  1. I used to be a Punk guy, but there's only so much one can take before you realize Punk may be the problem. I always defended him during his first run in WWE because he was the anti-establishment fighting against the very system that employed him.

Doc was one of those acquisitions where guy has a name so they'll just drop him in cold, give him nothing, he either sinks or swims. Austin was even kinda like that. It's Vince saying "Well the staff likes him, maybe he can move the needle a bit, but I've got my own pet projects first of all." (Like, y'know, the Truth Commission, or Nacho Man vs. the Huckster featuring Billionaire Ted and whatever the name was for poor Okerlund.)

  3. I'd sign the MCMG in a heartbeat. If I were TK, I'd have them show up at Dynasty to confront whomever wins the tag titles, most likely FTR or the Bucks. I enjoyed their match with Jay Lethal against Wardlow & FTR. I think working with the MCMG could do wonders for teams like Private Party or Top Flight.

I'm only offended that I can't seem to segue this thread into a discussion of robot gods in pop culture.

Buckethead is kind of a robot guitar god, and he played with Les Claypool in the supergroup, Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains, so it all ties together.

    Tired of Earth.

That sounds kind of alarming and maybe I'm reading into something that isn't there, but is everything ok? I know we don't know each other, but we're both part of this big, weird DVDVR community, so if you need somebody to vent to, I'm here.

I applaud them for being two dull mechanics who turned "being two dull mechanics" into their gimmick.  Some real 3D chess there.  Like, "we're not two boring, nondescript white guys whose only value is giving you a good 20 minutes!  We're old school wrestlers!"  Gotta respect that hustle.  It's like a con inside a con inside a con.  Con-ception.

It's like when Primus turned "Primus sucks" into a catchphrase, thus sidestepping legitimate criticism.

It's funny to realize guys like John Walters just had to take their "boring technician" gimmick a few more inches into 70s & 80s cosplay territory and they would have been something.

Legitimate criticism of Primus? The most commom criticism of Primus I see is usually that Les Claypool's playing is too out there and his style wouldn't have fit Metallica.

I was always a fan of John Walters. I really like his Fight Without Honor against Xavier at Final Battle '03. Walters got to show off some of his personality after he joined The Embassy.

This just triggered a memory of Bret talking sense to battling brother-in-laws Davey and Owen. And the Two Time Slammy Award Winner bursting into tears. One of the greatest moments in the history of Wrestling. Not that they'll try and emulate their heroes, but it's got me wondering who could be the one to bring these two old friends back together.
