  1. The entitlement theme has pretty much been an obsession for the local media the last year or two, so of course they're eating this up.  It doesn't show up on the list, but players are now banned from doing the hook em horns sign until they "earn it".

It'll be interesting to see how all this plays out with recruiting.  It's not going down well with a couple of top 2015 recruits so far.  If Strong isn't a success, I'm guessing the next guy will be more of a supposed players coach.

  2.

A lot of people are claiming that their personal vehicles have lost their insurance, so you guys should check yours.

The servers are back up?  I thought they were going to be down the entire 24hr period.

They were up this morning.  I got in around 9 AM central for a few minutes

  3. Wonder how they came up with the amount of money you could keep.  I logged in to check before I left for work, and they left me with 550K even.  I've made close to 10 million, but I've got no problem with that really.  I got to keep all the stuff I spent 80+ million to acquire, including all the ridiculous Pegasus stuff, so I'm definitely coming out ahead.  I still get to run over patriots with my dump truck.

Everybody will still have their tanks, but at least now blowing up personal cars will actually hurt.

  4. Question about the whole "Legendary" stat thing. I have my Smithing maxed out and have already got my Dragonbone weapons/armor that I plan on keeping for the rest of my playthrough. Can I use the Legendary option and re-distribute those points to other areas (say, Speech), or would they still have to stay in Smithing?

You can redistribute to other areas.

  5.

That's it, I'm getting my personal vehicle modded with explosives now.

Do not blow yourself up.  Dead fingers cannot pull triggers..  The crew needs you alive and beserk, not dead and inert.

Speaking of blowing yourself up, has anyone here ever successfully used a remote bomb or an ignition bomb against another player?  Whenever I watch WEAZEL when I am on a public server, I see most people on foot, using their own POV's, or rampaging in tanks.

Does the vehicle bomb trap ever work?  I would think not.

I've never seen it actually work.

I had some random try it on me during the mission where you interrupt a deal out by the ocean and use the cargobob to airlift a container for Martin.  I decided to go get in my car after the helicopter took off.  The personal vehicles were all parked together, and somebody must've thought I was going for theirs.

I was all set to try a variation during the Titan mission last weekend, after somebody blew up all the personal vehicles right at the start.  I loaded up the car I jacked with sticky bombs and was about to try suicide bombing the jackass when jstout figured out how to kick him from the mission.  I'm almost disappointed I didn't get to try it out.

  6.

Twice now I've failed the Titan mission because somebody blows up the tractor trailer with a rocket, making it impossible to get the titan out of the hanger.

I did the mission with a bunch of pubs and someone blew up the Trailer.  I thought it was game over, but our designated pilot managed to taxi the Titon out of the hanger onto the runway and get it in the air.  I was impressed.

So impressed that I nearly got my ass blasted by the Merryweather guys that respawn in the hangar.

You got a better pilot than I did.  Somebody tried to get the titan out both times, but neither one worked.  The one last night at least got it out of the hanger, but it was on fire when he left.  Wasn't a shock when he failed to get it to the airfield up north.

  7. Well that wasn't one of my prouder moments. Joined a random job with three others and got Los Santos Connection. It said "ambush the drug deal" so I drove over there and, forgetting this was the mission you needed to get in the vehicle for, promptly blew up the drug dealers with an RPG...including the vehicle we were supposed to take. Oops.

Pretty sure everybody has done this at some point on some mission.  I did it with a grenade on a mission to steal arms for Martin a few days ago.

That said, my new pet peeve is people that use buzzards on missions, where you have to collect something.  More often than not they end up taking out whatever you're supposed to collect with a well placed rocket.  Twice now I've failed the Titan mission because somebody blows up the tractor trailer with a rocket, making it impossible to get the titan out of the hanger.

We have had our share of mishaps with that mission.  Much like the opening scene of TDK where the Joker's gang double crosses each other during the bank robbery, Mark and Fresh personally executed half of the members of our own team during the Ambush The Drug Deal part (which used up all of our Team Lives in record time.  Too much dependence on Assisted Aim. ) and then got themselves perished, leaving me to finish the mission on my own.

    WHICH I DID~!

During the final part of the shootout at the airport, I took the high ground to deal with the cartel guys in the hangar and then went outside to settle up with the attack chopper.  One sniper rifle bullet through the brain case of the pilot and I was flying the spare Buzzard to Madrazzo's to get my fucking payday.

Most people think you actually have to drive the vehicle you take the GPS coordinates from to the scrapyard, but you don't.  You just have to make sure the truck doesn't get blown up during your attack. .

