  1. See I thought Cage’s Mack match this week was a waaay better way to get an indie guy over, who is dying for a contract, than last week. Cage is just so much better with the spectacle big man stuff, than the hard hitting big man stuff.

Actually I was kinda unsure when Willie Mack came out. He’s still the same exact chunky guy with a great match while doing it in little trunks, but only in a different promotion. Time for an update Mack. Chris Dickinson has this exact same problem. As do others. But I think Willie deserves a contract after that match, that wasn’t just a “Hometown Pop” like last week, that was also a great reaction, after a great performance. That’s the kind of tryout match I like from a wrestler like that.

  2. I was perfectly fine with the jerk face MJF promo. The man knows how to consistently push buttons well, and the fact that people not only buy into his fake face turns, but get completely behind him when he gives you the impression he’s “changing” means the act always works, no matter how much it offends.

  3.  I remember that happening around when CMLL was kicked off Galavision for AAA, so a lot of the Mistico Vs. Black Warrior was off US TV. But for some reason I recall most of it. So either Luchablog’s reports were super accurate, or I did indeed watch it on TV? I just remember also being in fuck Galavision mode, and thinking about walking into the headquarters by Miami International Airport to formally complain, then realizing how nerdy that would be.

  4. I’m stunned it wasn’t any of the networks, or Disney. Can’t wait for the return of Andre The Giant & Yokozuna.

But in all seriousness… I'm guessing why Stephanie, and probably an undisclosed person turned on Vince like that to reveal his infidelities was to initially prevent something like this from happening a year ago. And the fact this was done in a week of his return tells me Vince had this deal in the pipeline for a long time it was just delayed by his ousting.

I don't know, he looked good.  I think they would sign Jake Something since he is a better version of Schaff, though.

It’s just he was taking some bad bumps on his ass like if he was early 2000’s Vampiro, and his offense wasn’t any special. Like I said, happy he got a chance, but needs a lot more seasoning. He should get a short contract, and see if he can really impress outside this hometown reaction. I’d like a match with Will Hobbs, or Wardlow. Maybe he needs to work  with other big guys that can slow him down a little more.

  6. Alternating between match time formats week to week would be a nice change of pace. I think where it would work well is say you get Will Hobbs Vs. a lesser guy(but talented) like Isaiah Kassidy in a five minute back-and-forth sprint to show people how good they can run crazy spots.

But on the negative side you have bad RAW matches. Somehow they’d have way more duds than they should. I guess blame the shitty New York style.

  7. Great episode… I don’t know who Schaff is. He seems pretty popular. But he did not look skilled in the ring whatsoever. Either nursing an injury, or just completely uncoordinated. The crowd reactions were very impressive still. I just can’t see them signing him on his extremely mediocre ring technique. There are quite a few similar indie guys that can do his brand of wrestling a lot better, and they have Darby Allin. If they need Darby’s opposite, they have Brody King, and I believe dark haired Evil Darby. Happy they gave him time to prove himself.

  8. It’s true, these two are great dance partners, and this might be the first tease of the year for a mask match between both men. You know, it might actually happen. They really seem insistent on doing it, and if CMLL builds it well enough, I think they will allow them. Soberano is very red hot, and putting him in with a talented rival in a big stakes match would be the best for him, and the company. The semi-main is ehhhhhhh… But the rest of the card is of very good quality. The segunda especially has a lot of potential. This combo of the Panthers already produced magic once. Could be another test to see if this can be a another permanent fixture on Friday’s.

  9. Chavez Bros.(Angel Del Oro & Niebla Rojo) Vs. Titan & Volador Jr. for the CMLL Tag Titles from last night has been getting high praise by the usual suspects. CMLL puts it up on their YouTube channel in two weeks. So look out for that one.

Chavez Bros have been red hot all of 2022, with Angel Del Oro being the main factor. He has really found his superstar presence from deep within himself.

Mox/Claudio vs. Top Flight is the best Claudio has ever looked in AEW and it was totally dope and had a bunch of good ideas that worked. MotN by leaps n bounds on a show with a lot of good stuff. Less Claudio vs. Ex-WWE heels, more Claudio bullying young indy flippers. why do you think we liked him in the first place?

He also looked pretty great in the battle royale. I guess Claudio’s new thing is “How can I beat people in ways that are brutal, and unique”.

  11. Lee isn’t as special anymore in 2023(Even probably all the way back in 2019). Which is true. I mean you could factor in that he is an extremely handsome young man, but just being that isn’t exactly helping Hector Garza Jr.. So he’ll need a complete reinvention of who he is if he wants to swim. Still he is the more gifted member of his family in terms of being a spectacle, but again there are 10 other(and more) Luchadors I’d put over him today.

How do I watch? Do they have a service or do they also post shows on Twitch or YouTube?

They post Friday shows(Their #1 show) on a two weeks delay on the YouTube channel every Sunday. VideosOficialesCMLL Is where you want to go https://m.youtube.com/@VideosOficialesCMLL. If you want to watch live Friday shows you’ll have to pay five bucks for it on the Ticketmaster page. Cubsfan posts the link usually the day of on Luchablog. The catch with these streams is that you can’t rewatch them after they air. So you need to watch it live, or wait two weeks to rewatch it on YouTube. Try this Sundays show. It’s five bucks, on an easier day to watch it,  and it’s considered one of their biggest of the shows of the calender year, if you are here for the big shows.

I’d also recommend subscribing to certain Lucha YouTube channels. That way you can get quick updates to where the stars of the major promotions are throughout the week.
