  1. No matter how good the environment in the AEW locker room is, different people are gonna have different experiences, and not all will be positive. The next time someone comes out with a non-positive report, Tony's second-best option would be to say "I'm sorry you feel that way. I wish you the best," the best option of course being to not say anything.

Also with the punk finish, the commentators were selling that he used his injured leg so it wouldn’t have the same power, and he took some time to cover. I thought the kickout right after three  may have been face saving for fish. I’m sure we’ll find out if something got messed up.

Looking at my DVR, his shoulder was up before the three count. Also it took Punk a minute to go into "celebrating a win" mode, which made me think it was supposed to be a 2.9 kickout and the ref fucked up.

Also I hate to be that guy since I've been loving so much of what AEW's been doing lately but this show was kind of a bummer all around for me. Call me grampa if you want, I'm old enough to not care, but I loathed the main event. JR was openly shitting on it for fuck's sake. I'm supposed to buy Hangman as being seriously pissed off after taking the marshmallow head off? (and even on the level of "just enjoy the silly", how do you have four guys in ghostbuster costumes w/proton packs and NOBODY makes a joke about "crossing the streams?"

Deeb's legwork was good (albeit she switched which leg she was targeting midway through) but Shida wasn't selling any of it, running around and jumping off shit from start to finish.

Bryan ought to know (and probably does know) that depression hits different people differently. So we're left with him manipulating Eddie just to piss him off. Too real tbh.

Speaking of, at this point I don't care if Cody turns or not, he should never cut a promo on HHH again unless he's gonna come out and have a match with him on AEW TV or PPV.

Both alliances in the Pac/Cody Black/Andrade feud seem thrown together and weird.

On the plus side, I thought the MJF/Darby segment was good, the Sammy/Page match was solid, Mox as angry wrecking ball works, especially since it's likely to conclude with a final against Bryan who he can't quite do that to, and the Punk/Fish match was very good until the possibly botched ending.

  3. Feel like not including some top stars in the tournament is less about them taking losses (if Punk lost to Mox or Danielson, would that really diminish him that much?) and more about not burning money-drawing PPV matches in the build-up to a match where only the final will be on PPV.

Handheld from ringside. By the sounds of things, they were so loud, they couldn't hear what his music was for a good while.

Couple bits from that we didn't see was Punk going and giving Mark Henry a big hug and then shaking Taz's hand and then having a bit of trouble finding his way offstage cuz AEW's dual-entranceway gimmick is difference than WWE's side-of-the-screen thing.

  5. I hate to be even a little bit negative about what was such an awesome return, (I absolutely cried and do not care who knows,) but Punk saying that he expects getting back to wrestling to be like riding a bike makes me worry he might be underestimating the difficulty of getting back into in-ring shape. I know he had stints pf time away from the ring due to injury, but he's never really done the Jericho thing of needing to come back after years away, and he's wrestling one of the fastest dudes in the business. I'm sure he's capable of getting back there, mentally and physically, (albeit he may need to adjust for the fact that he's in his 40s now,) and really the All Out crowd is gonna eat it all up regardless, but I do still wonder if there might be a ramp-up time before we can expect Punk to deliver in-ring.

  6. Anna Jay could be one of the pillars of the women's division. If Abadon or whoever serves as a transitional heel champ to take the title off Shida, her winning could be one of the things to cement face Dark Order alongside Hangman.
