  1. Start times for UFC Zagreb: Fight Pass: 10:30 a.m. EST/ 7:30 a.m. PST FS1 Prelims: 12:00 p.m. EST/ 9:00 a.m. PST Main Card on FS1: 2 p.m. EST/ 11:00 a.m. PST
  2. Tim Bradley...still not a great matchup for Manny Pacquiao. Who would have thought?
  3. I am really interested to see what Dalby can do at welterweight. He's a very intriguing prospect if he can take care of Cummings as expected.
  4. In a story just posted on MMA Junkie, Mir confirmed he failed for AAS (anabolic androgenic steroids). At first, he thought it was for Adderall but he has a TUE so it wasn't that. He said if his B sample doesn't come back clean, that's it for his career. The heavyweight division is like five failed tests from retiring like 60 percent of the top fighters.
  5. Based on the fact he is saying he didn't do anything, he will probably use the tainted supplement excuse. The thing is he'll have to get whatever it is tested, which doesn't get him off the hook. Even though Romero got six months, they wanted to give him the full two years. I don't know if Means is going to get the same treatment either. Painkillers are something you're just not gonna play off. I don't think Frank Mir is the "Oh shit..yeah, forgot to tell you guys I'm taking painkillers." type. With a Joe Riggs or a Ken Shamrock, I can see that happening. Dude has been fighting for fifteen years. Even he's been looking mighty suspicious in certain fights over the years, you still have to give a little benefit of the doubt.
  6. Frank Mir is the latest to be flagged for a potential USADA violation. It should be noted that Mir was suppose to be an analyst for Fox during the FS1 coverage of the UFC Zagreb show. Now, he isn't and has been replaced.
  7. Looks like the Fury vs. Klitschko rematch will be on July 9 from Manchester. No venue announced yet.
  8. The new ATT gym looks pretty badass. Also, Kyoji Horiguchi seems like the most chill dude ever.
  9. If Fresquez wasn't on the UFC shitlist, I don't think Tate would have any other option but to grant Holm a rematch.
  10. Sucks what happened with Lion Fight. She may as well double down and try to get paid as much as possible. Another female fighting note: espnW is reporting that Cat Zingano vs. Julianna Pena is now official for UFC 200.
  11. Khabib Nurmagomedov is fighting Cage Fury (CFFC) lightweight champ and prospect Darrell Horcher on the Tampa card. It will be contested at a catchweight of 160 pounds.
  12. I think it's because of a couple things. First off, it's crazy how folks were so enamored five or so years ago about how someone like Roy Nelson could lose weight and become a better fighter. When you look at Nelson as a fighter, his weight is not really a factor as to why he succeeds or fails. The fact that he eventually relied so much on one big punch and his chin over his grappling skills that it became a detriment is what Nelson is as a fighter. If anything, a well rounded fighter like Ben Rothwell becoming fit is more likely to succeed in the heavyweight division. With the circumstances now where everyone is being tested hard, your going to have less fighters looking like absolute destroyers. That benefits someone like Rothwell who was never this one hitter quitter type heavyweight. As a result of that above circumstance, the heavyweight division is going to dip and meet Rothwell's ascent somewhere in the middle. When the division is not replete with other fighters on the rise, fighters like Rothwell are going to prosper. He's not going to win every fight, but he is going to win enough fights to stick around especially when the other fighters are old and not what they use to be. Hopefully, the Ngannou vs. Blaydes fight does produce someone who can go on a run. The future of heavyweight is so wide open.
  13. It would be interesting to see how much Tate's team pushed for a title defense. I know she wanted to fight ASAP (much like Holm after 193), but she pretty much has the Rousey fight locked up for November. I think the new deal she just signed this week takes care her as far as the PPV end goes. So it's not like she won't get paid more than her guaranteed purse when that fight rolled around. I know Dana had designs on two female fights being on 200, but you have to give Nunes a chance to beat Tate. No matter who wins though, they would need the winner to be healthy to fight in November (or December). Potentially the MSG card could have some combo of Cormier-Jones II, Rousey's return vs. the BW title fight winner, and possibly a Weidman fight if he beats Rockhold. That has the potential to do crazy business at the gate and in terms of PPV revenue. I mean Tate should be fine because UFC 200 is going to do pretty well on PPV. However, it's a big risk for her. I mean Holm tried to get two big paydays and then she got choked out before she could get the second one. Tate is about as vulnerable as Holm was if not more.
  14. Tate/Nunes is interesting in that Nunes for six minutes has a chance to blast Tate. Anything after that could be Nunes on the ground getting submitted. The betting odds might be crazy as the fight approaches.
  15. TUF 23 Cast: Women's Strawweights Light Heavyweights Some notes: - Quite a few Invicta fighters in the strawweight cast. Wonder if you will get unintentional spoilers if some of these girls end up on future Invicta cards. - It's funny that they brought back Norman Paraisy, who is forever is reference point for clever editing. He lost a fight to get into the house on a season some year back. He said French fighters never quit before quitting in hilarious fashion just minutes later. Hopefully, he can do better. - Khalil Rountree and Phil Hawes have to be odds on favorite for this season.
  16. That must've been the other of the two female bouts on UFC 200. Pena/Zingano should be announced soon.
  17. Cerrone signed to fight Khabib only to pull out of the fight 3 hours later with a rib injury. That's according to Khabib on his Twitter. Now, Cerrone is disputing that. This should be interesting.
