Also, struggling through s2 of Friday Night Lights, its a bit of a chore but Santiago, Saracen and Riggins have been highlights.
If you really are struggling, just go ahead and skip to Season 3. Seriously. You'll see why, if you haven't already been told.

Before I break my arm patting myself on the back, I apparently misread the schedule and didn't realize that Davis is playing the Seahawks this week and now I have another desperation waiver move to make. Already having to account for Cruz's injury, Green's injury, and Mike Evans' bye week.

I won't further derail this, tempting as it may be.
So here ya go, Washington football fans, MRAs, and fans of epic NFL stupidity,
Joseph Randle arrested for attempted shoplifting of underwear and cologne.

Got a feeling that Winston is about to thrown under the bus in Tallahassee. It's bad enough FSU felt the need to cover for his alleged raping and pillaging, but they're having to deal with Title IX investigations and now this. As soon as they can, FSU is going to cut ties with Winston, and Fisher too if he insists on always coming to that damn sociopath's defense
I give Winston five years before he winds up in prison.
"As soon as they can" meaning January 10th, 2015 or so.

My Austin Davis gamble didn't hurt me, as my opponent's team totally shit the bed.
Looking ahead, I'm in a world of hurt, literally. I don't want to have to pick up Peyton Hillis...
-
My domination of the Emeritus league continues, while my up-and-down in my pay leagues also rolls along. Think I'll end up 3-3 in all 3.
Took a gamble this week and am starting Austin Davis over Foles (from Austin). Nick did his usual 17-point performance, hope I played it right.

Alabama is going to get fucking drilled by A&M this weekend. Suddenly I'm grateful that my sister scheduled her wedding for Saturday.
Surely you guys have some semblance of an offense and a pass rush?

I'd like to thank the Texans for letting TY Hilton go off. His point outburst (and damn wish I had that first TD too) *might* help me make up for having to have Bernard Pierce and Roy Helu as my two starting RBs. This is that 14-team league I mentioned with too many bench slots, and I was drafting #11. I missed out on the top RBs, and then forgot it was a 14-team league so I didn't get my almost immediate flip. My best RB is Ryan Matthews, followed by Mark Ingram and Shonn Greene (winning early didn't help me get any waiver wire help either).

It's hard to sell you on Texas competing in that game, let alone winning it. It doesn't help that OU is coming off of a loss, so they will have extra motivation going in-- not that they need it.
Yeah, and they'll definitely want payback for last year's shocking blowout.
Whatever, everyone better get their licks in this year.

Freddie is fine, the bigger issue is that Spiller has been pretty completely useless in the run game and the pass game, since Jackson is also a better blocker. Many would argue the game planing is doing him no favors but that doesn't change the fact he isn't producing. I still wouldn't drop Spiller though, I know in our league every starting RB, backup RB, and usually their backup is on a team. We're hardcore.
I'm in a 14-team league with too many bench slots, and the waiver wire is to the point where I think there are only 3-4 RBs on the waiver wire that are projected to score any points at all, and Peyton Hillis is the #1 guy available.

Red River Shootout. I want to believe, but at this point I'm just hoping my team doesn't quit and the offense shows some sign of a pulse.

Cedric Benson wants back in the NFL
And there are enough teams with shitty RB situations who should at least give him a call
He can join the other former Longhorns in Carolina

Okay, so I just picked up Branden Oliver off the wire as a short-term replacement for Rashad Jennings. With Megatron out for at least this week, here's how my WR/RB situation looks:
RB: Branden Oliver (vs. OAK), Andre Ellington (vs. WAS), CJ Spiller (vs. NE), Doug Martin (vs. BAL), and DeMarco Murry (vs. SEA)
WR: Randall Cobb (vs. MIA), Cordarrelle Patterson (vs. DET), Andre Johnson (vs. IND)
Brian Quick and Justin Hunter, two guys that have been named as waiver wire targets by several "Fantasy Gurus", are available in my league. I feel like I should pick up another WR for insurance, in case Andre Johnson's out this week. I'm thinking it might be time to cut Martin loose, or maybe Spiller. What do you guys think?
Also, I need 2 RB, 3 WR, and a WR/RB in the flex spot. Considering the first question, as well as the fact that return yards count in my league, who should I go with this week?
Thanks!
Fred Jackson is hurt, so now isn't really the time to cut Spiller. Martin hasn't been very effective. It remains to be seen if Oliver is more than a 1 week filler.
I can't believe that Brian Quick is still available, you really should pick him up as either your #3 WR over Patterson or as your flex. If you have a back-up TE or D drop them for him IMO.

I've always been one to use a mid-round draft pick for a dominant defense, figuring that the 5-6 ppg difference at that spot was worth more than your #4 WR at that point. But I'm starting to warm to the idea of streamer defenses (already do that with kickers to a degree), especially after getting mad points from the packers last night. Not sure yet if the success rate really carries over from week to week, as many guys are homers with their Ds.

I'm gonna watch these matches when the GF is away tonight. No way in hell could I explain my love for goofy Japanese wrestling involving Survival Tobita...again

Undefeated in our Emeritus league...the only free league I'm in.

My Longhorns play Baylor at home. I may have to sneak a full pint of bourbon into the game to make it through to the end.

Supposedly Red McCombs (big money UTexas guy and former Vikings owner) wanted Gruden as the UT football coach and had started making overtones to his people, and was thus petulant when he was essentially laughed at by the AD and other "Big Cigars".

Heads up y'all:
Detroit has the #1 defense in the NFL.
For their sake, they better be careful celebrating that fact.

One of the greatest parts of FunFunFun Fest is that they do 4 nights worth of FREE "Nites" shows for passholders. This includes bands already playing the festival, as well as bands brought in just for the Nites and a lot of local bands. It's another reason it's the best fest!
Here's this years list of Nites bands:http://funfunfunfest.com/nites

Both Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert are getting MRIs
With DeAngelo Williams already hurt - the Panthers have no healthy RBs at the moment
Damnit, why did Fozzy have to get hurt too! This was the chance I was hoping he would get there!

Yesterday at about 11 am Guided By Voices announced a handful of new shows for the tail end of their current tour, including Detroit on 11/29.
About 4:30 yesterday afternoon, Guided By Voices announced they had broken up again, and the remainder of the tour is canceled.
That's So Pollard!

I can't imagine wanting to be coked out while working in a toll booth.
When I was young, I thought The Barber was cool. Of course, I also hated Greg Valentine. I'm grown up now.

I picked up Bolden in one of my leagues for the same reason, but then I read their text that says that he's such a huge part of the Patriots special teams that he might not get a whole lot of work at RB. So I don't know. I would think that any of the Saints 3 would be better.