Much to Fresh's glee, he found out that if you hit your enter / exit vehicle button when you are near the back of the Declasse Granger, you can ride along outside the SUV while holding onto the roof rails SWAT style.

I did that mission last week with Dolfan and somebody else from the crew, jstout or Novacain I think.  We got to the hanger ok, but it quickly became Dolfan on his own, with us reduced to shouting "behind you!"  when somebody tried to creep up on him.  He managed to pull it off.  The best part was his surprise when he realized he had done the last 10 minutes of the mission solo.

  9. As we often say while accidentally blowing each other up or shooting each other in the heat of battle, "it's all good."

I felt sorry for Ffunguli for having to put up with my GTA buddies Boba and Turtle. I truly do apologize if they were causing you trouble. They both crack me up in their own ways. Boba curses like a sailor and Turtle's 13.

When I started playing this game, I had three Xbox friends. I think I have at least 20 now. One of my favorite parts of this has been making friends with completely random people. I'd love to get the crew and my gang of random yayhoos I met through Boba together one night and roll up 12-1 on some deserving moron.

There were three of us and three random players in a mission tonight when one of the random players blew up everybody's personal vehicles and then killed another guy a couple of times. Everyone else is trying to do the mission (which I think we ended up completing) while I'm on the Internet Googling "how to kick player out of mission GTA 5 online." I finally figured it out and we booted him. I wanted to try to find him in Freemode and stick a foot up his ass, but we kept doing missions. Good night for making money we don't need (yet).

Yeah, no problem at all.  I had a good time and we did a hot of missions.  I need the RP.  Turtle's voice makes him sound like he's about 5, which threw me off at first.  I had to mute because Boba was cracking me up during the Titan landing.

I had loaded up my car with sticky bombs, and was all set to be a GTA suicide bomber on that fool that blew up our vehicles till you figured out how to kick him.

  10. I didn't get on till really late last night.  Got into stuck into a group for Judging the Jury with 4 guys from one crew, and wound up doing 4 or 5 missions with them.  They were doing everything on hard, and just killing it.  None of them was really high level, but they were working together like a machine, completing pretty difficult missions really quickly.  Tried to hold up my end, but on at least one mission they had the whole thing mopped up before I even got to the objective.  Made about 12K RP in maybe 15 minutes.

Then I got into an LTS, with just one other guy on my team.  I got wiped out first, and then he proceeded to take out the entire other crew.  Apparently it was my night to get carried to victory.

  11. At some point, I'll probably actually do a mission in the storyline.  I think all I've done is the prelude robbery and a repossession for Simeon.  Poor Franklin has $328, and I'm really getting tired of the cutscene where his ex is yelling at him every time I start up the game

  12.

The freaky experiences keep topping themselves this week.  I decided to do one more survival tonight to level up my female character before logging off.  I head over to the boneyard, and get put in a game with two people that are in the same crew as one another.  When we start up, one of them sends me a party invite.  I decide what the hell, plug in my headset and accept.

Turns out I got put in with two girls, probably teenage from the sound of their voices.  They immediately start talking about my character's breasts, and about how horny they are.  It was briefly funny, but hell, I'm a million years old and graduated from teenage girls a couple decades ago.  After a couple minutes of listening to two girls do their best imitation of 12 year old boys, I'd had enough and set my headset down so I could ignore it.  Through it all, we kept playing the survival as normal.

Around round 6 or so I got a lull and decided to unplug my headset, forgetting that the chat sound would switch to the TV.  I've never been so grateful that my wife was asleep clear across the house from the XBOX.  One of them was out for that level, and was making some rather loud, peculiar noises that I'm sure would have raised questions had my wife been around to hear. The resulting frantic search for the mute button took care of that, and I was actually quite happy to fail that survival a couple of rounds later.  Looks like I'll be ignoring all non-crew party invites from now on.

And they say that only dude gamers are creepy!

I tried to join you in a couple of missions when I finally got back online but I kept getting booted because your session was full.

Next time, we'll just create our own session like normal and run missions.

@jstout:  Send me a Friend Invite so that i can bring you into parties if you are online.

I'll be online all evening till very late, but I won't always be at the machine.  My wife herniated a disk in her neck, and I'm taking care of her.  I can't always tell her to wait for my help while I finish a mission.

Supposed to take off for a couple hours to go shooting with my father today.  We'll see if that improves my shooting in the game.  The reverse definitely doesn't hold true.

I'd have traded places with you.

I think you'd be out of luck.  They seemed disappointed that I wasn't actually a woman.

Lester can eat a bag of dicks.  His missions are too much effort with too little payoff.  Usually the only ones I do now are for Martin.

