  1. I know my parents took me to the first WWF show in my birthplace of Topeka, KS, when I was, I believe, 4 years old. I vaguely remember seeing hype for WrestleMania 4, and that age 7, I skipped trick-or-treating to attend a Saturday Night's Main Event taping on Halloween night. It was the one and only time I got to see Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant, and Ultimate Warrior all wrestle live. Stayed a fan my whole life, and tried to pass it down to my 4 kids, but only 2 have gotten into it so far.

It's crazy to me to think of an 11 year old kid starting to watch wrestling today. To that kid who is 11 and watching today's product, the Attitude Era is farther away to him as the Bruno Sammartino Era was to me when I first started watching in the mid-80s. Those Bruno and other early 70's matches seemed ancient to me when they'd pop up on the occasional Coliseum Videos.

My oldest 2 kids are 11 and 10.  My 10-year-old LOVES WWE.  After WWE 2k15 (I think that was the one with the Attitude Era stuff), he started watching a few of the matches from that time on the Network.  I don't know how many times he told ne how different it seemed, but that they swore so much it made it seem like no big deal.  I guess in a way the occasional profanity in the PG era puts more heat on a feud like blood did back in the day, at least from a kid's perspective.

  3. Just saw this.  If it is possible to be both not shocked and entirely shocked, I am right now.  I fully expected she wouldn't hang around much longer, given CM Punk's acrimonious exit from WWE.  However, I was surprised that she left just on the heels of the Bella feud.

I don't see the audience booing Leonard at Wrestle Mania like at WMXX. Reigns, very likely. The match itself Yes but not Brock, even if he doesn't re-sign before Mania.

    Jeff Jarrett is working Mania?
I think this Leonard has a better chance of working Mania

    98elv4.jpg

I was going to ask if Leonard was going to have Sheldon, Penny, or both out to the ring with him.

  5. I don't recall it being mentioned on WWF TV until around the time of the MSG Stunner, but I first heard it on, of all things, an episode of the tabloid TV show "Hard Copy".  I was a preteen (10-11, not sure which depending on the exact date of the episode), but they mentioned him as the "WWF Owner" while discussing the steroid controversy that eventually led to the trial.  It was a surprise to be sure, obviously I knew that it was, as we say now, a "work", but I truly did not know that he owned the company.

  6. "My Brother Randy will go into the hall of fame

Quite the accomplishment I must acclaim

But remember this HHH and you'll never be the same

Stephanie rode the madness before she played the game"

Boom fucking sauce.  Print da money.

Pretty sure this is the greatest thing I've read on here, among the greatest things I've ever read on the internet.  I agree with whoever said you won the internet, that is awesome!

  7. Had a strange, and honestly comical glitch in the "Hustle, Loyalty, Disrespect" 2K Showcase mode today.  Spoilering for those who haven't played it:

During the entrances in the SummerSlam 2011 match between Punk and Cena, the ring announcer was replaced by Alberto Del Rio, only the microphone was floating in the air where Justin Roberts would be holding it. The announcement was made in Justin's voice, but with ADR still in the ring. After the match, when ADR did the MITB cash in, he was awarded an invisible belt by the referee. He then celebrated around the ring and ringside, clutching his invisible belt

Anyone have that glitch yet?  I've also played through the mode in which this glitch didn't happen, so not sure if just an odd occurence or not.

WWE.com has a list of "100 Matches You Need To See Before You Die." The DVDVR had one years ago that was great. But this one's pretty awesome, too.

It'll take me a while to go through the whole list, but I mostly agree with the top ten.

I found the Bret-Shawn Ironman disappointing at the time, but that's just me (speaking as someone who was a big fan of both).

I was only going to look at the list on here and not on wwe.com, but I had to see how they listed the competitors on #75, given the presence of you know who.  Not shocked to see that they didn't, not that he deserves it, but creative way to avoid identifying him.

  9. I've been a lifelong Royals fan, I was 3 the last time they made the Playoffs, so this is essentially a new experience for me.  I'm only slightly disappointed that they lost, as I truly never thought I would live to see them get this far.  I was stunned to see them even make the Playoffs, to come up one run away from winning the World Series is mind-blowing.  Proud of my team, and not ashamed to admit that the Giants earned every damn bit of that Championship.

  10. I have it (360 version).  Have played it for a bit.  It's really not that bad.  A lot of the stuff in the Next-Gen versions isn't there, but what is there is good.  Haven't played 2K Showcase mode yet, or much other than a few exhibition matches.  It's fun for what it is, but honestly it does kind of come off as WWE2K14.5.  Also, they did a damn good job on the Wyatt's entrance, even on last-gen, complete with the "We're here" clip.

EDIT:  I kind of figured the Shield wouldn't have updated attires, but am VERY disappointed to see Ambrose still with the Shield theme and crowd entrance.  Time for some entrance editing.

  11. Hey Jayhawk_in_cny,

Aren't you upset that the 360 versions won't have the GM My Career modes, etc?! I am, and I'm in the same boat as y9ou...so until I can sell a kidney I'll be waiting to buy a PS4.

It's a little disappointing, but all in all, I'm just glad they released one for the 360 this year.  The fact that it's not completely stripped and even has an exclusive mode is pretty cool.  I would like to give MyCareer a try, but that may have to wait a while.  For then, I'll take this one, as it's looking pretty good in and of itself.

  12. I am an XBox 360 owner, and for some reason, I am over the moon excited for this game.  Maybe it's the lack of information, not even having a complete roster this close to release because of the current-gen versions being delayed.  This reminds me of before the widespread Internet, when most of what we learned about a game we learned when we started playing the game, and it filtered out from there.  Next Tuesday can't come quick enough!

  13. Liked Goldberg. Hated Gillberg.

Really hurt that he lost the EC match at SummerSlam 2003. Made no sense, especially with HHH hurt. That feud really dragged.

The only time I really hated the way they booked Goldberg was losing that match.  It really felt like another HHH power play.  I'm glad he got the title the following month, but still, he should've won the EC the way they booked him rolling through everyone in the match, only to lose the match.  Yes, I know HHH used the sledgehammer, but they should've just had him steamroll HHH too, and put him over like they did in WCW, at least for that one match.

    Cena wins, just barely.

    Rollins cashes in.

Ambrose has a winter 98-99 payoff feud with Rollins where he takes the title once or twice but Rollins ultimately has it for

Reigns to beat him at Wrestlemania.

    as

Brock wrestles Cena in a gimmick blow off match.

    or

    Brock wrestles Rock.

    and

    Cena wrestles hell-if-i-know.

Bryan's not back until after Mania now, right?

I could even see them panic and run with something like Rollins vs Cena instead of Rollins vs Reigns at Mania.

If they can get Sting signed, and the Undertaker is unwilling/unable to go at Mania, I could see them going with Cena vs. Sting as a battle of icons.  That also assumes, of course, that Hogan can't get cleared to wrestle, as I've read that he also wants to face Cena, and I could see that headlining Mania as well.  I would love a Wrestlemania of Rollins-Ambrose (for the title), Brock-Rock, Cena-Hogan, and Taker-Sting, just for the site of so many big/legendary names on one card.
