  1. Valdez overwhelmed and pummeled the holy hell out of Osawa as expected over seven rounds. Pacquiao vs. Vargas up next.
  2. If it wasn't for Jessica Penne, Heather Jo Clark would definitely have the roughest two fight opponent stretch in UFC strawweight history.
  3. Good scrap between Goyito Perez and Felipe Arantes. Goyito had a problem with his knee and almost got caught in a sub at the end of round 3, but held on to take a decision.

  5. Re: Do Bronx missing weight Chute Boxe is blaming the high elevation of Mexico City among other things for both Do Bronx and Felipe Arantes missing weight.
  6. I believe the UFC wants Bryan Caraway vs. Jimmie Rivera on this card.
  7. I don't really listen to F4D shows, but I didn't know he was out due to injury. I just kinda figured he was taking time off due to his first kid being born or they couldn't find him a fight.

  9. But they're banking on a giant TV deal though (especially in light of the sale) and that the market hasn't come undone yet. I think now would be the most opportune time to sign a new deal, but they still have a little bit before the current deal expires. I mean I thought it was crazy that people thought that football (both college and pro) ratings would just continue to skyrocket. It was crazy that ESPN had to pay back companies that advertised on their networks during the climax of last year's bowl season because there wasn't an absurdly high number even though the actually #s were stellar virtually compared to anything else. Now, the NFL ratings are down but I think a lot of that is not so stellar matchups in primetime. The fucking Bears have like 4 primetime games before week 9. People are underrating how much football is star driven. When stars are retiring, out injured, or suspended in addition to teams being absolutely shitshows (and not in a fun debacle kinda way), it's going to have an adverse effect on ratings. Some of these games are just bad, and it's only going to get worse. It's just a lot of risk associated with doing the whole rebranding/network thing. I'm not a real big wrestling fan, but I will admit the WWE is more suitable for having a network on cable than the UFC. The current WWE network is doing okay, but it's still under their projections and most likely going to stay that way. The UFC is so much geared towards live fights. When you have down periods, it would pretty much bring the network rating averages to a grinding halt. I think the only way it would be able to sustain through that is if they had a WEC or one of these feeder leagues got a hot enough to justify having it on TV. I could legitimately see something worthwhile if like WSOF, Invicta, and maybe a couple promotions with real talent based their schedule around the UFC and did shows on the network like it is currently online. Maybe have RIZIN live and then show it taped delayed later that day. Other than that, people aren't really going to watch in a decent numbers outside of live UFC events. With the cost-cutting the current regime wants to do, it's really not worth it to them.
