  1. Here's how things stand in terms of what percentage of U.S. TV households can watch what:

    USA Network (RAW) - 86.38%

Spike TV (TNA until now) - 85.50%

    Syfy (SmackDown) - 85.33%

    E! (Total Divas) - 84.48%

    Fox Sports 1 (UFC) - 75.13%

    UniMas (Lucha Underground) - 57.8%

    Destination America (TNA in 2015) - 52.20%

    ROH - 38.1%

El Rey (Lucha Underground) - 35%?

All the numbers except the final two are for August 2013. The ROH number is from October 2014, but includes future expansion that has not yet come into effect. The El Rey number was their target number that they announced earlier this year, but I don't know if they've reached it.

So yeah, quite the drop-off indeed. Though it should be pointed out that Destination America is technically available to more than 52%, but since it's a high-tier channel you'd have to pay extra to watch it.

  2. According to PWInsider:

While appearing at the Signamania wrestling convention over the weekend, Alberto Del Rio told numerous fans that he would be working for both Lucha Underground and TNA in 2015.

Both promotions must really want him in a bad way if they're allowing him to work for the other one. So, where does he fit in TNA? Babyface or heel? Ricardo or no Ricardo?

  3. Well, it's only a 44-minute show so it's going to be hard to fit six full matches in there as well as the judges' evaluations. That said, I do hope they cram as much action as possible into it because the line-up for the next episode does indeed look very good. Hell, I'd pay good money to see that same line-up if it were an indy event.

    Grado vs. Sha Samuels

    Dave Mastiff vs. Rampage Brown

Nikki Storm vs. Kay Lee Ray vs. The Owens Twins

    Kris Travis vs. Mark Andrews

Joel Redman & Martin Stone vs. RJ Singh & Richard Parliament

    Noam Dar vs. El Ligero

Anyway, last night's episode might've been my favorite one so far. A really good mix of talent, I thought. The biggest revelation for me this week being Richard Parliament, who I hadn't even heard of before this show but got a big kick out of his act. Very amusing... yeeeaah! Speaking of amusing, The Fabulous Bakewell Boys had some great lines. Mastiff and Stone were the overall standouts for me however. Both came across really well. Based on what's been broadcast on the show those two along with Rampage Brown and Nikki Storm are my favorites so far.

  4. Man, how fantastic did Rampage Brown look in those clips they showed from Progress Wrestling? Those were great. Shame his promo was so crap. Andrews surprised me as well. Always figured him to be quite bland outside of the ring. Nice to know he's got some personality to him.

Sidenote, did anyone else notice what appeared to be Chris Masters, of all people, randomly walking into the building while Spud was talking to the final two guys who were eliminated? Way to make your TNA TV debut, Chris!

  5. The first episode has popped up online. You can see it here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x289ran_tna-british-boot-camp-2-episode-1_sport

There's also an official post-show that features some unaired footage of Sebastian Radclaw being one the wackiest wrestling characters on the planet:

    ----------------------------------------

I thought Nikki Storm was by far the best promo out of all of them. No surprise there, really. Really glad to see her go through.

Noam Dar and Kay Lee Ray are both great in-ring talent so it was good to see them go through as well, even though I thought they could've shown more personality.

As expected, Grado was very likeable as well. I'm looking forward to his comeback storyline playing out. I don't know that he can win the whole thing, but I can definitely see Grado being one of the 3 runners-up who get awarded spots on the UK tour.

I liked Viper too. Was a bit disappointed she didn't go through as I would've liked to see her in action, but can definitely see why she didn't make it.

Overall, I thought it was a fun first episode. Could've been better, but it was fun. Really enjoyed seeing the UK talent being given some spotlight.

  6. What an emotional main event. Damn good wrestling, crowd going crazy throughout the match, humongous pop for the finish, women in the crowd crying afterwards and fans throwing tons of money in the ring. You just don't see that kind of emotion for wrestling matches these days. Loved it!

Overall, much like last year's anniversary show, which I also saw live on Terra, I thought this was a really fun show. Cavernario/Cometa was probably the best match on the show (if you like that sort of match, which I do), but Atlantis/Guerrero was the most memorable one. The other matches ranged from solid to good, I thought.

Also, as a sidenote, the stream was perfect! Didn't freeze on me or disconnect even for a second (unlike last year when there were a few short hiccups). Kudos to Terra for that!

  7. Yesterday in Fayetteville TNA taped several matches for Boot Camp:

    Dave Mastiff vs. Samoa Joe

    Rampage Brown vs. Bram

    Mark Andrews vs. DJ Z

    Noam Dar vs. Austin Aries

    Grado vs. Ethan Carter III

Kay Lee Ray vs. Gail Kim

So, there's your final six. One of them is winning the TNA contract.

They also taped an 8-person tag with the contestants (plus Angelina Love & Al Snow) the day before in Roanoke Rapids.

  8. The following names are being advertised for Inoki's North Korea shows next week:

    Bob Sapp

    Jerome Le Banner

    Jon Andersen (Strongman)

    Montanha Silva

    Erik Hammer

    Heddi Karaoui

    Kazuyuki Fujita

    Ultimo Dragon

    Daichi Hashimoto

    Shinichi Suzukawa

    Atsushi Sawada

    Crusher Kawaguchi

    Shogun Okamoto

    Taka Kunou

    Hajime Ohara

    Keisuke Okuda

    Wang Bin

    Meiko Satomura

    Kyoko Kimura

    Ray

    Dash Chisako

  9. TNA taped the British Boot Camp 2 mid-season finale earlier today in London with the wrestlers who've made it through the auditions round. There were supposed to be only 12 people competing on today's show for a chance to move onto the final round but it ended up being 16 people. The following matches were taped today:

    Rampage Brown vs. Dave Mastiff

    Noam Dar vs. El Ligero

    Sha Samuels vs. Grado

    Kris Travis vs. Mark Andrews

Martin Stone & Joel Redman vs. RJ Singh & Richard Parliament

Kay Lee Ray vs. Nikki Storm vs. Leah Owens vs. Kasey Owens

So these are the people who're going for the contract. Several of them will be going to the States soon where the winner of the show will be determined.
