  1. HOLY FUCKING SHIT! DID I JUST READ THAT! Jingus with the fucking post of the goddamn century Holy shit incredible I CAN'T BREATHE
  2. How do we feel about acromegaly? Because that would mean combat sports and basketball would have that on lock.
  3. Well, it sounds like the advance screenings are being held off until Thursday night. That is not a good sign. I already read that it's tracking towards less than $15 million for a three day total.
  4. There are plenty of historical pieces about MMA that Dave could have written as well. There is always going to be something that cuts into the coverage of something else. If a big WWE story breaks or New Japan puts on a top notch iPPV, I doubt a story about UFC fight night bonuses would be the first or most detailed thing you see. However, the UFC is coming off the upset of the year and heading into another transition in their television programming. In addition, the biggest fight of the year was made. That's not even mentioning the UFC finalizing the rest of their PPVs for the year. I'd expect there to be coverage.
  5. Olympus Has Fallen was just outright violent. White House Down is downright hokey and corny with the awful dialogue and terrible stuntmen. Eckhart didn't come off as presidential, but Jamie Foxx came off as your average third place finisher mayoral candidate with how terrible the script was. It didn't feel like a movie that cost $150 million. Everytime they had news coverage or a presidential press conference thing on television, it came off as really cheap. They couldn't spring for some realistic looking television graphics? No one speaks how people were speaking in this film. Also, James Wan (Saw franchise, Insidious) is the new Fast & Furious director.
  6. White House Down was the worst movie I saw this summer. From the sound of the bullets to the dialogue, there was nothing redeeming about it. Just absolutely godawful in every way.
  7. She had to get that from her parents or older relatives because I don't think anyone used "boy of color" since Eisenhower was in office.
  8. It's missing about 50 or 60 names, but they tried at least.
  9. He is only been covering it for like 20 years and his coverage has varied based on the success of the sport. If the sport was at the pre-Zuffa purchase levels, I doubt he would consider working for MMAFighting and devote only a few paragraphs to it in the WO. But it's not and part of his living comes from covering it. Get the fuck over it. Goddamn.
  10. Stop hating on Tony Stark! I don't ever remember him doing anywhere close to the damage that Gipsy Danger was doing. Tony is more responsible than rolling in a suit that is 260 feet tall.
  11. I liked the Pentecost character WAYYYYYY more than Idris playing Janek in Prometheus. Janek came off as unauthentic whereas I could see Stacker Pentecost actually existing silly name aside. Both characters were written the exact same way with pretty similar outcomes. Pacific Rim actually gave you a reason to at least care slightly about him instead of being generic leader/captain #4345. Out of all the characters, the only problem I had is with Becket. The movie assumes that you can believe that what happened with his character and his brother was an aberration. You really don't see him prepare himself MENTALLY to get back into a Jaeger. I can see him better understanding all the risk involved (as emphasized in the movie), but you don't really get a good sense that he is fully prepared to take the task of risking himself and others. I would at least expect him to consider the lives of others more, but instead, he is pushing Kaijus into buildings that may or may not be occupied.
  12. You can still make those type of movies, but it gets very gritty at the box office during this time of year. Take a look at the schedule for 2014. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes went to mid July while the X-Men movie gets the prime May spot with very little competition. There is no way that Dawn is going to take #1 if Fast Seven comes out a week before. If it had stayed in May, it would have at least had a realistic shot at taking number 1 the week after Godzilla.
  13. "I'm good enough. I'm smart enough. And doggone it, people like me."
  14. The only thing deep about Pacific Rim is the underlying subplot revolving around competition (father/son, the scientists, brothers, the Jaeger pilots). That's about it.
  15. Universal spent too much on R.I.P.D. Like $120 million dollars too much.
  16. You missed the one page on people who constantly bring up shit that they can't do anything about.
  17. I declare war on any man who stands up for Bucky Larson and/or Jack and Jill. That's almost like funneling money into terrorism. I'm going to equate it as such. WHY ARE YOU SUPPORTING TERRORISM?
  18. Yeah, that was awesome. You can't script someone to be that creepy in between rounds.
  19. "Slightly" Angel McCoughtry just looks like a plain chick to me. Compared to like 70% of her contemporaries, she doesn't look that bad. Anyway, I nominate Raphael and Junior Assuncao.
  20. Keep in mind, Thomas Tull has Mass Effect, WoW, Gravel projects already in development along with a sequel to Pacific Rim. Then, you have Legendary Pictures signing the deal with Universal last week. That's not going after internet buzz, but trying to corner the market.
  21. Mickey Rourke was ......yeah. Rockwell was underutilized IMO. Pearce was just fine, but Ben Kingsley was hilarious. I'll admit having two villains (or 1 1/2 in the case of IM3) to supplement for one good villain is just fucking weird though. And I liked Iron Man 3.
