THE BRAWK LAWK. Man that's a move Lesnar needs to bring back in his next match with Cena. Just try and break him in half in the literal and figurative sense.

As for The Macho Man, I honestly believe had he not died Triple H could have gotten him to make peace with Vince over what ever it was. Triple H got Bruno and The Ultimate Warrior back. Savage could have absolutley happened and who knows with this authority thing happening we could have been talking about commissioner Macho after Survivor Series.

What else would you expect from WWE's writers, but a lame attempt at comedy for Erick Rowan? I'm afraid to think of what they could possibly come up with for Luke Harper? That he's a really big Duck Dynasty fan?

For those who don't know...that whole crazy eyes "I'm going to piece myself back together out of you" viginette is for Luke Harper.

It's sad that Rowan will be the odd man out in The Wyatt's if the best they can come up with is a rehashing of the usual backwoods creeper trope.

  3. that Dino/Kerry Mania match is legitimately the worst match I've ever seen between 2 actual wrestlers in WM history.

I think my favorite Martel match in WWF might actually be the MSG match with Kerry. Martel did a great job dealing with Kerry, who was clearly fucked out of his mind on something to the point where Gorilla and Heenan were making jokes about it on commentary. I remember Kerry hit Martel with a back drop and Monsoon said something like "he was nearly 50,000 feet high on that one" and Heenan quipped "that makes two of them". I really can't imagine how anger inducing and horrible it would be to have to work with and trust someone in that state. Martel was a true professional in that match.

There's a really good Martel/Savage match from a WWF Superstars episode (that I at least remember seeing on Superstars) from 93 or early 94. This video as crappy as it is has it on Wrestlefest 94.

I still love Martel's last run in WCW as many of us here do. It's a shame he got injured. He could have easily moved up from Television to United States Championship contention.

I wonder if Nikita would do a show for them and just give Rusev a nod of approval. Surely the WWE has cleaned it self up enough for him to associate himself with them.

The backstage thing with Nikolai Volkoff was completely awesome - it'd be like a tour of Russian wrestlers giving their thumbs-up to the new generation in Rusev.

I'm just picturing Ivan Koloff, Crusher Krushev, Boris Volkolf, Nicholai, and maybe Nikita all dressed up like old Soviet generals saluting Rusev. What a glorious thing that would be.

  5. God, Vince is in desperate need of some botox or something. For a guy pushing 70 he looked like he was about 95. The bags under his eyes say here's a guy who is probably living on nothing but 20 minute power naps. They really are going to find him dead behind his desk someday.

Ambrose getting the nod and thumbs up from Vince is no good. Ambrose should have just blown him off. Dean doesn't need anybody. The match with Cesaro was fun. It's a shame Cesaro isn't IC Champion and this wasn't a feud over that title. That would be some fun stuff. I'm all for rebuilding Bray Wyatt...but not at sacrificing him for Ambrose. I guess they're just gonna redo everything they did with Bryan and Bryan last year with him and Dean. I mean if it worked once...

Ziggler is an idiot. He should have said screw Cena, he's out for himself and he wants to be the one to end The Authority. Triple H's shooty promo about how if Cena's team wins Cena gets the credit and if they lose...well its just the guys under Cena's fault was so unintentionally funny.

Rest of the show I was flipping back and forth between it and Fast & Loud and then the WWE had to go and remind me football was on. You have to love how desperate the WWE sounds when they do stuff like "what football players are watching on Monday Nights"

I really hope the Brie/Nikki thing ends with Brie giving her the beating that Alex Reily gave The Miz.

Skipping along to the only part I cared about. RUSEV CRUSH. I'm so conflicted. I shouldn't root for a Russian...but Lana and Rusev are so awesome with their 1980's Nikita tribute act. I wonder if Nikita would do a show for them and just give Rusev a nod of approval. Surely the WWE has cleaned it self up enough for him to associate himself with them.

  6. Looking at these old Survivor Series team pics a fun game to play would be "who's the least drugged up in the photo". Also looking back at that weird team with The Iron Shiek in 91. God bless Vince for being like "look I know the Iraq wars over and he's from Iran, but damn it I'm gonna get some mileage out of this one".

