  1. Went to two shows in Michigan back to back yesterday, RPW and ICW: No Holds Barred did a double header on IWTV. I am definitely still recovering from some mild heat exhaustion, two shows in the middle of a field, I felt the burning sun.

Krule, aka Mads Krugger of MLW, made an awesome entrance through a corn field to wrestle The Carver of Cutters Alley, billed as Michael Myers vs Leatherface. Felt like an ultraviolent IWA Japan revival. They did a fun spot where both were down, did the Undertaker sit up at the same time and stared each other down. Real life horror film!

Watching Nick Wayne Vs Osprey.  What's the general consensus on Nick Wayne? For someone so young I think he has light years of potential. Would rather see him stick it out on the indy's for a bit than TV but someone had to snatch him and I'm kind of glad it was AEW first.

He's very young but already regularly putting on great matches. I could see him really break out in the next couple of years.

  3. I'm excited for the end of the month as I have tickets to 3 shows in 1 week. Until year, I suppose somewhat ironic with covid stuff affecting crowds, I had only gone to a smattering of shows over the first 18 years of my life as a wrestling fan.

The first GCW show I went to, their Detroit debut, really kickstarted a love of live shows. I rewatched the replay the next day (my wife: are you really watching the show you were just at?) and have been to at least a show a month since then. I am a big fan of deathmatches and it was awesome meeting Joel Bateman, Big F'N Joe, Rina Yamashita and Masashi Takeda in the past 8 months. I saw a crazy deathmatch Royal Rumble in May!

I'm not one for big crowds so I'm not going to AEW's Detroit debut but a lot of indies are running in Michigan that week. So I will see Horror Slam, RPW and ICW No Holds Barred.  Very cool for me.

  4. TNA has it's moments but it is remembered correctly. Near-constant failures at booking and promoting. By this point, in ring alone doesn't cut it. Always hiring WWE Rejects, WCW burnouts, AJ Styles always the "future" of the company, and just wasting opportunities that to this day despite a name change and being the most well run they have been Impact cannot lose the spectre of TNA.

  5. That was what I took away from it. Ibushi was being pressured to return early from injury and it was the straw that broke the camel's back. Wild, I hope after all he has put himself through physically that he can rest and heal.

All I really want is to not care who the booker is. Stop mortgaging the future for 2 decades ago. The booking of Kaito Kiyomiya was criminal. They are doing nothing with Kinya Okada & Yoshiki Inamura.

That's the disappointing part of Noah. Okada couldn't even get a spot in the N-1 last year. Keep wanting Okada, Yano or Inamura to take that next step.

Poor booking since their Budokan show with Muto vs Go last year. Reading the translated comments about Nakajima vs Fujita on YouTube the actual fans didn't seem displeased by Fujita winning. I saw a few saying Nakajima needs to bulk up (?). There's always a seesaw effect when trying to please Japanese fans and western fans.

  7. I'm ok with it due to the history Kojima could make by winning it. The politics of it aside, he always shows up when he gets a big match. He had a wild No DQ with Ospreay last year and a great NJ Cup match vs Jeff Cobb, where he truly made me think he just might pull off an upset.

  8. Great final to the Champion Carnival. Go out of your way to see it, the clap only crowd can't help but cheer multiple times. A star is born here with Yuma giving it everything vs last year's winner Jake Lee, who sells his ass off. Best match I've seen all year.

  9. Enjoyed the last day before the finals for what it was. Crowd was very muted.

Kuma and Nomura didn't really go beyond 2nd gear but I didn't expect it to.

Suwama-Yoshi continue to have good chemistry. Poor Wada was getting it from Suwama and Yuma on this show.

Main event accomplished what it needed to, it left me wanting to see a big match between Aoyagi and Miyahara.

    Spoiler

I am guessing Yuma wins. Jake has been to three finals now, pretty impressive even if he doesn't win.

Depending on how much of a sick fuck you're feeling, the King of FREEDOM World Title match between Jun Kasai & Daisuke Masaoka from 29th March rises above the technical problems to be a pretty gross but extremely compelling match. But it's a Glassboard & Alpha Deathmatch so obviously not for the squeamish.

It wasn't as good as their match from late last year but still far better than most deathmatches.

Freedoms 5/3 show looks excellent. Daisuke Masaoka vs Toru Sugiura for the KFC, Jun Kasai vs Toshiyuki Sakuda, Violento Jack vs Kenji Fukimoto, Shuji Ishikawa vs Tomoya Hirata and more.

  11. Last two days were ok. Nothing really stood out to me as must watch. Kento and Yoshi continue to have good chemistry.

The last show before the Finals looks good, I like all three match ups.

    Spoiler

Guessing Yuma is beating Kento on the 29th, since he rolled him up today, and is facing Jake in the Finals. Go Yuma!

  12. Day 3 was really great, Nomura is killing it in this tournament, if you haven't seen his BJW Strong Title reign from last year, I recommend all his matches.

A lot of fat seems trimmed from matches and it's really benefitting everyone.

    Favorite matches so far are Irie-Ishikawa, Nomura-Aoyagi, Nomura-Suwama, T-Hawk-Ashino, and Lee-Irie.
