  1. Another potential USADA violation: Viscardi Andrade

This should shed a bit of light on the answer to the question posed in the UFC Zagreb event thread. Basically mirrors my answer. Andrade's sample was collected on 3/7 and sent to a WADA accredited lab in Rio de Janeiro. He fought on March 19 (or March 20 depending your timezone) in Brisbane. He was notified of his failure on April 12. So basically, whether you're living in the US or not, someone is going to be there to administer tests.

Hey, just in time to compete with the sequel to the Jungle Book that does open this weekend, and Disney has already but in pre-production!

Favreau is saying that they haven't really talked about a sequel yet, and that people are jumping the gun. However, he would be interested in returning.

So if that's the case, 2019 would be more realistic than 2018.

  3. Here is a stellar interview Paul Gift did with former FTC commissioner Joshua Wright.

It goes into the 2011 & 2015 FTC Investigations of the UFC, common misconceptions about how they're opened, why they were ultimately closed, differences between the FTC investigations and the current antitrust lawsuit, and why the plaintiffs in the lawsuit are going to have a very tough, uphill battle trying to prove their arguments. Definitely recommended.

So Aaron Pico lost at the Olympic trials last night, thus basically bringing his shot at being at the 2016 Rio games to an end. He can either try his hand at MMA with Bellator or start his campaign for 2020.

In addition to Pico, Ed Ruth didn't qualify for the 2016 Olympics. Based on what he is saying on Twitter, looks like his competitive wrestling days are over and will be moving to MMA full time.

How is drug testing handled for fighters not living in the US? Do they have a contract with other NADAs?

Everyone has to indicate their whereabouts to USADA, and they are suppose to be at the designated place for the drug test (gym, their home, somewhere close by with a restroom, etc.). Once the samples are collected, they are sent to a WADA accredited lab. Basically, it is the same as folks living in the U.S.

if he knows how to beat a drug test

Considering he's in his late 20s, it isn't out of the realm of possibility for him to look like that. Now a heavyweight in his his late 30s/early 40s looking bricked up...yeah, we may have to talk about that.

Plus, he debuted in the UFC while they were already under the USADA program. So if he's on something that's not designer, he would be considerably smaller since his debut at least.

Once again the danger of overcommitting.  Stanciu gassed herself out in those R1 sub attempts and ended both R1 and R2 in situations where she gave up her back.  Good on Moroz for being patient and not closing too fast as Stanciu got enough wind in her to flurry.

CroCop is in da house and the guy that KOed him by head kick is in the co-main.  Interesting.

This has got to be Moroz's most complete performance in the UFC. Most of her MMA career prior to this fight has been basically "sit in my guard so I can armbar you", which she only had to resort to in the final round when she had the fight already locked up.

Poor Ian Entwistle.  That is what happens when you overcommit to a technique.

The people there at the show are saying that Entwistle and his team believed Perez was greased up and were calling him a cheat afterwards. Either way, Entwistle's boom or bust leglock style isn't going to yield great results in the UFC. I thought Paul Sass and and the Sassangle was a novelty.

Cummings actually beat Dalby on the feet. Not enough pressure from Dalby. It was similar to Whiteford against Martins earlier on the card. Dalby felt Cummings' power early on and tried to keep distance. That's not exactly appealing to the judges when Cummings was landing the clearer, definitive offense.

  10. You can see the good and bad of TR not sticking Crawford against Pacquiao at this stage of his career. However, I think the bad far outweighs the good. I mean the worst thing that could happen is Manny clearly outpoints Crawford and then Pacquiao is never seen again so Crawford can never get his win back. I think though that one loss isn't the end-all, be-all of a young fighter's career if he is talented. You have guys far less talented than a Canelo Alvarez or Amir Khan who bounced back from a tough loss. Plus, I think someone like Crawford has way more upside than someone like Khan. However, when a lot of the quality guys (the ones signed with PBC) can't face him, why wouldn't you see what he can do with Pacquiao? How many times can you stick him in there with blown up featherweights and lightweights and/or lower level B and C fighters? You have to get him out of Omaha and the WaMu Theater at MSG at some point. Keep in mind that Arum himself said Timothy Bradley isn't a draw on many occasions. So are you going to throw him in there with a Kell Brook, who isn't even signed with an American promoter?

Charles Martin isnt too good at blocking punches.  Then he does the old I didn't really want to get up so I'll jump up when the ref says 10 and act like I just got jobbed.

He's also not good at tying someone up or at least trying to. His boxing IQ is questionable at best. As soon as he got up from the first KD, he was right in position for another straight right hand. He might as well just sit on the canvas.

FWIW looks like Joshua's first title defense will be on 7/9 (same day as Fury-Klitschko II) against Malik Scott in London.