  7. I'm tired of this internet thing where everyone wants Rusev to win the U.S. title and slap the Russian flag on it. I don't need to be reminded of Lance Storm. Plus, that piece of shit belt is a huge step down. I would say it's like Ric Flair in '91 going after the TV title but sadly that title had way more credibility than this version of the U.S. belt.

Well back in the olden days, the TV Title was still portrayed as being on par with the World Title since it was a World Championship in it's own right. Of course that more to do with Dusty's ego of "well if I'm not gonna be world's champion, I'll just make my own damn belt" and it was a pretty swank one.

Personally I think Rusev as United States Champion has so much potential. It could honestly be like Nikita. It's just a shame Putin hasn't fully reformed the Soviet Union. You want mega heat, Rusev tearing off the United States championship plate and putting one with a Hammer & Sickle in it's place especially in a real patriotic town would get some real hate.

  8. I'm surprised no one has mentioned the opening of the show yet. They put that video fo Vince begging people to sign up for the network and used the yes chants that The Big Show did according to the spoilers to be part of it. They even superimposed the video of Vince on the titantron and used all the fake crowd cheer they could for it.

Honestly it just really annoyed me to this.

The Diva's battle royal is all I watched because I was burned out from being up practically all night and day. AJ's bitterness towards the division was very amusing though. Paige Rae was all kinds of hilarious.

  9. The problem with the WWE is they think they are on par with the NFL and MLB. They think "well, we're the WWE...everyone loves us". Problem is outside the core audience everyone does not love them. Plus it didn't help that they have no clue how to utilize their own friggin libary of content or how to program a network.

  10. I love Chamber of Horrors, it's fucking fun and weird and awful and wonderful all at the same time.

Barry Windham on a team with Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and The One Man Gang seems like the most random pairing ever. Also I thought the Oz gimmick didn't last that long. Superbrawl to Halloween Havoc would have been a good seven or eight months.

Bradshaw looks like he's holding a large white used condom, too.

In that book he wrote "Have More Money Now", he talked about wrestling in Mexico and keeping his pay for the night in his boot and sock cause if he didn't it wouldn't be there when he got back. I'm guessing if that's what he's holding. Either that or it was him about to do his Homey The Clown impersonation on some poor guy in the shower.

  11. Alberto Del Rio is saying some guys on the roster (which may or may not be the Usos, or Bo Dallasl/Bray Wyatt) are getting $500 a match. Are guys in the WWE usually paid per match? I thought the main roster got paid on a salary type structure?

They do. If you break down the sallary thats probably the guys on the very low end of the spectrum. The ones not on tv or doing house shows are the ones really in a bad spot. Bray Wyatt might be way over but he sure as hell isn't getting upper midcard type money.

  12. DA BIG GUY needs to get the push they want to give to Roman Reigns when he comes back. Damn, that promo should have been on television with him on the stage being interviewed by Renee. Why does the WWE hide the good stuff on youtube where almost no one sees it.

  13. My favorite David Crockett line is still "the russian nightmare has come true, tony" after nikita won the best of 7 for the US title.

Now I'm sad that David wasn't commentating during the NWO. David losing his shit when the NWO destroyed the whole WCW locker room would have been up there with some Jim Ross calls with The Corporation.

  14. Man that ending sure was great for the Royal Rumble go home show. Maybe someone used the wrong scipt ending tonight. Kinda feel bad for everyone cause they probably wanna leave early and beat traffic and here they gotta sit around in gear waiting for that one minute on television on the end of the show that makes no sense what so ever.

It would be nice if Team Authority was not the usual suspects aside from Rollins. But yeah the Survivor Series should be nothing but elimination matches. There's plenty of minor feuds to carry a show with nothing but the elimination matches. Plus the teams need the cool names.

Henry should have turned heel last night and joined up with Lana. Lana needs a whole stable of superior athletes who just CRUSH for Russia and Putin. I'm honestly getting tired of The Big Show. This is all gonna end with poor Mark getting KO'ed and that will be that.

  15.

None of this wouldn't have happened if that pussy Daniel Bryan didn't get hurt.  IT's all his fault.  World's biggest heel.  Seriously though, the best thing that ever happened to D-Bry's championship reign was the injury.  I can only imagine the silly shit they would have him doing all summer.

Did they ever even mention his derring-do with the house robbers? Or leading the YES chants before the NLCS in San Fran? Why would you want to erase a guy like this?

Because they are god damned stupid?

