  1. I don't think his actions are a huge deal because he's young but I don't think he's much of a leader at this point. There were multiple times in the game where the camera was focused on him from the time a play ended through the huddle all the way to the snap and the guy doesn't even talk to his teammates. He'd call a play, have a blank expression on his face and go through the motions. He wasn't fired up or getting his teammates up, he was pretty much sulking in the middle of the game. He doesn't strike me as a when the chips are down you want this guy type of quarterback. That's not to say he won't develop those traits but that sort of thing I'd expect an elite level qb who has played at the highest level at high school and college to have figured out already.

  2. I'm somewhat entertained by the fact that Chris Martin likes to hop around on stage like he was singing for Minor Threat.

It's like he's completely unaware of the music being played and the sounds coming out of his mouth.

  3. My partner was asking me who I was rooting for in the big game, and I said I'm torn, because I want to see Cam win because it will bother dumb racists, but I also have been annoyed by Vincey Greene's football ego all year. I was told that racists feeling bad is a better reason for rooting interest than being internet mad, so GO PANTHERS.

I thought I was the only one. I don't think I can deal with a full offseason of Vinceys posts if the panthers win.

  4. I've always hated the "If Barry had Emmitt's line," talk.  Barry Sanders' offensive line wasn't terrible, and his running style undermined his offensive line's blocking assignments.  Emmitt Smith did play behind one of the best offensive lines ever, but he was also really fucking good.  Barry's offensive line was merely good, but his running style made them look worse than what they were.  He spent a lot of time running away from they were blocking.  I do want to know what he would have been like in Kubiak's zone blocking scheme.  He could have been incredible in a scheme where the blocking scheme was more of an abstract concept than a concrete concept.

Hit the nail on the head.  People act like Barry had the worst offensive line ever and anyone who played in Dallas could have been Emmitt Smith.

  5.

    You kind of did

If that's the perception, then that's what I must have done, albeit unintentionally. I didn't mean to imply I'm happy he's gone or good riddance or anything like that. I've loved watching him play. And I'm certainly not irritated with him like I was with Barry "I'll retire late to screw you guys and all my teammates" Sanders.

This is not just to you but to other Lions fans on the board- When Barry retired and to this point a lot of people view Barry as one of and some will argue the greatest RB of all time.  Obviously that's based on perceived ability and not total compiled stats but I'm wondering how Calvin Johnson will be viewed in the bigger picture.

  6. Random Orioles/Mariners game when I was like 12yrs old.  Was my first MLB game.  Got to see it with my step dad and uncle.  Got to see Griffey take batting practice from over the right field wall and just watching that dude take the smoothest swings and stroke the ball effortlessly over the fence was pretty awesome.

Last year Cowboys/Packers playoff game.  It was so quiet in the stadium while they were reviewing the Dez Bryant catch.  Crazy atmosphere and so many Cowboys fans in the stadium.  I've been to quite a few Cowboys/Packers games in Green Bay and Packers fans really are awesome.  Even though the Cowboys lost, they played really well and the attitude of the home fans made it a lot easier to swallow.

Strikeforce: Fedor vs Rogers in Chicago.  The card was pretty stacked but it was memorable just because I got to see Fedor fight live.  Got to meet Dan Henderson and talk for a few also.

2005 US Open at Pinehurst.  Michael Campbell won it and played amazing but I'm not a big Campbell fan, it was just awesome getting to see a lot of great golf and getting to follow Tiger Woods in his prime.  The golf course was set up perfectly and looked amazing.  The crowds were electric obviously for Woods but for Jason Gore also.

1996 Michelob Championship at Kingsmill.  Not a big tournament by any means but me and a buddy managed to get our hands on some clubhouse passes and got to literally hang out in the clubhouse area with the golfers.  Got to meet a lot of golfers including Fred Couples and Payne Stewart.

  7. I don't expect the Lions to go full rebuild, not after retaining Caldwell.

Stafford to Tate is still a lethal combination.

(And if the idea is that Lions fans are "fairweather" I'm... Uh, lost, really. When the fuck has the weather ever been good?)

Well, it might be more Tabe's comment.  Lots of teams would love to "not be able to count on" a guy that's put up the numbers that he's put up.  Just say he was awesome and you were lucky to have him.  Not "well we don't need him anymore anyway."

  8.

Go back and watch Trish vs. Steph at No Way Out 2001. It's a violent little brawl and there's more of them with Trish vs. Lita around the same time. That was rookie Trish. She would only improve from there. This idea that she couldn't go is incorrect.

I'm convinced that any of the women from that era would pretty well mop the floor with any of the divas except for maybe Paige, Becky, and Sasha. I've not been impressed by anything that Charlotte has done except make the main roster.

This is a pretty crazy opinion.

  9.

Yeah, none of this is an actual thing.  Not even remotely.  ( blah blah blah)

Because you say so?  Okay, then.  So Rock was just reminiscing about romance, women are never portrayed poorly in wrestling and nobody is ever booked in a bad way as punishment.  Glad we got that sorted.  To stay consistent, please never comment on any wrestling news stories from Meltzer, etc because they're not credible in your mind.

He didn't give those words any credibility.  It's completely an opinion based on speculation not fact or evidence.  Keep reaching.

  10.

Less talk about Dolph Ziggler's place and more talk about how WWE was apparently angry about a woman's backstage behavior so their solution was to have a huge star call her a whore on television.

This is stupid.  As is the opinion that one person having sex with another person in the past makes that person a whore.  It was a planned segment that obviously Lana and Rusev bought off on.

Are you just being contrarian to win some Internet Points?  This wasn't Rock reminiscing about some lovely time they had together.  Pro tip: whenever a pro wrestling storyline involves a woman fucking a dude, she's made out to be a slut, and this was no different.

Your second point is utterly ridiculous, also.  "Do this segment or get further in the doghouse" isn't really a choice.

Edit: I just read about how this segment was punishment for Lana yelling at Rusev in an airport.  Wow, this fucking company.  Hopefully they'll straighten this out by have Steve Austin offer a Performance Center seminar on keeping your woman in line.

Yeah, none of this is an actual thing.  Not even remotely.  The fact that you posted how you "just read about how the segment was punishment for Lana yelling at Rusev in an airport" and you automatically believe that shit tells me all I need to know about you.  Where are we going next? Flat earth? We never went to the moon? You shouldn't just automatically believe a random person's bullshit speculation about something.

  11. Less talk about Dolph Ziggler's place and more talk about how WWE was apparently angry about a woman's backstage behavior so their solution was to have a huge star call her a whore on television.

  12. Kalisto's title reign is already bullshit. Him wrestling Neville and winning clean is just ridiculous. You could sell that if it were a bigger guy and sell the whole speed over power aspect but he's not quicker than Neville, he's not stronger than Neville, and he's not as good of a wrestler. If they were going to have him wrestle Neville and not lose, the match should have ended with interference from whatever heel he's about to feud with.

This would actually be a great time to give Big E a singles push and put him directly in a title match. New Day already has had matches with the dragons and they could develop something organic.
