  1. I just picked up Have A Nice Day off my shelf. It's pretty much the perfect book for just randomly reading a couple of chapters. ANYWAY, I stumbled onto the story of Mick trying to utilise some Harley Race carny knowledge and bust Tommy Dreamer open hardway with his finger knuckle above the eye. Prompting Dreamer to politely say "please stop hurting me" after Mick's fifth failed attempt

  2. Arn's double fist pump after a spinebuster was always choice too. There's one in the Starrcade 86 cage match with the RnR that is just glorious because Arn thinks he's got the win after hitting it

    James

Possibly my favourite part of War Games 92 is when he runs into the ring, DDT's Windham then hits the most pitch-perfect spinebuster I've ever seen on Ricky Steamboat. Cue fist-pumping

  3.

JT dislikes that he didn't get a giant boss battle type ending vs. Harbinger but generally was fine with the ending.

I didn't mind contemplating the sound of one hand clapping, but a soldier the caliber of Sheppard deserved to go out in one huge firefight against the asshole you'd been chasing after for two games now.  He deserved an active showdown with Harbinger and not a pasive showdown clicking through some dialogue boxes..

I was mostly annoyed with the ending because I romanced Ashley and she never got a chance to tell me the thing she promised to tell me once everything was said and done.

To that I would say the entire game is predicated on dialogue boxes and choices so getting to the ending that way seemed more than apt. Plus the battle in London was pretty much hell on earth

You should have picked Liara instead back jn ME1.

Look what it gets you later. :)

What does it get you? I chose Ashley as my love interest on my first and only playthrough as she was there from the beginning. When I finally get around to doing my GRAND UNIFIED PLAYTHROUGH I want the best possible story

  4. We used to have awesome battle royals on my mates patch of grass when we were kids, sometimes we'd use our bikes around the grass as a makeshift cage of death and you had to submit or pin someone to eliminate them. I don't remember any high-spots being used in the matches outside of for a finish, just a lot of side slams, DDT's, backbreakers, clotheslines and the like because we were old school. I also think we'd read to many issues of Wrestling Eye.

  5. I liked the ending (although I missed out on the first one and so went straight to the extended ending) but then again I liked the ending to Lost too because to me it's always about the journey and not the destination.

I played them as and when they came out but missed out on all the dev hype.

  6. Ahhhh I'd forgotten how long, boring and tedious the Mexico portion of Red Dead Redemption is.

    "Where is Javier Esquila?"
"I'll tell you, just help me with squashing the revolution"

    "Where is Javier Esquila?"
"I'll tell you, just help me with overthrowing the government"

"Okay I've done that, "Where is Javier Esquila?"
"I'll tell you in a bit, I still need your help. Go burn a village"

"Okay I've done that. Where is Javier Esquila?"
"The revolution still needs your help señor marston..."

AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHH!!!! And the map is bloody pointless - just
vast wastes of nothing and barely any side missions. I wish you'd had to just pick a side for the revolution and complete missions solely for them...or better yet just partnered up with Langdon Ricketts to help you track the outlaws. Just so lame.

With all that said I've finally made it to Blackwater/my favourite part of the game though. And upgraded my outfit to full on Rooster Cogburn:

  7. What do you mean by espionage?  Movie shit or stuff where you're just some old guy sitting on a bench and you leave a newspaper behind without talking to anybody shit?

I guess more towards your second example, looking for clues, point and clicky maybe. Obviously there's games out there such as Splinter Cell, Syphon Filter etc that touch on the spy/espionage genre but it feels like something that really hasn't been a focus in games. As I mentioned, Alpha Protocol tried to do it but it was a poor game (it marketed itself as the spy version of Mass Effect) and I remember In Cold Blood being good but very flawed action wise. These ideas came to me after just finishing Velvet by Ed Brubaker

Resident Evil is getting an HD remake for current/next gens. Release is early next year. I know the series hasn't aged well, but giving the first game a facelift is definitely a good thing. Now, about RE2 and 3...

Well technically it's just a HD upgrade of the Gamecube REmake that not many people got to play. Also, it's fucking awesome

I would give my left nut for a full remake of 2 though