I did do one for Gerald yesterday where you have to go to the big satellite dishes in the desert to rob a coke shipment.  Being able to call in a Buzzard made things a lot easier since I could just auto target all the snipers and use rockets to kill them.

As for Fort Zancudo, I did one mission with some random guy and we cleared it first time through.  I don't know if it was glitched or what, but I was able to land an airplane and just basically walk around the place until we started shooting.

Have you done Extradition yet? It pops up every day for me, but its 1-6 and our crew has not tried it yet.

It is for 1-6 but I think that you and I are the highest level guys.   I think that rate of success would be better if we ran with Rank 40 to Rank 70 guys in that mission.

I think we could run Base Invaders if Dragon flew Ron's plane in low and got as close to the fighters as possible.   Then we have two crew members take out the fighter jets while the other two guarded Ron's plane and try to keep soldier response to a minimum. If we all called Merryweather for air support or called in an airstrike, that would help blunt the Army response..

Then if we survived all of that, the first team takes the Cargobob while the other two fly Ron's plane out and we all just go low under radar over the ocean until we shake off the Wanted levels.

The tough part is that the soldiers have MG's and Carbines that can take you out quickly and Rhinos will respond if the Wanted level elevates.

Some of Lester's missions are dirt simple and the payday isn't that bad.  I was surprised by how easy Hack & Dash and the Parking Garage scenarios were.  I'm a pretty decent wheelman so i usually shake off the three star wanted level in Hack & Dash without getting one scratch on the FIB Buffalo and it is easy to ambush the enemies that show up after you swipe the documents in Parking Garage because they drive right into a crossfire while you have elevated line of sight.

I usually hate Madrazzo's missions that turn into deathtraps or have me chasing down someone through half the state like in some of Simeon's repo jobs.

I've got a level 120+ guy that I can throw in for that mission.  I'm mainly playing my secondary character, but I can dust off the high level dude for that.

  16. I'm off all week, so I'm doing a bunch of missions with random people to level up.  Don't know if there's a full moon in the game or something, but I have run into a string of dumbass.

Got stuck into the mission where you have to interrupt a deal out by the ocean, grab a cargobob and pick up the container.  Everything went fine.  We took out the crew, and did the pickup.  One of the crew is sitting on top of a hill and shoots down the damn helicopter with a RPG.

Right after that I got into a mission stealing weed for Trevor with 2 other people.  Again, everything works fine till we get to his trailer.  One of the other two parks his car right in front of the garage.  The guy driving the van we stole starts lobbing grenades at him.  Eventually they manage to take out one guy's personal car and the van, failing the mission.

Last night was the worst though, doing the mission where you steal two cars from the playboy mansion with a crew of 4.  Everybody has to go to the gate at the same time, and one person would not move at all.  For some reason that mission requires everybody to be at the gate together before you can progress.  The rest of us got pissed and started throwing explosives at out teammate.  At that point she starts screaming at some guy who's in the room with her, but not in our party.  He starts screaming back at her, calling her a stupid n*****.  That goes on for a while till somebody manages to take her out and she quits out.  The the guy that's hacking the gate can't get it to work.  He tries for like 10 minutes, but can't do it.  I tried to take over, but it wouldn't let me try.  The third guy starts beating the cars we're supposed to be stealing with a baseball bat.  After about 15 minutes total, I finally said fuck this, stuck satchel charges on both cars, and blew us all sky high.  First time I've ever been happy to fail a mission, just to get the hell out of there.

  17. If you don't already know, Rockstar has managed to break the Los Santos Connection mission, where you have to hack a computer and then interrupt a deal at the airport.  Apparently the only way to get that mission to work is to have somebody be at the hanger before the computer is hacked now.

  18. So out of the GTA DVDVR crew we got rolling, we are all sorta starting to come to natural "roles" in our team.

    J.T.: The Driver.

    Me: The Pilot

    Rippa: The Rookie

    Mark: The Hacker

Fresh: ... doesn't really have a special unique skill, other then making the games fun and getting the worst version of me out.

There are others (some of you who I don't know your xbox name from your board name, sorry) that are great to have in too, If anyone on Xbox wants to play some with us, it's basically just join the part chat and your in.

I played a couple games of LTS with the crew yesterday, then had to take off.  Still pretty new to XBL.  How do you find the chat other than getting invited like yesterday?

  19. Does anyone ever play Capture? Such a major deal to have so many new things to do come out and everyone just went "so?" People have been more excited about the arena roof race.

I actually like some the capture missions, if they're full or close to it.  Easy way to pad your kill stats.  If you have just a few on each team it's pretty terrible.  Got stuck one tonight that wound up 2 on 0.
