  1. Trent with a huge win! That was a good match.

Anna Jay had that one opportunity to take Jade out with that choke and she almost made it count.

Jungle Boy is a damn good promo for someone who's supposedly a bad promo!

Ok, so Marshall will be getting suplexed each time Hook is out there, right?

Rosa-Martinez should kick a decent amount of ass!

Moxley looked good. Danielson and Mox have a history. This shoud be interesting.

Ok, did some of you flash "The Natural" sign on camera during the opening match?

Close. He said Moxley should apologise to fans for missing shows (because he was in rehab).

Yeah, I don't know, Bully. Maybe he can just, you know, stay alive and be able to keep wrestling (and living his family life) and MAYBE make up for those missed shows by making the shows at the end of his active career, that likely has been extended somewhat now, by his decision to enter rehab?

Honestly, one would hope that this is some stupid attempt at setting up an angle, as many have suggested, since if he really meant what he said, I don't know what to tell ya! Holy crap!

Rocky Romero has COVID so that match has turned into Nick Jackson vs Trent Beretta.

Ok, so I haven't been able to establish any nostalgia for 2015-17 NJPW, but I saw the footage for the match and got all excited. This sucks!

  4. This was the first time I've actually heard a Cody promo in AEW other the promos before and after the Dustin match, but there was plenty going on. At face value, I think I can see where he is going with this, but I can't really tell if he's trolololling or not. What I can tell, however, is the load of BS with the "I was talking about all of you!" Cut the crap, Cody! You weren't talking about me! You don't even KNOW me! I just got here!

This was a thrilling episode, even if the wrestling isn't exactly what I was expecting, considering the hype I keep reading each week. Plenty of good stuff story-wise, however.

And father time eventually took care of your example there, Gordlow.

  6. Alright, I think I'll stop this week's workouts at 3, since my right trap and the right side of my neck is so jammed that I have trouble moving properly. I can feel the problem area pretty clearly, and am working on it with every trick in the book during the nightshift.

Not much of note on the workouts themselves, but the trapbar yesterday was 3x394 (without Versas), 3×460, 3x471, 3x493, 4x449.

    Monday's bench was following: 3×154, 5x220, 5x253, 3x275, 1x286, 1x297, 3x275, 3×264, 7x242, 11x220, 18x154.

Sunday was just light but intense upperbody pump and I was supposed to get one more workout in tomorrow, but it seems like rest and recovery is the way to go right now.

  7. Today, I watched the Rampage in which four women apparently self-mutilatied themselves and sent the (different from WWE) business back into middle ages. I thought it was awesome. Before seeing it, I read that there was a spot involving a split and tumbtacks. Seeing her entrance, I was certain that it would be Penelope taking it. I surprised that it was, in fact, The Bunny. So, they can both do splits? Amazing.

Also, I watched the one with FTR vs Lucha Bros for the tag titles. Damn, I thought that Lucha Bros were supposed to be pretty much the best thing ever, but thus far, I'm not sure about that.

Earlier in the week, I watched Page-Danielson I, albeit while cooking, but that certainly didn't seem like 60 minutes. The action kept going and it was not like some Iron Man matches over the years. I probably need to watch it again and maybe watch the rematch again straight afterwards.

I think this is pretty much why you want to stay away angles involving race, sexuality or gender identity (like having a Fallon Fox story for Nyla Rose). Shows like Law and Order can do "ripped from the headlines" type content but wrestling works in broad strokes, heros and villains. As a medium I just feel it lacks the nuance and subtlety to convey things that complex

And then, there's the fan base. Even if you do everything as respectfully as possible, there's no real guarantee that the audience will give you the reaction you were hoping for. The old ten foot pole-rule is a good one, when it comes to wrestling and these sort of angles.

I mean, Ring Kampf has a word from the title of the most infamous Nazi book in it, but I guess I can't throw stones at people using perfectly innocent German words and trusting that context will mean everyone knows they refute the principles of National Socialism that have sometimes been associated with those words.

But wasn't Lord of the RINGs more like an Anti-Nazi book than the other way around? Unless, you mean the other...Oh! Ok.

There’s probably some nationalities where Walter would have the exact same gimmick and not come off like the descendent of a war criminal, so some of that is probably more about the famous in America post-WW2 Austrians having some familial ties to Nazis. Except for Falco?

Speaking of Falco, this thing with WALTER could  only be redeemed if he entered the ring to a symphonic metal version of Rock Me Amadeus after the name change.

Honestly, I don't think so. I think it worked for Kofi Kingston because he already had that decade+ year in WWE at that point and times where he got close to tasting the main event level, but never broke through the glass ceiling. It was just one of those weird perfect storms that worked out in his favor somehow, despite WWE. Also, Ali was put in a WWE title match the following month anyway. I think Kofi-Mania happened because it was Kofi.

And Kofi became so hot for a bit there that people who were cheering Ali on before his injury, were actually booing him a bit when he was added to that one title match before Mania. He was being booed, because he wasn't Kofi on that particular night.

  12. I watched the Rampage episode with Pac vs Andrade 2 on it last night. This got me thinking two things: One, I've missed the intensity of PAC so much! And two, does anyone know if his parents are still alive? What are the odds of them tying the knot this late in the game and legitimize PAC's status, so he wouldn't have to be a bastard anymore?

I very much enjoy Selena+Chef. I find watching Selena Gomez learning how to cook remotely from various chefs relaxing and enjoyable. Your mileage may vary depending on how much you like 1) Selena Gomez, 2) cooking shows, or 3) watching people struggling at cooking.

Well, I do like cooking and Selena Gomez, should I give it a go? TBH, I mostly know Selena from voice acting on Hotel Transylvania movies, but she was fun on those. Maybe I could get some pointers, although cooking shows haven't been something I gravitate towards. I have, however, watched shows that are more about eating, and those do usually involve showing and explaining the process of prepairing the dishes the host(s) end up consuming.

Anyway, thank you all for the suggestions. Some of them I'm already somewhat familiar with, others I know by name and more than a few I hear mentioned for the first time. Curb Your what? ...just kidding.
