually has to pretend to care, yeah... He's struggled. The subplot of him being a low key Bucks scrooge is at least funny and convincing enough.

Knox was fine in LU as well, but the rules were cared about even less there.

Gimme Leyla Hirsch in the IC to counter Paige VanZant and ATT. 5v5 mixed tag at Full Gear.

Rosa would be better choice.  I'm not sure Leyla could lead Paige around.  Rosa and Emi are the best carriers in the women's division.

I do want to see PVZ try her hand at this though.

I am immediately worried about the outcome of the Hangman/Omega match based on the Title Eliminator brackets.

On the one hand, you’ve got the 2 year story with Omega and Hangman and it’s built up to this moment. On the other, you’ve got the new story of Danielson wanting to see who the best is between him and Omega. I know Danielson is the shiny new toy and a big star, but even he said the reaction last week was bigger than his pop or Punk. So, which way do you go? Or do they swerve and go with a heel Mox versus newly crowned champion Hangman?

You wouldn't even have to turn Mox long-term heel.  Just have Mox see Hangman as an unworthy champion, not mentally tough enough, and leads to a battle for respect in a hardcore match.  Ends with a handshake and Mox goes back face.

Beating Omega makes you champ.  Beating Mox makes you in AEW.

I loved Bryan vs MiSu. Right up there with WALTER vs Dragunov and Ishii vs Moose in my personal MOTY list. For me, the best thing was that the crowd was not hot at all for the two opening matches (even though Fish v Moriarty was excellent and the always-wonderful Tay Conti was in the opener) but then Danielson and Suzuki drew them in 100 percent using only strike exchanges, mat work, and character work.

I get that there are people who are philosophically opposed to strike exchanges on principle… but THAT is how they should be done. They were obviously dancing the dance and responding to the crowd, and they really worked those exchanges for all they were worth. Real, actual, pro wrestling in action right there.

    Loved it.

Really enjoyed Sydal vs Punk and Bunny vs Soho as well. My nitpick of the week is that they followed up a “skin of his teeth” match with a “skin of her teeth match” which is a pretty minor nit.

Safe to say the ring rust is off of Punk now?

Bunny is a really good heel.

It was funny that the worst aspect of Dos Santos in the ring was his punches. Presumably, he was being too careful to avoid actually hurting Jericho. I popped for how happy he looked just before hitting the powerslam.

I’m still enjoying the ATT stuff, and the sing alongs…

I think if someone doesn’t enjoy Lambert’s angry grandpa act, there’s a pretty good chance that they are an angry pro wrestling grandpa.

Awesome two hours of pro wrestling action.

Maybe the best thing, as @Matt D pointed out above, is how Suzuki drew something out of Bryan that we haven’t seen from him recently. That was great.

Well. given what MOTY did to Archer, Minoru might not be happy with Lambert himself.    You don't get angrier wrestling grandpa than Minoru Suzuki.

Yes. Love #FTR. #FTR are due a long reign with the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Bullshit the first reign was so short. Best tag team in wrestling. #FTR over the Young Bucks by far.

I suspect this is going to be the Bret vs Shaun of modern day tag wrestling.  I'm team Bret as I was in the early 90s.

Productions is definitely one of the factions. Honestly I'd switch some of them with AEW's... how about some of that Forbidden Door shit with ROH, Tony? ROOSH and Dragon Lee vs. Lucha Brothers?

EDIT: That has probably happened more times than I can count.

I'd want Josh Woods stretching Sammy.

I don't understand the need for a trios title. Has there ever been a good trios title in mainstream American wrestling? If much prefer something like a young lions type title so guys like Dante Martin can do more than get killed every week.

LU's trios title was pretty good.

WCCW 6-man was good due to VE's/Freebirds

ROH 6-man is a tertiary belt, but at least isn't useless.

Also, I can't wait for the epic Omega/Callis freak out about how Page can't get the title match because of losing the elimination match a few months ago. (Will this be the first thing they go back on a stipulation like that?)

The stipulation was he loses his title shot, not that he could never challenge.

The never challenge stip was for the Dark Order and tag belts, and only applied to Bucks.