That's about the best way anyone can put it. I mean this company craves "main stream publicity", but if it's not a guy they want getting that publicity then they don't give a shit. Like if John Cena chased down someone doing a home invasion on him and he put a guy in STF till cops come, you know they would still be talking about that.

  16. I can't get invested in Rusev because we all know what his end game is(hint it starts with Super and ends with Cena). That suplex to Big Show was crazy. I'd love to see Rusev against Brock.

I was thinking the same thing. Rusev vs. Brock would be a rather fun spectacle of clubbering.

So I was asleep during the first 2/3rd's of this PPV. I'm only pissed Ziggler/Cesaro didn't go the 2/3 falls. Whats the point of having a 2 out of 3 falls match if you don't go 2 out of 3 falls.

I woke up in time for Rusev/Big Show. I'm so conflicted for rooting for a Russian against America, but damn Rusev and Lana are so amazing. They easily would be the biggest faces in the company if they weren't against America. That suplex to Big Show was like a legit DAMN moment from me. I was surprised they didn't have Mark Henry turn his back on America. That might have been interesting.

AJ/Paige was fun. Torn lace suits Paige well. That leg trip off the barracade to the floor was nasty. I think Paige got legit knocked loopy on that.

The HIAC with Ambrose/Rollins was what it was. Would have been nice if Ambrose won before the Bray jedi stuff but its nice to see Bray with signs of life again. You figure at this point, Bray is evil for hire. That's not soo bad. It could be worse for him.

  17. Are people really still freaking out over Punk? He made his bank and got out before he had the chance to suffer any injuries that hurt his quality of life.

People need to get over it and move on.

I have. I'm content that he'll never wrestle again. That horrible Macho Elbow of his was destroying his hip. I'd rather the guy not need a new hip at 40 than come back and keep doing it.

  18. So I watched Cobra for the first time in ages the other night. I got it for like $5 dollars at Best Buy a while back and it was worth every penny. For starters it's the best proof of the theory that you NEVER...EVER cast a girlfriend or wife in a film you are doing especially if she's playing opposite you.

The film is so gloriously mid 1980's. Apparently there is a cut of the film that actually makes sense and got a legit X rating for violence, but Stallone and company scrapped that version to chop it into what was released because it was going up against Top Gun its opening weekend.

Also watched Short Circuit and man it's amazing to think that in the mid 80's we were so sure we would have these amazing robots that could do anything. 30 years later and we still don't have hunter killer robots that can also make a gin and tonic. I still heart Ally Sheedy though.

And I watched Blade Runner: The Directors Cut. I hadn't seen Blade Runner in so long that I forgot how trippy a lot of it was. Gonna move up to The Final Cut when I get a chance to see how much of a difference there is.

  19. This show dragged and dragged as the night went on. I was amused at them making a little mini thing out of who was the "real" main event and Triple H was "guy's its a double main event...duh". So with Orton and Cena we might get Brock vs. Cena IV or Brock vs. Orton. I can't say either one of those matches sounds like they are worth a damn. It's like just do a tournament with someone who hasn't won the title. There's plenty of compelling matches and stories that could be made just by using the Rocky template of the underdog getting a shot at the champion.

The one part I absolutely loved was Mizdow getting the win and The Miz jumping for joy "I WON...I WON". Then him and Mizdow on the ramp both going "I WON...I WON" just was tremendous.

AJ being the lone diva out in the Total Diva's thing is quite amusing. It's a shame AJ/Paige won't be in the HIAC. That might have been fun to watch. Still holding out hope for a ladder match at TLC with them.

I was concerned that it was almost 90 minutes into the show and there was no Ambrose (or maybe there was before I missed it. I was watching Fast & Loud and American Dad as well). Dean at the movies needs to be a thing for the network. Him with his own MST3K show just watching stuff would be great. There's so many old dumb movies he could watch and I'm sure with the WWE's deal with NBC they could get some old movies of the week at a discounted price to show. I can't wait to see how he promotes his version of Assualt on precinct 13 when that comes out.

Foley showing up was nice. Despite his brain being scrambled, he can still cut an amazing promo. It's a shame he isn't a manager. So many guys could benefit from having him be their mouth piece.

I'll watch the rest later on the DVR since I found driving at Le Mans on my Forza 4 video game more interesting during the last hour.
