  1. I enjoyed the show. Cody and dom was a fun little match, the ladder matches were pretty wild and I liked the womens finish. Crowd was great. Finish if Seth and Finn was lame.

They wouldn’t have pushed wrestlemania like that if that wasn’t the plan. They should schedule it for the weekend after the final four and they’ll have no comp. Wrestlemania at wembley will be big news.

Earlier today I saw ringside seats go on sale for $50 including fees for tonight. Wild.

Next time I’m going to a show, if I can’t get perfect seats on the presale I’m just going to wait until the day before/ day of. Amazing tickets get released for a good price and as long as you are checking it’s all yours.

Well, Shibata did have to have his brain removed* after a match with Okada, so the brain drippage could happen.

*I have no clue what actually happened with Shibata, but the reporting that his brain was taken out of his head will always crack me up. Wait, someone really reported that, right?!?! Did I make that up in my own brain? Is my brain leaking out of my ear. I gotta go.

Part of his skull was removed (twice) because of swelling in his brain. Meltzer got a little mixed up there lol.

It is what it is, but the product feels hotter this last week (across all areas) than it has for a year. It's not one thing but a lot of things coming together and all of them are important. This may not be the most sustainable thing ever, but if they can keep producing shows like they have and put together cards like they are, the experience for viewers will be great.

I’m so excited for the ppv on Sunday, and then I was just thinking how I’ll be excited when it’s over too because then they can start building things towards wembley stadium. Good times, hopefully no one messes it up.

  5. Thought it was a really good show. Major league stage, I’m a big fan of Kevin Kelly. Andrade and buddy beat the crap out of each other. I thought it was a great debut and I’m looking forward to dynamite and collision before forbidden door.

Bucks need to do a promo on Wednesday in Chicago.

  6. As an xfinity subscriber I’ve been enjoying peacock for free but that’s about to end. Comcast sent an email with a promo to get 12 months for $36, but just today I used fandango (elemental is such a great movie) and they sent me a promo for 6 months for $12. I think I’ll go with that.

Sure, I think that's the point. What is the PC not doing that a couple of pro wrestlers can do in a few weeks?

I think it's probably that, having not seen either Logan Paul or Bad Bunny wrestle but having heard a lot about them, both of them understand pro wrestling at a visceral level beyond most PC invitees.

That’s a good point. I think another thing is that wwe recruits athletes who aren’t wrestling fans. A lot of these people never watched wrestling and don’t know anything about it. Bad bunny, Logan Paul and pat mcafee are huge long time wrestling fans who get it and know where they need be to make it work. That’s probably a big difference as well.

It’s like stone cold asking that girl about her favorite wrestling match and she just names some completely random shitty match. She didn’t understand a thing about wrestling and there’s only so much you can do with that.

Cole/MJF lost viewers, but not a lot. Puzzlingly low rating given the shows content, but I’m starting to wonder if it’s just gonna be that way.

There really doesn’t seem to be a ton of noticeable reasons for the dips and spikes in the viewers. It always seems like the blow away shows dip in the ratings and then some random show spikes up. I kinda stopped paying attention to it, although obviously I’m super curious about what the next deal ends up being.

Edit: Question for the more avid than I NJPW/BritWres viewers -

To paraphrase the great Dave Grohl, I've got another confession to make: I've seen one single ZSJ match ever, against Kurt Angle around 7 or 8 years ago (it was fine). Anything must-watch I should get in before the PPV?

Here’s a fun recent one vs Jeff Cobb.

How is watered down? He's pushed as one of the four pillars of AEW, and just came off a title shot for AEW's top championship (albeit in a four-way)

I saw him as an extremely weak lame duck challenger at double or nothing. I think most did but I’ll speak for myself. And I see him as a very weak lame duck challenger here (very quiet reaction from the crowd here as well).  I don’t want to dwell on this and be negative so I’m not going to bring it up again. I’m very excited for the show.

Jungle Boy getting the shot at SANADA feels like AEW pivoting from raising someone up briefly and dropping them back down. It’s follow up and looks like an actual attempt to lift someone up the card with some consistency. Very hard to complain about. Fits in just fine on a show with other actual main events.

I respectfully disagree very strongly. I was so excited and curious about the open challenge and then I got that promo. Lift someone else up. This is another super watered down title match outside of japan.

  12. Jungle boy getting an iwgp championship shot is 2017 Cody getting an iwgp championship shot in Long Beach. What a disappointment.

edit: I just saw that “live” on the west coast so that was just my immediate disappointment. Tana vs mjf is great, orange and zsj is great, I still have the main event to see and I’ve enjoyed the show. But the open challenge promo to that promo…ugh

Wait, wait, wait.  This thread is the first I saw part of the card and they're going with Danielson/Okada?!  WHAT?!  This must be part of some weird fever dream, right?  I don't care what I'm doing in Greece I will take time the next morning to catch that match.  Holy fuckballs.

So, this has to be a sign that Danielson/ZSJ is happening at All In, right?  It would be the absolute perfect time and place to do it.

Make sure you watch Bryan’s taped promo.

The crowd in Osaka popped pretty big at the side view of his face and there was a pretty loud yes chant after it aired. Surprisingly loud.

  14. Man, just realized my first trip to Vegas with friends since before the pandemic is on that same day. Just a 1 nighter and we all just had to unanimously come to that date. I tried calling the hotel to see if I can stream from my phone to the tv and they said no. I hate watching stuff on my phone but I don’t think I can resist this main event. I can always watch the rest of it the next day but I am really excited for this so far.
