  1. I think Lance and Smith Jr. need to chill out a bit with their crowd appeals. Like after every move is a bit much, particularly when the crowd doesn't usually respond much if at all.

  2.

Almost through Day 8. I thought Suzuki vs Ibushi was a big bowl of wonderful.

I liked the match in a purely subjective kind of way. If you want to talk about not selling the leg, damnit Kota you're awful at it. That dandy little fop spends the whole match switching between moonsaults and POWERBOMBS?! (I hate him) and acting like there's a believable way he can compete on Suzuki's level. Suzuki smacks the hell out of him; Kota puts his hands on his hips, makes a face, and engages in a striking exchange - a striking exchange in which Suzuki instantaneously CHUMPS him, stiffs him, chokes him and spikes him.1, 2, 3, go home. Oh, I was marking.

Suzuki's complete muggings of Ibushi and Takahashi were supreme. I love that man. It's a shame he had to go and do that legitimate buwwshit in Pancrase, wasting away his prime years. I enjoyed the Yano match from day 9 as well.

Final show was a lot of fun. Tanahashi edges out Ishii as MVP of the tournament. Naito is still a li'l too generic post-Toryumon/Dragon Gate Japanese dude for me, but I can see the appeal. Ibushi can fuck off.

Okada's facelock submission has to be the worst. The opponent's right arm is free and RIGHT BY OKADA'S FUCKING HEAD. ELBOW HIM.

Great G1 in all. '02-'04 brought the fun but I'd probably put this one ahead of those.

  3.

If Philly really wanted to tank they should've just signed Iverson and made him player-coach. I'm sure people would've come out to see Iverson play 1 more year and witness the horrific awesomeness of his coaching.

Player-coaches are not allowed under the CBA.

This is why we can't have nice things.

  4.

This is...this is so beyond stupid. No way could this have been real. Dave had to have been worked again by someone from the company.

I don't know. They just put Trips in the main event and he and the McMahons are involved at every turn. They're fucking delusional. Vince's heel shit from the late '90s is going to haunt us until the day he dies, yet Stephanie would still be there.

Yeah, thankfully Austin's not as thick as the above.

SwayZe or anybody...cab someone grab a image cap of the describred poster below...sounds bad arse.....damn, how do I get outta these quotes??!!!

I so want that poster in JJ's house, with the Horsemen in suits toasting behind two bloodied jabronies and a busted table. So sweet.

It's more elaborate than I first saw.

Only bummer is it's the Luger version of the Horsemen.

  6. Damien Comolli works for West Ham. Must be.

Also, I semi-lawled at a few Rawkites spouting the typical "gave his all" comments towards Downing. He did not. He only started to give a damn when he was told he'd be sold and by then it was too late. He even admits as much. And even then he was slightly above average. Fuck him.

  7. Eddie, Benoit, Malenko, and eventually Rey 'n' Psicosis bringing the in-ring abilities and the Raven/Dreamer feud supplying the drama would put it ahead of '96 by a decent margin. Austin dropping by and Sandman vs. Mikey was also enjoyable. And the Public Enemy training Mikey! That was one of my favourite bits from ECW.

'96 had the halo incident and Pillman though.

  8. Yeah, Natural, if you haven't done so already, check out ECW '95. By far the best year of the promotion. I'm going through '94 and it's quaint and enjoyable but it's amazing what the Raven/Dreamer feud did for the company. The transformation from Tazmaniac to Taz helped to. In general, Heyman's booking was much tighter; it helped that he got rid of the fat from the early days still lingering around in '94 (lookin' at you Tommy Cairo).

  9. 100 hours into Skyrim and I'm not even close to finishing the main quest, the thief guild quests, the dragon priest mask quests, the daedric quests and becoming a Thane in five holds.  I also have a lot of places to find: caves, dwemer ruins and orc strongholds.  So much to do!  My character is a mage primarily using the Archmage's Robes and Morokei to fuel massive destruction spells, but I've had to lean on my conjuring skills recently because I made my destruction skill legendary.  "Oh hai bandit.  Here's a dremora lord to play with!"

So a question: how good/important is the DLC?  I already bought Hearthfire and have built two houses (my family lives at Lakeview Manor), but how are Dawnguard and Dragonborn?

Just went through Dawnguard for the first time. It was good, though I'd look for it during a sale. Lots of sidequests for minor characters but the main quest for the vampire hunters isn't all that long. You'd get more out of it as a vampire, of course.

Haven't played Dragonborn's storyline at all but it adds a pretty big island you can visit by boat.

  10. Blue Wolf couldn't lace Scott Norton's boots... While I'm thinking about it, I don't think Norton could lace his own boots with those arms of his.

    But, yeah, pictures.

This team right here... these guys?

  11. Tenryu, Jumbo, and THE MONSTER MENG just moved way up my all time dream team list.

    Fuck that would have ruled.

    From Wrestlingdata.com:

    AJPW @ Tokyo

    14. Juni 1984 @ Tokyo, Tokyo (Japan)
Gen'ichiro Tenryu, Giant Baba, Jumbo Tsuruta and King Tonga defeated Tiger Jeet Singh, Umanosuke Ueda, Goro Tsurumi and Buzz Tyler [Elimination Match]

He teamed with Tsuruta and Tenryu a bit while in All Japan. He was only baby Meng at that point though.

    Then there's this:

NJPW Summer Struggle - Day 22

    21. Juli 1999 @ Nakajima Sports Center in Sapporo, Hokkaido (Japan)
Scott Norton and Satoshi Kojima defeated Gen'ichiro Tenryu and Meng
    Not taped. :(
  12. Shibata/Okada from Day 6 was bitterly disappointing. I don't think Okada cared much for Shibata stiffing him. He gets his ass kicked for the majority of the match then all of a sudden, after being near death, just gets up and hits three moves in quick succession without any selling or delay and wins. Shiiiiiiiiit. This show, so far, hasn't been very good either.
