  1. It would seem like a weird choice after they've been doing fuck all with her for over two years, but I like it better than most of the other options. I know I don't need to see any of the Same Four Women win. Naomi needs more than being a dancing, smiling babyface to really get over with the crowd. They need to let her kick ass, and they need to stop basing all her creative on her being the wife of An Uso.

  2. It looks like NXT:UK is going to be used as a developmental territory now that NXT proper no longer functions that way. Should be a good thing overall, since most of the UK talent still seems interchangeable to me. Glad to see the Outliers finally debut - would have liked to see Robert Strauss debut with them but god forbid we actually televise any of the Florida loop managers. Dan Matha is also now "Dorian Mak," which I somehow missed. I assume that came after the typical conversation with developmental talent that starts out with "Your name doesn't sound stupid enough."

did she not kick out at 3 and a quarter?  I can like or dislike whatever I want and I am not wrong on this.  Riho-Stratlander is going to be fun.

We all already know you dislike Britt Baker, because you are extraordinarily creepy about it, even for this board full of people that can't figure out when they should stop talking about women. And it's getting to the point where a mod is probably (hopefully) going to ban you for it if you don't give it a rest. I'm sure that you have some genuine knowledge about wrestling and could contribute something valuable to discussions here. You are not doing so at any point that you are talking about Britt Baker. Please - cut it the fuck out already. No one is interested.

  4. I don't think anyone really thinks it's a big deal, but it is certainly a detail that they have no excuse for overlooking. Someone is a dumbass for letting it happen (I have to assume this is Kenny), and it made the organization look like dumbasses by extension. Also, a match for the AEW Women's title should be the most important match of Kris's career, no? You can trumpet her keeping her commitments all you want to - she chose to wrestle another match instead of wrestling for the AEW Women's title. The company line might be "we postponed the match so she wouldn't have to choose," but kayfabe-wise Kris should have been like "nah, fuck that, I'm working that match so I can get that very-important Women's title." It's essentially Khan announcing that these other shows are just as important as AEW shows, and while that might fly with hardcore wrestling fans that follow 20 organizations and care primarily about how happy the workers are, it doesn't make AEW look all that special.

Yeah, it isn't going to sink the company, but the little things are *important*. An accumulation of small details being overlooked could certainly have an affect on business - see WCW 1999. It isn't "this fucking company is DOOMED," it's "this company needs to stop letting this kind of shit happen immediately." If it takes signing people to exclusive deals, then that's what they need to do.

  5. The Elite leaving pretty much sank the possibility of a successful American expansion, and Omega and the Bucks used their NJPW-created stardom as a launching pad to start a rival organization that helped to kill the aforementioned expansion. And NJPW is supposed to promote and thank them? Ridiculous.

Also, the answer to "who gives a shit" here is always "a board full of devoted wrestling fans," so I'm not sure why that ever gets rolled out.

Storm keeps the crowd from shitting on the fuck finish by goofing with the ref and fans during the count. Good on Storm, but its cognitive dissonance seeing him be happy and goofy, particularly after being furious last we saw him. Thankfully, he makes the “belt-on-my-waist” motion before we cut, so we know he’s still got his motivation. The Cowboy is a professional, at least.

Aldis's subtle heel turn was mostly well done, but didn't do Cowboy any favors. During the buildup he came off as whiny and not at all like a top babyface, so this may have just been a case of them overcorrecting.

Question Mark catching fire has kind of put them in a bind - it was clearly never supposed to be a long-term angle, and now that he's the most over face in the company, they have to figure out where to go with it. They could go with the original plan, Jocephus unmasking in some heelish way, but the longer this drags out the less sense that makes. If they amend the angle and go with a full-on Jocephus face turn, the crowd will be on board, but there isn't really a clear direction you could go with him from there.

And yeah - the National title is looking very, very pointless on this show. The TV title being introduced, having a gimmick, and being made to look important doesn't help. Why on earth are there three singles male titles on a show with maybe 20 male wrestlers? It seems like "one wrestler gets all the belts" is the only direction that could be taken.
