I'm guessing this year is going to be a lot of "Finally!" entries.
I hope Cyndi Lauper's phone is ringing.

Even though he got squished, I was happy to see Xyon Quinn make it to Smackdown. We met him on vacation, and he was very cool. I was able to give him some advice and told him he would be in one of my WWE history books someday.

Wow - I didn't even have the best book of the year with Flair on the cover.

"Nah, we're not screwing the fans tonight".
Sitting in the crowd, I was stunned that Steamboat really won the title, and so was my one wrestling-interested friend when I got back to the dorm!

Maxx Payne's gear in WCW, he looked like he was wearing a "Wrestling attire" version of his regular clothes.
From "King of Atlanta" - Page 64 - Beach Blast 93
4. Johnny B. Badd vs. Maxx Payne
Why did Payne wear a giant T-shirt calling himself a "Fashion Victim"? Didn't he choose his own outfit?

Shane Taylor hit Garcia with his finisher, which is just a hard punch,
Shane once had me read off a whole bunch of nicknames for him, and one of them was "One-Punch Shane."

in the grand scheme of things Roman is to the Rock what Jey Uso was to him.
In that giant Bloodline family tree, The Rock is listed as the "High Chief."

I get why Stefanski won but it's bullshit because a) Cleveland was supposed to be a good team anyway
Losing Deshaun, Chubb, and a bunch of O-linemen would have relegated most Browns teams to a 6-11 season.

Time to muddy the streaming waters. Again. ESPN, Fox, and WBD announced a joint streaming venture today for all of their sports broadcasts across all of their channels. No word yet on if that will include AEW.

Just use one on Raw and one on SD. Some people might think it's the same person
I used to announce their matches against each other, but Punk didn't have as many tats back then. Graves (Sterling James Keenan) even got a victory!

It reminds me of how Quack named their ECW arena shows after losing money.

When I had a wrestling column in the local paper, I would get free tickets to WWF PPVs (SummerSlams 95 and 96 and King of the Ring 98), sit in the crowd and then write the column when I got home.
I never got to interview the wrestlers or attend a press conference.

My favorite gimmick match to announce is an Iron Man match because it has a scoreboard and clock like other sports, leading to lots of great psychology and strategy.
I announced Punk vs. Daniels for IWC, but the audio got messed up. I was happy when I was asked to announce the whole thing again!
Best one I ever called was Danielson vs. Doug Williams in the main event of Scramble Madness.

One of the few times where the answer to an "either/or" question actually is YES.
That's a spoiler! Okay, here you go:
When I was in the crowd, I was asking myself, "Is this a good match?" Nearly every move was a crazy dive involving a ladder or table, and only half of the moves landed properly. It was like eating a six-course meal, with every course being cake, and only three of the cakes were good.

Sandman episode, fuck yeah, there better be a re-enactment of what Sandman thought he was seeing while wrestling Sabu while high on hallucinogenics at November to Remember 97 in what of the greatest train wreck matches ever.
In my upcoming ECW history book, I talk about sitting in the crowd watching this match, wondering if it was good or bad.

I think that's the first double count out for a LMS match they then did to death
Mankind-Rock LMS also ended that way at In Your House 27: St. Valentine's Day Massacre in 1999.

Was Snake Eyes just a highly promoted house show, or is it/will it be available to watch somewhere?
I think that was a TV taping. Yes, I'm trying to be nice and pay attention to TNA again. Can't hold a grudge forever.

I miss Mike Awesome. Did he have any good to great matches in WCW? I don’t remember any matches just his weird pasted on gimmicks about fat chicks and 70s shit. Or Canadian. Was he Canadian?
From King of Atlanta, Page 210 (WCW Sin PPV)
5. Canadian Penalty Box match: The Filthy Animals (Rey Misterio Jr., Billy Kidman & Konnan with Tygress) vs. Team Canada (Lance Storm, Elix Skipper & Mike Awesome with Major Gunns)
I didn't remember Mike Awesome joining Team Canada. Was he really Canadian? (Checks Google) No? Maybe Awesome just needed a new gimmick every three months like a car needs gas.

I like Joe, but the title ain't no gold watch for service to the biz.
One thing Joe always has going for him is that he has long title reigns (ROH and ROH TV). In fact, nobody beat him for the TV title. So he's always a threat to have a long, juggernaut title reign.

I would certainly like to announce this show. It would be a great way to celebrate my 30th anniversary in pro wrestling and make my Mania weekend debut.

Lions v Browns Super Bowl would be wild. The only two no win teams in modern NFL history battling it out. I'd really like to see that.
But I'd also really like to see The Bills finally get there and win one.
Not just that - neither team has even been to the Super Bowl.

I keep a spreadsheet of all of the major promotions with the wrestlers' hometowns, weights, and signature maneuvers. I shared it with the new announcer for New Japan (Walker Stewart). We gotta help each other out!
