I wasn't a fan of her as Shelley Long's replacement on Cheers but she'll always have a place in my heart for WoK, probably because she brought so much personality to her Lt. Saavik. Which is another way of saying that she sucked at portraying a Vulcan but it still worked. I also remember liking the first season of Veronica's Closet but didn't follow it beyond that. RIP

Had to go with Danielson - Harwood but special shout-out to The Bunny - Blair Onyx. My first time seeing The Bunny wrestle. I liked what I saw. No, I didn't mean it (only) like that.

I wonder how many wrestling "riots" existed beyond the fervent imaginations of old timers. Clearly the 85 one saw some people crowding the cage but were they really fighting all the way back to the locker room? Also, it's amazing the number of heels "stabbed" on the way to the back without a single death. I have no doubt shit like that happened but it strikes me as likely akin to the 40,000,000 people that attended Woodstock.

I do forget sometimes that I am an old man. Speaking of Tim Woods, he was my first wrestling hero back when he was teaming with Dino Bravo against Gene and Ole Anderson. He was like a real-life Lone Ranger. So it would be great for me personally to get more stories about him other than the plane crash and losing part of his finger against a "fan", especially since there doesn't seem to be much footage out there. When I discovered shoot interviews were a thing I devoured quite a few of them so between those and Legends Round Tables and the Flair book and documentaries, as well as various other books, these stories have appeared multiple times. As Odessa said, these shows aren't really for us even though we are the ones more likely to watch them.

Sure but we're talking amongst ourselves not with casual lapsed fans and there must be hundreds of stories beyond the same old chestnuts that are TV friendly enough and that even us devotees aren't necessarily aware of. I will say that I hadn't heard Morton's Tully story before and it was good to get Baby Doll's perspective, even though the pregnant woman story was also familiar. I think there is a shoot interview with her that I'm going to have to look for.

And he probably couldn't have faked a Russian accent to save his life. This is the new winner for most relevant panel. Enjoyed it despite the fact that everything brought up was extremely well-trod ground. Tim Woods saved MACW, Dusty was a genius, The future Horsemen almost died at the Omni, etc, etc. Would have been nice to have gotten a little more about 70's Crockett aside from the plane crash but that isn't what that panel was designed for.

My younger sister and I watched together though for very different reasons. For 9 or 10 year-old me Lilias was very exotic. Just the kind of woman I'd spend the rest of my life falling in love with. Excuse me now while I go settle down.

There is a long list of zero mentions but the relative lack of attention paid to David and Kerry felt really weird even if there isn't likely much to say that hasn't already been said.
Definitely wins the award for most relevant panel.

After looking where to post this personal little rant I noticed that there apparently hasn't been any Really Swell News since at least November 2nd!
That sucks.
Anyway, after being fired from my job back in May and for a variety of reasons not being able to job hunt until August, I finally started a new job just over a week ago.......aaaaand promptly caught my first case of COVID. I've been vaccinated and twice boostered so it is playing out like a really bad cold but the timing of course couldn't be worse.
But what doesn't kill me only keeps me around longer.

The theme track from Modern Problems aka Gonna Get It Next Time by The Tubes is a lost classic of 80's rock.
If I absolutely had to watch a Chevy Chase movie at this very minute, it would either be Fletch, Foul Play, or National Lampoon's Vacation. Everything else is practically garbage. I've never been of the opinion that Chase was particularly funny or even a decent actor.
I haven't seen Modern Problems since it was big. And when it was big, I musta seen it a million trillion fucking times. Yeah, it probably doesn't pass muster for this era but it's peak Dabney Coleman.
Second the love for Gonna Get It Next Time.
I'll admit to having love for Under The Rainbow but that is largely down to Carrie Fisher and Billy Barty. Barty also appeared in Foul Play. And yes, Under The Rainbow is another one that wouldn't get past a pitch meeting today.
It occurs to me that most of the Chase stuff I like has more to do with his co-stars and generally well written stories than anything having to do with Chase himself.
However, Fletch is undeniable.

Just speaking for myself, "bad luck protection" would take some of the fun out of the whole deal. I didn't enjoy my film this year but certainly several other people who participated would have. I definitely don't mind being exposed to something new and deciding for myself if it works for me.
