Stardom's PPV was at 11:30 am in Korakuen Hall, so over here on the West Coast, it was like 5:30pm. Not much of note except Koguma's return and

Giulia retained the NJPW Strong belt over Natsuko Tora in a No DQ match. Not only did Giulia piledrive her through a table, she then used one half and broke it over Tora's head again, punching a hole through the table that took some effort to get off Tora. Tora also chopped off a bunch of Giulia's braids.

The rookies really shined for the night as all their opponents gave them a lot.

    NOOOO!!! NOT THE BRAIDS!!!

Using barbed wire, thumbtacks and forks you don't normally see in NJPW. The biggest criticism will be the length of the match. 1 hour and 4 minutes. I liked the match for the most part but it needed trimming down some. Didn't like chairshots to the head even if gimmicked or Henare allowed to continue when hurt.

I advise anybody before watching this match  to drink at least 2 monster energy drinks before doing so! Holy crap it was long but I liked it!

It's worse, because it is both.  It's a scummy outsider culture underneath the umbrella of a corporation ran by the dude Ari from Entorage was based on.

Well people need to stop watching it! I knew when Steph left for a second time he was back! Just stop watching it!

Got numbers to back that up? I dunno how any of us can make they determination without wwe’s internal data.  I have no idea if either one is actually a draw, so I doubt you do either.

I'd take Sasha Banks over Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, especially Charlotte Flair. Banks, Becky and Bayley would be my top three then Bianca Belair and Asuka.

If that’s true she has every right to walk away! The same thing in WCW when Flair wasn’t getting paid the same amount has PIper and Savage!

When did the "take a bump on the edge of the ring" spot start? Feels like once a night whatever wrestling you watch, someone takes a bump on THE HARDEST PART OF THE RING and sometimes they lay and sell it then other times they pop up like nothing

And as frustrating as I'm starting to find this spot, I got to wondering who or when did this get started with?

IIRC i think I had a late 90s vhs comp of the matches of the year and Kobashi gives someone (can't remember who?) maybe. Dragon suplex or a half Nelson suplex onto the edge of the ring and I feel like it has to be someone before that (if I even remember the spot correctly which tbh I saw this match like 15 years back so its possible it was someone else doing the spot)

https://youtu.be/rGi4IcBPBHk I blame these two gentlemen! Around 10 minute mark!

I agree with your points @Stefanie the Human

It's that whole thing where white people get the chance and all we need to do is not fuck it up.  Whereas a black person, in the same situation, has to be more of a special talent to get that shot.  I've got nothing against Brock Anderson, and I highly doubt he's in Tony Kahn's office demanding things and keeping other talent off shows, but he still benefits.

It's especially odd that there haven't been more Black indie wrestlers getting a shot considering there's never been (IMO) a better crop of young, Black, indie talent out there than right now.  Not only are they out there, it's never been easier to get a look at them.  Hell, there have been entire shows dedicated to showcasing young, Black talent (The For the Culture shows).

Yeah why can't AEW hire the chick in my avatar? She has money written all over her! What your scared or something?

@supremebveDon’t forget WWE didn’t even have anything to do with Rock or Austin breaking out.  Vince’s initial ideas for both, Rocky Maivia and The Ringmaster, were garbage.  The best thing Vince did for them was get out of their way once both men found their groove.  Now everything is so controlled, these current guys will never have room to figure it out like Rock and Austin did.    Nobody is allowed to go out there and cut their own promos, let alone radically change their character on their own.  So what hope do they really have of ever having a breakout superstar again?

Maybe to put it more succinctly, the biggest stars WWE ever had developed on their own, usually in spite of creative, not because of it. Now WWE doesn’t allow that.  They’re fucked.

You can add Mick Foley to the list! He wasn't having any of that Mason The Mutilator crap! He might have been the only wrestler that a had game plan before meeting with Vince! Must have charmed Vince like nobody else!
