  1. I'm not surprised a Jets player made a casual anti-semitic comment on a livestreamed interview.

I am surprised it wasn't their QB, however.

Now, I don't think it was truly "anti-semitic", but even casually saying to an interviewer that "Y'all (Jews) run the world" is a bad look

  2. I'm going to bring the Sauce Gardner thing to a different thread, but I just saw this about what the changes to the kickoff rule mean:

"While this rule likely means the death of the onside kick, there is a rule allowing onside kicks to be attempted in the fourth quarter. A team trailing in the fourth quarter is allowed to attempt one, though they have to announce their intentions before the play. The current onside kick rules apply from that point forward."

Actually, that gives me another pause. it will be even more impossible to recover an onside kick if the other team is allowed to put all even players within 10-15 yards of the kicking line. Does that mean you can "SAY" you're going for an onside kick and then kick it deep?

  3. Never mind a lucky rabbit's foot, they have a lucky rabbit with a horseshoe made of four leaf clovers rammed up its keister. Coming back from two goals down in both legs of the tie against Quarag, the second leg scoring twice in injury time to advance 5-4. Kerrrazy.

  4. Saw something about how some folks are thinking the NCAA tournament should go to 80 teams with the lowest 32 teams playing a first round game, and 48 teams advancing directly to the round of 64.

Mainly, this is at the behest of the big conferences, who want an ever bigger share of March Madness money to teams that are only like .500, but they do have a point in that less then a fifth of the teams qualify for the tournament.

However. Half the fun of March Madness is the teams we know very little about (nationally speaking) pulling off the upsets and breaking everyone's brackets.. So, I've come up with a compromise that hopefully gives the majors and mid majors what they want, while making sure the smaller teams  get a fair shake (and also gives the NCAA more money to send out).

All conference champions (big or small) get put in the round of 64 automatically, along with the top at-large teams to make up the 48 teams.

That means 32 at-large teams get placed in the NCAA Tournament first round, but the losers in this round automatically get a seed in the NIT.

So, the NCAA has an additional 12 games to sell in their premier product (reminder, we're at the field of 68 now), the NIT gets a small boost because teams will want to end their season on a high after losing in the tournament, and the big and mid-major conferences will get a few more bids.

    (Just to break this down:

Auto advancing to Round of 64: 32 Conference Champions (current amount), 16 At-Large Teams

Playing in NCAA Tournament First Round: 32 At-Large Teams)

  5. Alyssa Naehr had a crazy finish.. going to get a cross on the final kick of Extra Time, misses the ball and clears out the opponent, giving them a penalty that sent the game to PK's.. and then decided that she was going to make up for it in PK's.. She made three saves (out of 4), and converted her PK (she actually went third).. USA advance to the final

  6. Speaking of FTR:

I'm lukewarm on them as faces, but understand their position in AEW, but I think what made them special as heels was all the small things they did to get the fans into the match. They broke the rules, but never to show up or do unnecessary stuff, stuff like where the out of ring member of FTR would drop off the apron, run over to the other side and pull the opponent off the apron before a Hot tag could be made). Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that Blackpool Combat Club is more now about violence then being the best wrestlers, I think they would really fill a role in the BCC.

  7. Honestly, if they want to give Will Ospreay the rocket push while keeping him out of the title hunt for now, they should have him be smart.

Have him absolutely stuff the turn attempt by Don Callis, and then cut the following promo.

"Don, I'm not a bloody idiot. I've seen what happens to your "Family" members. I've talked to Kenny (Omega). I've talked to Chris (Jericho). I even talked to Sammy (Guevara). One of us was getting stomped into the ground tonight after the match, and because I KNOW you didn't tell me that you wanted Takeshita out, I knew I suddenly had a target on my back, ready for the knife to be stuck in. So, for once, someone's going to be one step ahead of you And if you think about getting revenge, don't. I'm a better wrestler then your family, and I'm sure as hell SMARTER then your Family is."

Then Callis goes NUTS (How DARE someone outsmart him), throwing Takeshita and Hobbs at Ospreay relentlessly, probably with Fletcher joining Ospreay to take losses in tag matches to further the feud (gotta give the heels SOMETHING), and then when a certain someone is ready, have them take out Fletcher and say "You have no tag partner now".. and Ospreay says "I was one step ahead of you AGAIN, Callis.. I called a favor in with an old enemy of mine, who wants to kick your ass as much as I do".

The Return of Kenny Omega. The place comes unglued.
