Yeah it seemed like Jack was pretty fucking popular here and elsewhere up until the gimmick change and the unfortunate shit with Punk and Wembley. The way certain people have acted like he's been garbage the entire time is kind of hilarious.

Granted, it was mostly due to Baltimora and the idea of a Luchasaurus that made Jungle Boy one of my biggest favorites in all of AEW, but I was definitely aboard that (jurassic) express! Once he turned, I pretty much hated him as much as I used to like him as a face.

  2. That PPV, tho! I'd be hard pressed to find a more satisfying farewell match that I can remember.

Also, Eddie vs Danielson was a war!

Roddy vs OC was good, very good, but I didn't care much. Surprised it was clean.

FTR vs BCC ruled, very strong win for BCC in the end, though. Obviously they are number 1 contenders after that.

Women's match was decent. It went about as I thought it would.

Ospreay vs Takeshita was amazing. Loved it. Ospreay vs Fletcher should rock as well.

The title 3-way was very good. Interesting ending.

Main event was insane. Punk can cry another river after that one!

Great stuff. Haven't watched Zero Hour yet.

Hopefully it's just that you're turning into Ric Flair!  No bruising is usually a good sign, but elaborate on "particularly painful" - is it not at all painful to the touch unless you really press on it?  Do you have any night sweats lately?  Or bruising elsewhere (like lower leg)?  And no, no "back hernia" - that's intestine-specific, and you don't have anything up that high that would go through the muscle wall without other problems.

I remember seeing a really weird lump on Superfly Snuka's lower back, back in the day. It kinda looks like that, but way higher.

During the day, I don't feel it at all, and if I touch the lump it feels similar how a jammed muscle feels, but not painful even if I put pressure on it. It feels solid, not mushy. Uncomfortable at worst, not painful. But it's really fucking weird and certainly not anything that is supposed to be there. My friend is a doctor, I'll let him have a look at it, if it doesn't start to subside next week.

No bruising, anywhere. No any bigger night sweats than usual, in fact, not much at all, recently. I do get those, every now and again, though.

I was also interested in Valentine/Garvin and they had a whole feud. Shouldn't I know about that? Why is that a blank spot? Is it because it was in WWF?

The feud was stupid, the blow-off match at Royal Rumble'90 was a F'n classic, especially given the time and the place. If you get the chance, check it out.

  5. @HarryArchieGus I was going to say that what Eddie has gone through has been a pretty awesome story. I will most likely go to my grave thinking that when Eddie said to Mox that he will win the AEW title, bring it to her mother and say "This is why you don't have any grandchildren!" is the greatest line I have ever heard in wrestling! And he lost. And he lost some more. Until he clawed his way back and won and won some more, until it seemed to all collapse, but he pulled back and won everything, even over the guy who denied it the last time! That's pretty satisfying, eventhough it took a long ass while to get there!

for the record @Shartnado, Hungry For You is the song that's in French that the Police released.

The 'desert theme' song, I think is Desert Rose:

(also, all the Police/Sting/U2/Edge talk makes me immeasurably happy)

Ok, so maybe I was wrong about that one. I appreciate the response, I think this one isn't it, either, but it's still better than most Sting songs that I was aware of until now, so it's still a major win!

Also, how does Dolfan feel about New Year's Day by U2?

...edit: I checked, and the song by Sting I was referring to was "Mad About You", not "Hungry For You". Now I know.

We're getting back into those glory days of "I have no idea what he's saying but I understand what's happening" now that Will Osprey is here.

    Bruv!

...But his entrance theme has given me some insane results in the gym recently, so I will always appreciate the hell out of that!

  8. I love long term storytelling, but wrestling is not great at actually finishing the story and clearly moving on. I also love character development, but that's also pretty hard when the so called top promotion has been a plaything for the owner's perversions for god knows how long. That is the thing that AEW could really shine in, if they wanted to. Long term story telling with clear and satisfying character development. Combine that with strong intra-match logic and plenty of head-drops, flips and poison ranas and you would have me for life. Just saying. At this point, you probably already do, anyway, but still it would be nice. Thanks.

  9. Took my shirt off and noticed a lump on the left side of my upper back that hasn't been there before and certainly isn't supposed to be there, either. It isn't particularly painful, nor is it gooey. Need to keep an eye on it, but it hasn't become any smaller in the few days I've been aware of it. There is no bruising around it, or anything. So, it could be a boil (there is no head as of yet), it could be an inflammation, or a hernia-like injury (is that even possible on your upper back?) If it's a tumor, that would be so my luck, but what the hell, I've had a good run!

  10. Ok, so Revolution has a tradition of multi man matches, but I'm a bit bummed about Meat Madness being expanded into a decidedly less meaty options. Even with the additions, the only guys with a shot at winning are still Hobbs and Wardlow. But if scramble means elimination style one on one matches until only one remains (I'm not sure if that's the case?) that could make for a better match than just another big man 3-way.

Far more true for Dax than Cash, I thought. Especially when Cash was in there with Mox. Cash wrestles like a guy about to be in a road rage incident.

    I wonder why that is?

In any case, I really, really liked the trios match and during Cash being in there with Mox, I was thinking he's another one of those short, but strong and agile explosive wrestlers in PAC vein and would love to see those two go batshit against one another!

Will Ospreay isn't a guy that should be booked to outsmart people. He's a dumb guy. He's like Davey Boy dumb.

That was pretty obvious when he said he lost his luggage on the way to US. He probably just let go of the handle, got confused and then grabbed it again and was like "phew, I  found it!"

That being said, dumb or not, I can see people cheering for him making him do things that will go against the wishes of Callis. He's not outsmarting anyone, rather kinda outdumbing them by accident.

  13. During the Death Triangle vs FTR feud a few years back, was there ever a PAC vs Cash Wheeler singles match? I know PAC and Dax had a highly praised match back then, but watching the FTR&Eddie  vs BCC made me think I'd REALLY want to see those two go at it!

    I don't know how we'd get there, but I'd love a Darby/Brody King team.

You don't have much trust in Brody's coffin droppin' abilities, I see? I'm pretty sure he'd do surprisingly well in that department, the crazy bastard.

Also, if they go to the traditional tournament route, I could see Young Bucks angling their way into the semi-finals, when some team gets taken out (by Young Bucks, who aren't in the original line-up, but because EVPs, now they are) In this case, it could be Kings of the Black Throne, and somehow, Brody could then take Darby's original partner's place (I guess also taken out by Bucks, trying to make the finals 2 on 1) and thus the unlikely team is born?

You can do a tournament for the vacant AEW World Tag Team Championship later.

Or a competition where people do the craziest coffin drops they dare and the one who can still get up after the biggest one they do will be Darby's new partner.
