  1. Fightful is now confirming Daniel Bryan has signed with AEW
  2. I'm just gonna ask in this way, is NXT supposed to be canon to the WWE Universe or not? Because the way booking seems, there's no consistency through any of the programs which begs the question of how they plan to become "Marvel esque". You have people like WALTER (as you mentioned) who was eliminated in 2 minutes from the Survivor Series match back in 2019(?) I think it was. Why do they continue to do these things? The only rational answer I can think of is Vince has no idea what goes on outside of RAW and SD. He might barely even remember what happened last week.
  3. I'd be more concerned with what Darby does OUTSIDE of the ring. That guy is like the 2021 version of Johnny Knoxville - so maybe that's why I gravitate towards his act so much. Most of us grew up in the Jackass era and from his social media, that seems to be the type of a guy he is. Eddie Kingston is a guy that I'll be honest, I knew his name but had never seen him work really let alone cut a promo before AEW. Now, he's in my top 3 favorite acts in wrestling right now. Yeah he's 39 and yeah it would've been nice if he had those 10 years, but think about his story. This is a guy who wasn't even in AEW a little over a year ago. It was a pandemic Cody Rhodes open challenge that brought Eddie Kingston to AEW and that one performance alone gave him what he has now. I mean, the guy was in a PPV main event for the title not too long after that. I'm just happy AEW came into existence so people like Eddie Kingston could get the shot that they so clearly deserved.
  4. I like John Deere, I mean John Cena's new color scheme. Either that or he's a huge Packers fan.
  5. One of my pet peeves of modern day WWE is that if you watch the Royal Rumble and RAW next to each other they look exactly the same. Same set, same design, everything is the same except the branding. That's how Money in the Bank is tonight, it's the same giant set from SmackDown! but with ladders on the stage. Add on that everything needs to be LED from the ring posts to the ring apron, to the entire set. Yuck. Here's another few of my favorite sets. Royal Rumble 2006 WrestleMania 33 (Let's be honest, a fucking roller coaster for a set is pretty sick)
  6. Last time Omega and Jay White wrestled - didn't Cody and Hangman attack Kenny? Leading to the save from Kota Ibushi? Now I'm not saying that Cody somehow ties into all of this, buttttttt.... the layers to this story peel back like a god damn onion. I'm serious, just when you think you may have the story figured out, there's another layer underneath.
  7. Cagematch confirms that their last match prior to tonight was May 20th's episode of Impact where they lost the Impact Tag Team championship to VBD. Finlay hasn't wrestled in any promotion since then and Juice had wrestled once against nZo at a NEW show. So looks like they just disappeared. HOWEVER, New Japan tweeted out
  8. SRS reporting that FinnJuice came out to attack Switchblade before White hit his finish on Juice and ducked out.
  9. Haven't seen this so cheers for sharing! Checking this out now
  10. Man I am so happy that this is a topic. Wrestling sets were one of my favorite things as a kid - waiting to see what the PPV set would look like (or if I couldn't afford the PPV tuning into Sunday Night HEAT for a glimpse at it) was always fun. I'll throw a couple of my favorite ones in here. King of the Ring 2001 WrestleMania X8 Raw is War (I prefer this one with the towers on the sides and just the banners vs. when it got all flashy and screens)
  11. What I say may feel like a stretch, but that Arthur Ashe show may be one of the hottest TV wrestling shows ever. 4x the capacity of this past weeks show - and if the rabid AEW fans come out in NYC, in THAT venue? Mannnn, imagine the heat on an MJF from 16k fans or PnP winning the straps or Eddie Kingston knocking off Miro. GIVE IT ALL TO ME.
  12. Do they though? PPV's will be destination events no matter what. Throw All Out in any arena and it'll more than likely sell out. Throw Dynamites in unique venues like this and you have ANOTHER must see event.
  13. Dynamite Rating: 1.025 MILLION Edit- Good fuckin show to break a million on too eh? Probably one of the best Dynamites ever and one of the best wrestling TV shows in how long?
  14. I don't know if it would be possible at all but maybe Amanda Nunez or Jorge Masvidal judging by last Wednesday's show? Ehh Dana probably wouldn't go for it so I doubt it. Then again they did leave that door opened with Shaq ditching the ambulance and disappearing since.
  15. I'm surprised nobody brought up Karl Anderson paying homage to Owen Hart/Stone Cold with that NASTY looking sit out tombstone. I thought Mox had a broken neck at first. Is next week where he drops the US title? I wouldn't mind Archer getting it since tbh I feel he's kinda fallen out of favor since Miro arrived. This would be a great shot in the arm for him and the story writes itself.
  16. Fantasy booking for the elimination style match from me sees the Dark Order clean sweep the Elite and bring it down to a 5v1. Kenny vs Everybody and instead of eating a pinfall he turns and runs away losing via count out - saving the pinfall for All Out. Perfect chicken shit heel move. Then at All Out I have the Bucks retaining over Dark Order (so they can lose to PnP in Arthur Ashe) and Hangman winning the title from Omega to send the fans home happy.
  17. What an absolute great show. To point out the obvious, this just goes to show how important a crowd is to a show. Darby Allin is a certified psycho, but I personally would've liked to see Page go over.
  18. Don't know if it was shown anywhere, but they just said on Dark tonight that Sammy Guevara will face Wheeler Yuta at night one of Fyter Fest. *insert eyes emoji here*
  19. I honestly hope not. I agree that she's been getting a lot quickly - but it's not that hard to harness what they do have with her if they feel it's too much. If you think she needs a little more work, she can get that in at the Factory while also managing the Blondes. She's a part of the group now and the fans have gravitated towards her, so pulling her out now would be a huge mistake.
  20. I think that's what he's saying. Dark is already loaded with jobber matches for a long 3 hours, maybe cut some of the entrances so that people don't have to take their entire day to watch the C show. Or if you're going to keep it that long, throw in a promo or something in there that keeps you "invested".
  21. I think a fair thing to acknowledge about the entrances too is that they don't take as long as the WWE's does. Just rewatched some entrances from SD, Dark, and Dynamite this past week for reference AEW Fuego Del Sol + Mark Stunt = 37 seconds (AEW DARK MATCH) Blade + Bunny = 39 seconds OC + Statlander = 1 minute (song kept playing, but after that it was Aubrey checking Blade for weapons) FTR + Wardlows entrance on Dynamite = 28 seconds Young Bucks = 1 minute 44 seconds (by far the longest) WWE Roman Reigns entrance to start SmackDown Friday? 3 minutes and 16 seconds. Nakamura - 1 minute and 30 seconds Cesaro? 1 minute and 10 seconds Edges entrance to end SD? - 1 minute and 7 seconds (cut to commercial) Reigns entrance to start SD was 26 seconds slower than Blade/Bunny + OC/Statlander + FTR/Wardlow + Young Bucks. That's kind of wild just how short AEW's entrances usually are.
  22. I can't for the life of me remember who said it, but somebody compared Griff to a young Triple H and now that's all I see.
  23. Speaking of the Blondes, it's being reported that Brian Pillman Jr. contract ran out for MLW last night and has now signed exclusively to AEW. I'm sure we all assumed it was a foregone conclusion before, but now it's official. I like that. I actually have a feeling Pillman and Garrison can break out in maybe like 3-5 years as pretty reputable singles stars. I see big things for both of them in the future.
