  1. Just as an indicator of how bad Arsenio's ratings must've been, he launched a $1B campaign to buy the Clippers via donations (should he fail to reach that goal, donate to NAACP), and despite being on a nationally televised program, raised.... Does anyone wanna guess?

    $3,545 LOLOLOL

It's bad timing now. Whatever momentum it may have had died with the cancellation announcement.

Thanks to the sharp eye of fellow BoDer BretHart1987, I can confirm that Clash of the Champions XXII has been uploaded. Go to Search, type in Clash of the Champions, and at the bottom of Page 1, you will find it. I am unable to find where it via any other method. The show has a one hour and forty five minute running time, so it should be the entire card. Check it out!

    Here it is: http://network.wwe.com/video/v32355055

    The card.

  3. So I've been talking up parts of Valiant 3.0 pretty hard here the past couple months.  Now they're doing chromium wraparound covers.  I feel vaguely betrayed, even though as a digital-only consumer it affects me not at all.

That reminds me of how much I need to catch up with X-O Man of War & Harbinger Wars. I only read the first arc of X-O.

  4. I'm a huge mark for oral histories. Awesome.

Same here. It makes for good nighttime reading.

The Nickelodeon one I'm reading now called Slimed! is the shit, but it doesn't tell you who people are, so you either know, kind of figure it out by context, or have to google a lot. Been a combination of all three for me.

I think it's one of the criticisms I made when I reviewed the book. The author didn't immediately note who most of these people are and probably assumes that every reader is a Nick superfan. The appendix at the end lists who everyone is so going back and forth was a bit tiring. Also, I got caught up in the hype such that I watched the Nick reunion show they did.

(The whole thing was on YouTube, but I can't find it.)

    EDIT: Here it is!

  5. Dredd: Mega-City Two: City of Courts #2 is out. I reviewed the comic; I dig it as a quasi-travelogue of an unfamiliar locale in the Dredd universe.

I plan on sending questions to Leah Moore & John Reppion for an interview, but I can't think of good ones since they've done many interviews about their upcoming Vikings comic for 2000 AD. I'll take suggestions, but please nothing about Leah's dad because I don't want to look like a fanboy. Also, they've covered that topic on their website FAQ.

  6. This season doesnt seem as focused as others.  Maybe it's losing a little zip off the fastball.

Agreed. I used to REALLY look forward to watching it. I'm reluctant to watch last night's show now. The direction of the characters seem to be iffy and the jokes aren't as fresh.

  7. King of the Nerds season 2 began last night. The elimination was decided by a half-trivia, half-broomstick-riding event called "Nerdditch." I don't have a favorite at the moment, but there could be some more awkward contestants than in season one.

For those who hated last season's ending, I've been assured that the new finale has been "ramped up."

I wrote a full recap of last night's episode.

I also have been interviewing contestants. Nicole, the first season 2 contestant, happily enough, is a chemist, roller derby player, and a self-professed heel mark.
