    I think Cary Silkin.

he does but the big issue is the licensed music for the entrances on these shows.  Which is why you have a lot of the edited versions on Honor Club that really bring down the product as a whole.  I have all of the DVD's from that era and had considered selling them but knowing that will be the only way probably ever to watch them in complete form is making it hard to pull the trigger.

  2. Maria's social media post leads me to believe that the women's division is going to be an afterthought (or ran by someone other than her)  Do we get a Chikara style ending at Final Battle where someone shows up and just destroys everything and everyone? How do you end a ppv when your next "planned" show isn't until April?

You've made a lot of bad posts, so believe me when I say that this one being your worst post is truly saying something.

A healthy Perfect who jumps to WCW probably fits into a role with the Four Horsemen and has a pretty long career in WCW as a tag worker/sometimes TV or US champ through the mid-90s. Once Arn is hurt and Pillman leaves, the Horsemen are a complete mess pretty much the rest of the way, and Hennig as a stabilizing force in that group would have been cool. By the time he made it there, they just wanted to have him turn heel and join the nWo, which was sort of a waste except the Horsemen were dead by that time anyway, even if its members didn't know it.

I actually enjoy Mongo McMichael (only somewhat ironically), but that Mongo/Debra/Jarrett love triangle was awful. You stick Jarrett in a Horsemen with Flair, Benoit, and Hennig and that's actually pretty watchable!

a lot of bad posts?  Grow some balls internet warrior and name some. Coming from someone who enjoys Mongo that's truly  saying something.

    so she probably won't

this is to make up for her not appearing on the 9/11 MSG show I'd imagine.  WWE seemed to get a lot of social media heat for it and rightfully so.

What happens if Curt Henning's back doesn't give him problems in the early 90's and then again in the mid 90's? Whats his position in The New Generation ear and then The Attitude Era? does he still jump to WCW?

one thing I can say for certain is Rap would still be crap.

  6. I'd mentioned before. I met a gentleman who was high up with IT for WWE at the time. The IT guys had to be out there a week before and some were supposed to stay a bit after also. He mentioned that the stuff about them not paying Vince on time and Vince shutting off the feed was 100% true. They did hold the plane on the runway until things were "resolved"  He mentioned that the IT guys who normally stayed in town later also got to fly back to the US early this trip. He was one of the many cut 2 yrs or so when WWE did their massive office cuts.

    Thoughts on SuperBrawl 2

Jesse Ventura told Jim Ross that he should wear a cowboy hat so he could look like JR Ewing. "His initials are even JR!" A light bulb went on above Vince McMahon's head.

Terry Taylor changed his moniker from "The Computerized Man of the '90s" to the "Taylor Made Man," which apparently meant raiding Ted DiBiase's wardrobe.

Junkyard Dog came out of the crowd to save Ron Simmons from a beating by Cactus Jack and Abdullah the Butcher. But why was JYD wearing a white tuxedo?

Tom Zenk ended his 5-PPV losing streak by teaming with Van Hammer to beat Richard Morton and Vinnie Vegas, who looked relieved not to be portraying "Oz" any more.

Paul E. Dangerously dressed up as Ricky Steamboat's ninja and caused Steamboat to lose his US title match against Rick Rude. Of course, the fact that Paul E. wasn't in Rude's corner gave away the surprise.

Sting survived Lex Luger's piledriver and Harley Race's attempted piledriver on the floor to win his second WCW title. The fans were definitely ready for Sting to be back on top of the mountain, with tons of his shirts and signs in the crowd. Luger was off to the World Bodybuilding and Wrestling Federations.

Arn Anderson is the MVP. He threw powder in Rick Steiner's face, causing Rick to suplex the referee and get disqualified. Not only did Arn and Bobby Eaton retain the WCW tag team title, but Arn also escaped the wrath of Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes, who beat Larry Zbyszko and Steve Austin to gain revenge for the parking lot attack at Halloween Havoc. Even though Larry adopted the "Cruncher" nickname, Arn was actually the one who slammed the car door on Windham's hand.

I remember this time period vividly which is insane as I was just about to turn 9 yrs old.  The January Clash was a huge show and built this ppv perfectly.  They promoted this show huge on the Saturday TV and in the WCW Magazine.  I thought this would be the show where Steamboat finally beats Rude, Sting beats Lex, and the Steiners win the tag belts back.  Sadly only one of the three happened.

I could be off but I am 99% sure JR made mention to Lex gassing early and being in terrible shape.  Also once Lex loses he immediately gets right up and walks off.  Way to treat your best friend.

Britt is not as horribly green as Jade is, and Britt often rises to the caliber of the person she's in the ring against.  Problem is that she can't be in the ring with Thunder Rosa every night.  Even Shida and Tay Conti have their moments of awkwardness in matches that make me think that extended programs with Britt might not be a good idea.

That's why I think another women's singles title is a horrible idea.  Tag belts would be better so that then you could tie a rocket to Jade and Nyla and cover up Jade's weaknesses by giving her a partner.

Personally, I'd put the belt on either Ruby, Rosa, or Serena Deeb next.

I really couldn't agree with you more.  Part of me is even thinking back and wondering "was Brit's in ring bad in IWC because of the caliber of opponents she had"  but then I thought back and she was in there with Ray Lynn who is really good and deserves to be signed,  Katie Arquette who yes she was also very green at the time too, and Marti Belle who is also should be in AEW.

