Hiroshi Tanahashi notices what a dickhead Jay White is. Tanahashi, Kazuchika Okada, Tetsuya Naito, Kota Ibushi and Zack Sabre Jr are the five NJPW I want to see debut the most in AEW, especially Okada/Tanahashi.

He started using those with his 2nd Tanahashi feud from what I remember.   While ZSJ was my favorite Tana opponent, Jay was a close 2nd.

And Trent is mega underrated.  Trent/Juice for IWGP US is the best singles match i've ever seen live.

I have not been exposed to Trent aside from his short stint as a teacher's pet, but more I see him in AEW the more impressed I am. Looking forward to finally seeing what the Jay White hype is all about!

I got to see Trent's highest profile NJPW singles match live vs Juice back in 2018  Absolute banger for IWGP US belt.

In what world am I looking forward to Trent? vs. Knife Pervert more than a Danielson match? One of the two probably starts the level for STIFF and the next one tries to top it. Red and purple chests all around!

Trent is one of the most underrated guys in the world, and Switch is the real best in the world.  I am expecting greatness.

I do believe this to be a two-way street. Some people really are yes-sir worker bees who aren't adept at coming up with their own material but will sell the hell out of what you give them. This is really noticeable with a lot of ex-Lucha Underground talent. Penta, Jack n Angelico, Brian Cage, all noticeably lesser than what they were. I'm mildly prepared to feel this way about the UE guys...

Windham... I do not know what "ring shape" looks like for him, and I'm not sure he's currently in it. If he's given some creative leeway I fear he might get lost in his own sauce a la Matt Hardy or Chris Jericho. Hell, he might become the sauce. But I understand his upside.

When you think about it, AEW not being a good place for "worker bees" makes perfect sense.  If you look at the founders of AEW, they're all pretty creative, very ambitious outside-the-box thinkers

Omega: really legit wanted to revolutionize wrestling, and took crazy steps to do it, often annoying traditionalists.  This is why Tana/Omega was so great.

Bucks: they self-marketed themselves into millionaires largely off the indies

Cody: The guy was  one of the first to spurn WWE and make it work for himself in a big way.

Jericho: had to get himself over in WCW, had to do it again and again in WWE

I suspect AEW was formed to be a good breeding ground for the next crop of stars similar to the founders, and not for the Angelicos and Brian Cages of the world.

This doesn't seem to be the case as much with the women, who tend to get produced a lot more, and there are a lot more projects among the women. Also, the joshis are having a tough time.  Shida has mentioned struggling, Emi Sakura has struggled to get airtime.

  5. Ospreay gives you trainwreck promos and great matches all in one.

AEW Ospreay would probably have to go back to his old theme though, which sucks because I loved Ospreay's new one more.

Man, what a lot of Killer Kross hate.  Honestly prefer him over Gargano, Osprey or Swerve. He could be a decent signing. Decent in the ring, looks menacing. Not a ppv headliner, but a nice challenger for an aew champ on TV. Dont have him aligned with House of Black.

Fir me Ospreay > Swerve > nothing  >  Gargano > more Brandi Rhodes airtime > Kross.

Keith Lee is someone I won't object to, but I think he'd be best on a short term deal as a monster of the month for Hangman.\

The guys who would excite me

Johnny Elite and Taya coming in and reforming the Worldwide Underground.

    Jay White

Zack Sabre Jr.  (apparently he's a free agent right now, though no reason to believe he won't re-sign with NJPW)

    Bandido

Ali (no way that happens, and it would be bad business,  but it would excite me)

His contract was up, wasn't it? I think I sawr as much on twitter. Can't be wrong. Is Jay tied down to NJPW long-term?

Juice was My Guy back in 2017/18. Incredible, sincere babyface fire in both his in-ring work and promos. That's incredibly hard to find in modern pro wrestling. One of the best sellers in wrestling too. Seems like he kinda hit the glass ceiling in NJPW after I stopped watching, or am I wrong?

NJPW sacrificed Juice on the altar of Mox.  If Juice is coming in, I'd actually consider having him go after Mox and Eddie and being heel for a bit.  Maybe even align with Jericho.

Is Taichi injury plagued right now?  I thought he held up pretty well, all those years of stalling and stooging probably helped his longevity.

Jay White sounds like a way better addition to the roster than Jeff Hardy or Ali. Can't see many people who would stand alone like he could. Can't see him getting along with anyone really, and it wouldn't affect his confidence.

The only issue with Jay is that he'd make MJF look mid by comparison.  Jay is absolutely the most valuable commodity in wrestling, fantastic worker, fantastic promo, great person, can work any style.

For AEW, he'd be even more valuable- he has history with Hangman, Kenny, and Mox.   Jay/Page was the Lollapalozza blow-up match for both of them back in 2018.

  9. PVZ was over a bit earlier when ATT was messing with Jericho, and she sold at least 2 pink one-piece tracksuits to folks I know.

Pro wrestling if she commits to it might be her best career option.  I'm curious how it turns out- hopefully she murders Brandi.

  10. Giving props to Kidd Bandit.  For someone with only 70 matches, they seemed to have a solid grasp of psychology from what I saw.  After getting tagged back it after getting beat up, they weren't so anime, but managed to show spunkiness in spite of it.

I suspect they'll be signed this year either be AEW or NJPW (know they did a tryout camp for LA Dojo recently)

I find it really interesting that Ronda has a commitment to being a "striker" in WWE when trying to be a striker is what ended her UFC career.

Ronda copying Minoru Suzuki in this way?  I feel almost sacrifiligeous saying this.

Far from it, but PURE evil, I assure you! Just the other day, he convinced a moderator of a recently popular subreddit, that a live TV interview with real mainstream news outlet would be a fantastic idea. As it turns out, nope! One should be very wary of inviting evil such as that into their presence!

    antiwork reference?

Danhausen just needs to make people love that Danhausen and not be in the ring too much.

  13. Ethan Page is getting a lot of credit for his punches, and they did look good.  Is that normal for him, or did he just step it up last night?

Never thought of him as a good puncher- I thought only Dustin (and somewhat Cody) threw really good punches.

WaitWAITwait.  Trent Berretta is the best wrestler in AEW?  Huh.  Who knew?  That match almost overdelivered as much as the Anna J/Jade Cargill MIRACLE MATCH.  The key to Trent being awesome is how good his elbowing Nick in the head looked.  Such a NOAH match.  I await the Trnet/Bobby Fish match.  Jon Moxley as the new Stone Cold is pretty great.  Ethan Page was awesome as usual.  HOOK!  YAY! AEW RULES!

Trent's super underrated.  Been saying that ever since his IWGP US match vs Juice which was the 2nd best match I've ever seen in person.
