Now have you ever heard about this thing called the Mangrate...?

I have no idea what that has to do with anything, but I just googled it, and now I'm gonna order one, so thanks for that...

Your anti-YB gimmick is the worst gimmick since Vince Champ's.

Idk who that is. And it isn't a gimmick. I genuinely think it's funny that they caught a beatdown from the world's worst MMA fighter with a man advantage, and that every company they're a part of is made worse by their mere presence. If that bugs you, I'm sorry. That doesn't make them less lame.

  3. Agreed with that last part. Like, I think it's hysterical that the Jacksons and Kenny caught an ass-beating with a man advantage, but there is no other industry on earth where anyone would expect those people to work together without serious accommodations...

I used to be a Punk guy, but there's only so much one can take before you realize Punk may be the problem. I always defended him during his first run in WWE because he was the anti-establishment fighting against the very system that employed him.

I maintain no illusion that AEW, and the EVP's in particular, are blameless. I do wish TK would be more assertive at times with talent. I just can't imagine living life with the lack of self awareness Punk seems to have. That dude legitimately believes he's never done wrong in his life.

  5. I still think about that story Cody told about Punk proclaiming himself “locker room leader” and guys like Booker T and Randy Orton laughing in his face. There was the “what would harley race do” talking point when he did Colt’s podcast. Then there’s all the getting pissy about guys not taking his unsolicited advice. It’s no coincidence that he’s spending so much time at the PC now. That dude needs to believe he’s a cornerstone of the business. It’s not at all surprising that he can’t fathom that he might bear some responsibility for what happened at All In. I’m gonna take what he said about the events of that day with a grain of salt.

Am I being willfully obtuse? Probably. It’s no secret I don’t like pretentious people. I think it says a lot about how Phragile Philliam is that the “diy punk rock” guy got so ass-hurt over AEW talent not wanting advice they didn’t ask for. This is a guy who says “if you have a problem, come find me,” then sucker punches someone who did exactly that. It’s all deep seeded insecurity hidden behind a thick veil of aloof arrogance.

In this same Helwani interview he says it was all Nick Khan who made the decision to bring him in. If that’s true, it’s telling that no one in wwe who’d ever worked with him before reached out about working there. Fuck that dude. Fuck his self righteous bullshit, too…

  6. So, I finally got to watch Cardona/Cope. I remember saying for years on this site that Zack Ryder had been in wwe for upwards of a decade and I still had no idea if he was a good worker or not. Idk if Cardona is a guy who’s just figured out what he is, but I didn’t think him capable of working a structured tv match like that. I’m very impressed. I hope this leads to him making more AEW appearances, as several folks (hawkins, jtg) have said in interviews that triple h just isn’t a fan and Cardona in this incarnation should be on tv regularly.

As for Starks… I’m kind of over him. I still like him and want what’s best for his career, but at some point he has to, too. The same people that left him disgusted with his last pc tryout are running the whole company now, so if he really thinks it’s gonna go better bc his buddy Cody is there, maybe he needs to find out.

House of Black rules ass. Put the tnt title on the Dark Father and belts on the other two.

Cole's stable is the worst stable quite possibly in AEW's short history.  They do nothing and have accomplished nothing and there's no direction for them at all. It doesn't help that the only guy who was interesting was Roddy and they pretty much took away what was working for him.  Roddy yelling at people was actually funny.

Also, nobody gives a shit that O'Reilly is back...  I like him but it's a hard sell.  Another guy who needs to be in a captivating story line because by himself he's incredibly boring.

Holy shit, I agree with you. The problem with Kyle o Reilly is that he’s never been interesting a day in his life. He’s a talented worker, but he’s not in the upper echelon of AEW. There’s nothing you can get from KOR or any of his UE buddies that you can’t get from a dozen or more other guys on the roster. The insistence that adam Cole is a guy that this company needs to orbit around remains baffling to me, and Matt Taven and Mike Bennett getting tv time weekly when Ricky Starks and Big Bill don’t is mystifying…

Yeah, all this.  I’m sincerely holding out hope that she’s incredible in the ring, because everything she’s done so far just feels inauthentic and dull.  When the person working a supernatural spooky witch gimmick feels more like a fully realized human being than you do, something is terribly wrong.

Careful. Calling anything Mercedes does “inauthentic” earns you a visit from @Niners Fan in CT

In all seriousness, it’s been Ass Juice so far. Not a single second of genuine emotion or delivery. I understand wanting to wait until ppv to have her wrestle, but something’s gotta give.

I slept through most of the show. I caught the Moné stuff on dvr. I’ll watch the rest of the show tonight.

Weirdly enough the Young Bucks have an uncanny ability to make Private Party seem important. I struggle to say this without grinding my teeth, but any haters and habitual fast-forwarders should keep an eye on what they're doing under their new gimmick.

I don’t hate it. They’re pretentious, self aggrandizing assholes, but by also portraying that on tv they’re actually compelling for once…

Who are the people she injured and who did she injure on purpose?

She bragged openly about breaking Alexa Bliss' nose multiple times on purpose. There was also the time she ENDED PAIGE'S CAREER. Again, you won't care, because Mercedes will have been justified due to her follower count. Am I doing that right? I took my time answering this because there are multiple reddit AMA's and Twitter Q&A's with released nXt talent where Sasha is named as a bully during her time at the PC. I know that no amount of links I post will change your mind that she's sainted and allowed to do whatever she wants because she had 4 minutes of screen time on a Disney+ show, so I won't bother. You can google it yourself.

It's pretty well known that Saraya was working injured before that match and she was going to be put on the shelf sooner or later.  Is now a good time to talk about all the people Charlotte Flair injured such as dropping Sasha on her fucking neck during their SummerSlam match?  Lol.....  your hate on is weird.

I don't give a shit about Charlotte. I just think it's funny that literally nothing Mercedes does is an issue with you. She's injured multiple people, some on purpose, but it's ok because it's her, right?

Funny. I've never thought of them as pretentious but man... they really are, when you look at it. Pretention can be obfuscated when the target is... aesthetically susceptible, I suppose. (Read: "Hey you know this is just MX cosplay." "Yeah... but it's really GOOD MX cosplay!")

Right. I enjoy their matches a lot of the time, but nothing makes me roll my eyes harder than "look how great a match we're having!!!"
