"No coach should be allowed to structure a contract in a way to maximize his buyout."  Pray tell, why the heck not?

    Integrity?

i’m kidding, of course.  No one has that anymore.

I’m not really cool with fraud, so I’m hoping someone slaps this down.

  2. So you’re saying it’s better not to pay the homeless to pick up trash, right?  Because dudes like you are going to find the rain cloud in anything positive someone does for another person?

To be honest, that works for me.  Why invite bad pr.   People are generally terrible.

  3. Mox looks a lot older since the least time I saw him (November or December, probably).  It was a bit disconcerting,

I think I’m over Mox blading every match and wanting to do the garbage stuff.  It’s dumb, but at one point I was wondering if Moxley can walk to the mailbox without bleeding,

Caught the last 5 min of the Darby match.  Was legit confused why he was spending an hour trying to cut something loose from under the ring,   Lol, I thought they hid a giant ladder down there.  I guess he was trying to take the padding off.  Nice of Joe to hang out while Darby worked very slowly.  Also took me a while to figure out what Darby was trying to put on for the coffin drop.  A piece of…. rubber?  Flak jacket?  Pinhead starter kit?  I guess that was a hoodie studded with thumbtacks?  Lol, watching Darby trying to get in on and only kinda succeeding reminded me of the infamous Lex Luger vs. his shirt video.

  4. lol, lots of guys mentally retire in Janauary.  They mentally unretire in April when their bodies don’t hurt so much and they forget what the previous season was like.

I kinda hope this retirement doesn’t stick.  The League is more interesting with 46-year-old Brady in it.

Funny how the pictures used for Brave and the Bold are of Dick Grayson as Batman and Damian Wayne's Robin when the film feature Bruce Bats.

Article I read a few min ago said the Brave and the Bold movie would be based on Grant Morrison’s run.  Morrison’s run was spread over three titles and the middle one- Batman and Robin - featured Dick Grayson as Batman and Damien Wayne as Robin, so I assume it’s plausible they introduce Dick Grayson as Bats.

Slate looks fine if not exciting to me.  I’m not much of a superhero movie fan though.

Despite wreddit insisting that triple h is a genius, several of his hand picked guys came out to silence at the Rumble. Kross and Johnny Gargano come immediately to mind.

And a number of guys he brought back weren’t on the card at all.  Lumis, Hit Row, Jonah Rook.

I may be just a simple country bird lawyer...

I had to drop out of law school after a year when the faculty discovered I couldn’t do a convincing Foghorn Leghorn impression.  True(-ish) story.

As someone who doesn’t normally watch, was there more weird hair last night because it was a big show or that just normal for people’s wardrobes these days?

Par for the course these days.  I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

  9. Meltzer thinks that Sami and Owens will challenge the Usos for the tag titles at WM.  He actually fantasy booked an interesting angle that fans hopefully wouldn’t shit on.

.Hopefully that’s the route the company goes.  I’ve enjoyed the angle but don’t really buy Sami being a threat to Roman or want to see him end Roman’s run.

Daves’s fantasy booking did have Sami challenging Roman at the Canada ple.

I wanna say Shinsuke has a bum shoulder.  But I could be wrong.

He worked house shows last week, fwiw.

Personally, I don’t believe that Riddle is injured.  Rehab or simply suspended seem more likely to me.

Probably not a good sign for Jonah Rook that they left him out of the Rumble.  Even worse sign is that he’s just come back to the company and I’ve already forgotten his WWE name.

Cole was still shitting on Top Dollar last night.  Lol, the way the keep going back to that makes me think it’s about more than a botched dive.

  11. Personally. I think both parts of The Last of Us are genuine masterpieces and not overrated.  Or at least,  not overrated by much.  To each their own.

Too many games hitting in January.  It’s giving me some hope that this will be a monster year.  I bought the Persona remasters and Monster Hunter Rise last week, Dead Space & Forspoken so far this week.  And Goldeneye just dropped.  I’m curious to see how that holds up a few decades later.  Hi-Fi Rush looks great and I’m looking forward to it, but want to read some reviews first.

Oh, and Seasons is getting great early reviews, so I’ll probably pick that up next week along with the Xbox port of the Pathless.  Feb looks like it will be fairly busy.

I played very little last year.  Thinking my consoles will get more use this year.  Also thinking I should sell my Steam Deck.  it just confirmed I’m not a PC fan.  It’s well on its way to becoming a paperweight if I keep it.

  12. Question: how well know is the Hart family in Canada these days.  Would the average person who doesn’t follow wrestling know who the Harts are?  Or care?  It’s been a few decades now since Stampede was much of a thing or since Bret and Owen were active and on tv.  I’m thinking that, by this point, the Harts are a lot less famous than fairly unknown pro athletes, but I don’t know.

Reason I am wondering is that I watched Dangerous Breed - Peacock’s Teddy Hart documentary - and basically cackled when the filmmaker talked about being sure a reality series about an Indy pro wrestler who breeds showcats would be the next big thing.  I’m sure even more unlikely people have become reality tv stars, but it seems farfetched to think Teddy Hart would generate that much interest.

Since we don't have an "Extremely Cursed Wrestling Objects" thread:

I guess now we know where Kurt’s soul went when it left his body during the infamous WWE “Wellness Policy” meeting.

I’m kidding.  If half the stories about his drug use are true, Kurt’s soul has left his body numerous times over the years.  It always comes back.

I didn't see it mentioned, but everyone's favorite gimmick based D-III basketball team, Grinnell won a game last month over Emmaus Bible where they did not attempt a single 2 point field goal.   Instead, they shot the ball 111 times from 3.

Notably, they only shot 36% from 3 (40-111) and still won by almost 60.

I’m curious what a 111 shot game looks like.  Most D1 NCAA take about sixty shots per game from the field.  I imagine D3 is much the same.  111 shots is almost 3 shots a minute, so you’re…. playing absolutely no defense and letting the other team shoot as quick as possible?  Getting an absurd number of offensive rebounds and kicking the ball back out to the perimeter?

Had to be a strange game to watch.

The match is over before I could remember Paxley Tatum's name  (and it's Tatum Paxley, I just discovered.)

I’ve been watching NxT for at least a month now and only realized last night that Lyra Valkyria and the witchy woman who is annoying Alba Fyre are two different people.  I wondered why they turned her babyface last week out of the blue.

Yeah, “watching” may not be the right word for what I’ve been doing,

My co-worker is convinced this game is real and it’ll be amazing. I’ve been telling him for close to a year now that it’s vaporware and likely just a scheme from a Russian developer (who released a shitty prop hunt game before this).

I would think it’s a scheme but what’s the angle?  It’s not crowdfunded or available for preorder, so no money is changing hands.  Investors thwt we haven’t heard about?  Advertisers…somehow?  Attention?  It seems like a scam without a likely payoff.
