  1.

So as more and correct information gets out, here's some more about the UEFA Nations League

    4 divisions of 12-14 teams.

The winner of each division receives a Euro 2020 spot without having to qualify.

The initial breakdown will be based on UEFA National team qualification. If the breakdown happened today,, this is what it would look likeL

    Division A: (4 groups of 3)

Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, England, Portugal, Greece,, Russia, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Ukraine, France, Croatia

    Division B: (4 groups of 3)

Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Serbia, Turkey, Slovenia,, Israel, Norway

    Division C: (4 groups of 3)

Slovakia, Romania, Austria, Poland, Montenegro, Armenia, Scotland, Finland, Latvia, Wales, Bulgaria, Estonia

    Division D: (2 Groups of 4, 2 groups of 3)

Belarus, Iceland, Northern Ireland, Albania, Lithuania, Moldova, Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, Faeroe Islands, Malta, Andorra, San Marino, Gibraltar

The whole thing of whether people get relegated/promoted or go through to play-offs makes my brain hurt. Surely it would be both if you hadn't already qualified for the tournament in question?

If you've already qualified for the tournament, wouldn't you want to try to get relegated as an insurance policy for next time? And why is a club manager going to want to give their players up 6 times in a 12 week period for potentially heated games. It's a huge mess.

It's one thing to have 24 teams in the EURO, but there's still only going to be so many places in the World Cup qualification stages to fight over - unless we're going to start having 5 team group stages in the finals or something.

    I like this not.

The playoffs to determine the division winners (and thus the early qualifiers to the next Euro) will be before the Euro qualifying matches start.

  2. What a game between Sri Lanka and England. England could chase down a massive total

Edit: And they pull it off, going from two wickets down without a run to 190 for 4, Hales with an England record 116 (not out) off 64 balls.

    Riveting. Absolutely Riveting.

  4. A new international competition, the UEFA Nations Cup will begin in 2018, and replace most European international friendlies, with promotion and relegation.

Edit: Looks like the top division, Division A will feature 12 teams in four three team groups.

And this will take some pressure off in Euro qualifying, as four European Championship tournament spots will be awarded to the top finishers in Division A.

  5. Ouch. The same Netherlands team who could've probablty scored 250 against Ireland score 39 against Sri Lanka in a blink and you'll miss it massacre.. Netherlands score is by far the lowest in a T20 international (previous record was 56)

  6.

So, is the internet being ironic with its love for Alpha Protocol or what? This is not a very good game.

Do not get me started on the shittyness of Alpha Protocol.

Yeah, the good thing for the two of you is that on the Internet, you're allowed to be wrong. Completely, utterly and totally wrong in fact.

  7. I should say that I've seen this situation before (a team assessed a T for playing a player who wasn't in the scorebook before a game).. twice actually.

However those two games were JV High School games (and that was in a decade of doing scorebook and then scoreboard/announcing for Franklin High School)

  8. Tough vote here.. but I have to go with Goldust because.. let's put it this way. No one expected that Goldust in 2013 would come back and have some absolutely jaw dropping, stunning,  great matches.

To paraphrase above: Bryan's hit for average (let's compare it to say.. a .350 average)  for most of the year, but Goldust has had a half year of "Do not look directly at Goldust or you will go blind from the light/heat" hot streak. (I'd say a .450/.500 average with power and steals)

And while it shouldn't, I think to myself.. this time next year Goldust will have said "That's enough, I'm done", while Daniel Bryan will once again be here.

  9. Well, the results:

Ireland win a squeaker against France to claim the title, England devours Italy by 40.. and Scotland.. Oof. Scotland was only down 10-3 when they had a man sent off for a late shoulder charge (ref originally gave a yellow, saw the replay on the big screen, and decided a red instead), and Wales said "Thanks. Your brush with greatness is now OVA!" and scored the last 40 points of the game to win 51-3.

That brings down the curtain on international rugby... for a whole week at least, next week USA takes on Uruguay in Montevideo for the first leg of their Rugby World Cup qualifying series.

  10. And.. the season begins with an upset? Greater Western Sydney Giants (one of the two newest clubs in the AFL) just shocked the Sydney Swans. How big an upset is it?

Consider this: The GWS Giants started last year 0-17 (they finished 1-21 on the season). As a new expansion team, they get a slightly larger financial cap, but they were 12-1 underdogs. The announcers called it a miracle.

And boy howdy did Freemantle gob Collingwood.

  11. Good news, GoG realize they've done fucked up with regional pricing (IE, allowing publishers to set a price for the US, a different price for the EU, or Australia).. and are fixing it. How so? In cases where the publisher DEMANDS regional pricing, they will eat the price difference rather than pass it on (For example, game selling at $50 US, and the equivalent of US$70 in Australia, GoG will eat that $20)