Something that isn't well known (and one of the reason's I soured on Brit) is that she was originally going to face Lufisto in a cage match. This could have been a chance to face a star and try a whole different style of wrestling.  She refused to do it and Katie Arquette took the match (and one of an ass kicking)  Katie earned my respect huge that night while I lost a lot for Britt.

If any of you are familiar with Ziggy Haim  she also was supposed to be facing Britt, Britt refused to work with her and made up a bullshit story and the match never happened. Ziggy left the promotion soon after.

I will say this though. Britt's attitude has changed for the better. She did the match with Thunder that was easily the best women's match this year. That hardcore style match is something she never would have done 3-4 yrs ago and it makes me wonder just how great that match with Lufisto would have been.   I think Britt will have a great 2022 and hope that Deeb or Rosa get the TBS belt as well. Rosa and Deeb can have a great match and can also carry anyone.

You don't put Jade into title matches against Britt because there is no traction for Britt if / when she wins.   Yes, Jade is finally starting to put shit together but Britt has experience and the numbers game on her side.  Jade is the underdog in that match and IMO she should not leave with the title  Britt wins that contest all day every day.

See also:  Ruby Soho, Thunder Rosa, Nyla Rose, Emi Sakura (there I said it).

That being said, Jade is a star on the rise and her first L has the potential to elevate (no pun intended) anyone who beats her.  I hate to say it, but I'd probably book a DQ loss for Britt or a time limit draw for her match with Jade and then use an L on Jade's record as a vehicle to put someone like the ever improving Skye Blue or a much less green Julia Hart on blast.

I like how AEW treats its organic talent well and I'd like to see this continue.

The problem is you can't book Brit or Jade into a time limit draw. They both are green and need someone to carry them.  Brit's promo ability and mic work has improved by leaps and bounds. I was her biggest critic and I'l admit she is a top heel. The problem is her ring work still doesn't reasonate to me as a champion. In my mind a champion should be able to carry anyone to a good/great match.  A champion should not need to be carried.

Having said that, I do think a DQ/Double countout could be the way to go. AEW rarely does non finishes so I'd be ok with this as I would think most fans.

So who does beat Brit?  Shita?  Thunder? Ruby?  Not a ton of viable options right now.  As long as it's not Brandi I'l be ok with their decision.

  10. quick heads up,

Amazon is having a huge 3 for the price of 2 sale.  Tons of great DC and Marvel trades and omnibuses are in the sale. It seems like they add/remove some daily though. I first noticed this yesterday and some of the titles were removed today while some have been added.

The Superman by Morrison is included in this deal so if you want to get this as well as some great other books now is definitely the time!

I want AEW to do a Crockett Cup but only with brother tag teams. Get G.o.D and the Briscoes in there.

Who will Hogan's partner be BROTHER?!   Brother Bruti?  Did they patch things up?

TIL One of Daniel Garcia's trainers was.... Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

I didn't even know Brandon was a fuckin' wrestler, that's insane.

He had worked some smaller indy shows in Erie PA as well as Buffalo NY.

I have to check but I am almost positive some of his stuff is on Highspots and or IWTV.

I've a soft spot for The New 52 as I started reading Batman books in relatively recent time for the first time through a couple of months delay. Give me the Batman books of that period in the flagship Batman book by Scott Snyder/Greg Capullo, Grant Morrison's Batman, Incorporated and Peter J Tomasi/Patrick Gleason's Batman and Robin over Batman in the Rebirth era. Batwoman from the New 52 by JH Williams III/W Haden Blackman was also great till editorial interference fucked it up. New 52 did have its issues though losing Wally West and the shortened timeline leaving us wondering what was/wasn't canon.

I picked up the Morrison Superman omnibus. I know you are a huge fan of his Batman work.  I didn't have much in the way of Superman so I picked up the Morrison, Exile and other stories, and the Tomasi omni's.   Not bad so far.

  14. Absolutely loved the match. I was always a big fan of Tatanka as a face. Turning him heel was dumb and he fizzled due to the turn..

Kwang was awesome too. Wasn't a bad gimmick but Razor Ramon needed Mr. Boombastic Shaggy (Savio) and WWE needed someone to fill in for every mystery partner match ever (Savio)  so I get it.

Lots of fun hidden gem matches on Superstars and on the Colliseum Home Video shows.  Always love going back and watching random matches.  Makes me wish for them to upload more MSG/Boston Garden House shows.

Anyone here done an AIW show in Ohio before? Good time?  Heading to Akron Saturday. They're bringing in Thunder Rosa and Cardona. Felt a little sad that the email they used when buying tickets is Chandler's for some reason.

been to some. They are fun. They usually have an afterparty at a local bar as well.  If you go you will like it. Very similar to the IWC shows in Pittsburgh.  AIW used to be a super Indy but now they have been relying more on homegrown talent and 1-2 big names each show. Seems to be a good formula for them.

I have no fucking clue where this Lio Rush thing is going.   He will be the third rich asshole heel in the fed behind MJF and Matt Hardy.

I get it that you don't want to give the appearance of copying by putting him in some sort of ballin' rapper gimmick bragging about wealth (even though Lio is not a half bad rapper) and risk being accused of cloning Hit Row or clashing gimmicks with The Acclaimed, but three silver spoons in the same fed is a bit much.

don't forget Andrade as rich asshole heel as well.
