Really dug the Nakanoue vs Nomura BJW Strong Title Match from the 20th September. And the Okami match, their Tag Title run has been good thus far.

The main event Scaffold Death Match between Miyamoto & Ito? Fine I guess. They built it up on the SamuraiTV well enough but still pretty inessential. Numazawa & Kasai vs Parker & Ishikawa was a decent death match & I'd say exceeded expectations even if Jaki should really be restricted to opening matches.

Miyamto vs Ito felt like nothing new. I recently rewatched their scaffold match from Death Mania 3, it was more fresh then. Almost felt bad as Miyamoto hits a moonsault off a scaffold and it meant nothing to me.  I am not really enjoying the slow build to Miyamoto vs Kodaka, I'm sure it'll be fine but Freedoms is blowing BJW's DM scene away. More exciting match ups and better in ring.

Nomura should get a good run with the title. The Strong division feels like it is carrying BJW right now. Nakanoue's reign was excellent but it was Nomura's time.

Maybe you were confusing it with that Freddie Blassie thing? Didn't somebody have a dinner with him as well, in some other movie, or something? I mean you obviously wouldn't confuse Andre with Blassie, but if you knew about one, then why couldn't there be two movies like that? Of course, whatever that Blassie thing was it may have come out decades later, so it's a moot point. So yeah, I guess nevermind, then.

You know, I think this actually what lead to this. I saw Man on the Moon around the same time. So I feel slightly less stupid.

I think my version of Dinner with Andre is better anyways.

Yeah I just watched it and loved it. Violento Jack is someone I’ve always thought was great, but in the last year I’ve realized the only guy on his level in the world right now is Takeda. The Jack vs. Masaoka Scaffold Match from 2016 (?) is one of the best deathmatches of the last decade that I really wish was released on more than just the one hardcam shoot I saw it on.

Violento Jack is just a good wrestler. He makes his matches interesting and not just about smashing glass everywhere. He deserves more respect.

  4. I would rather see Miyamoto-Numazawa by far. Ito has had some decent matches these last few years but he was never exactly fleet of foot. I presume we are getting Ito-Numazawa.

Just watch Freedoms. Violento Jack vs Masashi Takeda from the last Freedoms show is one of the best death matches of the year. Must see. It's just a well done match.

The best Gage match ever was probably Nick vs RSP at Spring Break this year. MDK All f'n Day.

Or vs RSP at Run Rickey Run from last year. Very similar crowd to Gage-Cardona.

As for tag team cage matches, I don't know if it was mentioned but the New Day-Usos Hell in a Cell match was really good from I think 2016 or 2017.

Zandig/H8 Club vs Joker/Necro Butcher/Toby Klein from COD7 is a crazy match. Also a good Nick Gage match. One of the first hardcore matches I ever saw. No tags but I wanted to mention it.
