The last time AJ Styles was involved in a so-called WWE Dream Match it was against Nakamura and it was about the furthest fucking thing from a "dream match."

That was a bad day for me. I was so excited for that, and then the match just shit frisbees. Ugh. So disappointing.

You mean you’re not pumped for Styles and Rollins to set the world on fire with a perfectly competent main event DREAM MATCH?!

Lol. The sad thing is I’d watch Styles do just about anything. But Seth Rollins is contraception for my wrestling viewing habits. Even Roman has an interesting story now, and his delivery on promos is engaging, even if the material given to him is mashed ass. Seth Rollins can’t make bad material good, and can’t elevate any program he’s in with his work or promos. Yet he’s the crowned one. I don’t understand it.

Because Seth Rollins is the better (WWE style) wrestler, and Jon Moxley is the better talker? Not that hard of a concept to grasp.

That might be true, but during the boom periods, were the top guys the best workers, or the guys who could talk em into the building? I don’t think it’s a coincidence that there’s less interest in their product than ever while the least interesting personalities are holding some of their top spots.

Calling it now and it's not like this is much of a stretch, but I'm willing to bet Page beats Pac and then Moxley fucking annihilates Page post-match.

I said it in the AEW thread when it came out Ambrose was leaving; he’s staring down the pac/page winner.

This feels like a big deal. As bad as Wwe is right now, he could put a lot of eyes on the product of competing companies....

  5. Biggest "mark out" moments in my theatre:

    1. SpiderMan returns. I popped.

    2. Ant Man punching the shit out of that worm-cruiser.

    3. "Avengers! Assemble."

    4. Quill singing and dancing w no music. That shit got me. I laughed.

    5. Like 5 different things Rocket Raccoon said that I can't remember.

    6. The "fat guy Thor" reveal.

    7. "I could do this all day."

    8. Falcon coming in on Cap's headset for the first time. I was happy to see him and Bucky. And the Guardians. And Valkyrie. Damn she's fly.

I forgot, but somewhere between 2-4: "Girl Power."

So Alexa wins MITB and cashes in successfully the same night two years in a row? Not sure how that would go over. If folks are tired of Charlotte always at the top, that goes double for Alexa. At least most will acknowledge Charlotte is good. Alexa doesn't have that going for her.

But the only other heel for RAW's women that's viable right now is Ruby, and she needs to be rebuilt in the wake of the Riott Squad going under so much.

Ruby just jobbed to Dana Brooke on main event. Not looking so great...

Bliss would be the worst choice, especially having been the one to end Becky's first reign and used the MITB the same night last year. Neither of those need to happen again.

I get it, but Buddy Murphy is on Smackdown and they see Alexa as a star. Getting Becky to Raw to feud with Lacey and getting Alexa, Charlotte, Bayley, and Asuka feuding for the title on Smackdown helps both brands.

  8. @RIShanethat’s a good point. I hadn’t considered that. I thought Bayley looked the best she has in months, and she’s been trending up since January. I have no real evidence to back this up, other than teaching mma for s year or so now, but Bayley seems to let her feet get lazy at times. She was crisp and the match wasn’t technically perfect, but the slight flubs seemed to add to the intensity of the struggle.  Hopefully she’ll get a better spot moving forward.

Glad Charlotte pinned bayley. Nice they protected Nakamura.

What? Why? For Becky/Charlotte part 19? Bayley cut a great promo and brought her working boots. Charlotte is as stale as three day old beer right now. Ugh.

Thought they made Kofi look a bit weak. Kevin got too much in.

The returning Authors of Pain and/or Roode & Gable should have gone to Smackdown. Maybe a Gable/Shelton reunion?

Charlotte should have gone back to Raw. Outside of Becky on both shows, Ruby; Sarah; and Sasha?, that division is in pretty dire shape.

Alexa’s still there, I believe, if she’s medically cleared this week.

  11. Since Bayley's name came up, if I were someone in the front office at WWE, I'd sit her down and talk to her about going back to nXt for a year. You pay her her main roster contract, maybe even bump her up a bit, to sweeten it, but sell it to her as getting to be the linchpin for the brand again. Rehab her character, have great matches with a variety of women, and I think she lives in Florida, so she'd get to be there more. Also, I gotta imagine she'd be a top merch seller again there pretty fast, so her income potential goes up even more in an income tax free state. Keeps her away from Sasha, and lets the audience miss her.

As for Sasha, I guess I'm willing to concede at this point I just don't see her as the top level talent some here do. Not the CT guy who insists she invented cable television, but rational people here. She's good, but someone the company should go out of their way to feature? Nah. I guess with Ronda and Nia both out, there's a chance for her (and Bayley) to increase their exposure, but pushing her at the expense of Charlotte, Alexa, and Becky? Absolutely not. And race has nothing to do with it. Their characters play better to bigger audiences.

I swear to god, unless I see some fucking proof of this "boo boo face" that keeps coming up - unquestionable proof that Sasha Banks is visibly telegraphing dissatisfaction at the upcoming conclusion of a match - I'm assuming that anyone who says it is wearing a helmet to avoid serious head trauma from putting one foot in front of the other.

Also, I think some of you have me on ignore, because I've seen 2-3 mentions of "confirmation bias" since I mentioned it, and I jus want to know what I did to hurt y'all ...?

I wear a helmet so the aliens can't read my thoughts, fucker....
