  1. TBH I don't know why Al Snow doesn't hit up Cornette to do commentary for OVW. It's  in Louisville and as long as they're presenting something vaguely resembling episodic Southern 'rasslin, I can't see Cornette wanting a ridiculous paycheque for doing it. There's a market out there for it.

Does Dean Hill still do ring announcing/commentary there?

In the new WON Dave said he was about to start a longer obit on Johnny Valiant when he learned about Bruno's passing (TLDR: Bruno got Johnny into wrestling and was a huge positive influence on his career), so we may never get that one either.

I've said for ages that the whole concept of a weekly Observer is obsolete in this day and age. Just print the news, and articles, as and when. There's no need for Dave to be recapping RAW and other mundanities at this point, one of his minions is more than capable of doing that. Dave should concentrating on business analysis and the lengthy articles such as obituaries and historical features.

Has anyone played the new UFC game? I was about to buy it for Xbox one and the reviews look pretty bad. Going to hold off til I hear more. Curious if anyone here has played it and if career mode is as laggy as the few that have reviewed have said

I have  (for PS4)  and it's bad. I'm comparing directly to UFC 2 which I played loads, and the graphics are worse, the fighters move really stiffly and awkwardly, the controls are clunky and the changes make no sense, you now have to press L1 & R1 to block low, and both punch and kick together to do an uppercut. The menu screens are less intuitive than the ones on UFC2, all the Bellator fighters are (obviously) out of the game, as are some of the legends, the new additions are mostly nobodies apart from Ngannou, they really should have added to the legends to make up for this, Tito, the Shamrocks and Couture at the very least should be in the game. People are saying the career mode is improved but I have  no interest in playing it since the actual mechanics are so bad. I requested a refund within a couple of hours of playing it, it's a major, major disappointment.

  4. The end of the last episode was a bit of a turn up for the books. With Simon's shows being so character driven, when dramatic events occur they have far more impact than in shows that are plot driven and have crazy stuff having in every episode.

Because the promotions that tried figured out it made no sense at all, and you need to figure that out as well.

It makes no sense at all to have the heaviest womans weight division being called Featherweight.

Because 135 lbs. shouldn't be called heavyweight. There's literally no gain to it. Nobody cares anymore who the "heavyweight" champion is.

People should care who the champions are. It's the job of promoters to make them care.

UFC will soon have 4 womens champions, at Strawweight, Flyweight, Bantamweight and Featherweight. It would be much easier for the casual fan to understand and easier to promote if they billed them as Featherweight, Lightweight,  Middleweight and Heavyweight. It's counterproductive to have Cris Cyborg, a big jacked up fearsome female fighter being  billed as the Featherweight champion.

If there's an argument against this (and not "nobody cares, it doesn't matter") I'd like to hear it.
