  1. Loved Big Show vs Rowan. Really fun big man match with probably Rowan's best showing yet, which granted isn't saying lots but he looked good here. Opener was really good fun too, and I fully support the tease of more Sheamus/Cesaro matches.

  2. Is Stephanie the first person to be arrested for a crime committed on a pro wrestling program? Attempted vehicular homicide, attempted homicide and kidnapping are not serious enough to get law enforcement involved, but slapping a fan is. Tim McGraw should be happy that he isn't in WWE.

Flair got arrested for punching a fan (Paul London, I believe) on TV in 2001 or 2002. You can't fuck with the fans.

  3.

F4WOnline.com reports that there are people backstage at WWE who believe the Payback event on Sunday will be a good show because there is no way WWE can let the developmental talent on the NXT Takeover special outshine the main roster on PPV.

Or they could start to dumb down the NXT product to ensure it no longer is in a position to overshadow the main roster.

NXT is Triple H's baby, that ain't likely to happen.

  4. I thought Bret was really good as Nattie's corner man,. He's way more of an understated character than Flair, but his little smirks and fist pumping to the crowd, as well as the apron smacking during the "this is awesome" chant, were nice touches.

  5.

Americans know what fucking pantomime is. We also hate mimes, just like any right thinking person does .

"Oh Sam, everyone loves a mime."

"No, everyone loves a clown, everyone hates a mime."

I feel like you don't know what a Pantomime is, because it has nothing to do with a mime
I just felt like dropping a "Cheers" line.

And I fucking know what "pantomime " means.

    "Oh no you don't..." ;)

  6. Oh yeah, wasn't that black girl in Adam Rose's entourage Cody Rhodes' wife? Never got a real good look at her once she shifted to the back.

It was Ayesha Ray, she's a British wrestler that's also worked over in Europe and Japan.

  7. Barrett ended the show (after Raw closed) by talking to the crowd. He got interrupted by Stephanie, who told him to leave as the show was over. Barrett told her to kiss his arse, which lead to Triple H coming out. Adam Rose interrupted, and Barrett gave HHH the Bullhammer to end the night.

Alicia Fox stealing Jerry Lawler's crown and pouring an entire Coke over herself was still my highlight though.

  8. Clash 3 is a bloody great show. Like seriously, I've never heard anyone even mention it before but it starts with a cracking draw between Mike Rotunda and Brad Armstrong and just keeps going strongly throughout the whole event. The Sheepherders vs Doc and Nikita is a lot of fun too, one of the better Nikita performances I can remember.

Did anything come of the (what looked like, at least) Ivan babyface turn? I don't remember ever seeing him in a match where he wasn't the villain.

  9. Fantastic episode of NXT this week, probably the best since the first special. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was Natalya vs Layla, and even then it was short. They crammed so many promos and segments in to build up matches, had a couple of fun squashes (including Mojo's best yet) and also put on three genuinely good matches in Kidd/Dallas, Bayley/Banks and Clay/Neville. They've done a great job with Brodus in a limited amount of time, and he worked hard in his match. He still isn't great by any stretch, but he deserves an A for effort in the least, and I really dug his promo as well. He could be something on Raw or Smackdown, but I'd be happy to have him floating around NXT for the time being.

  10. Not really a gimmicky one in terms of special rules, but I absolutely adore the cage match from Smackdown a few weeks prior to Flair's retirement. It ended up being Flair and Shawn Michaels against Edge, Chavo Guerrero, Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, with the ongoing stipulation that if the Nature Boy lost, he would have to retire. What followed was around ten minutes of wacky, crazy brawling, heavy bleeding and gnarly violence. Definitely a lot different to many of the WWE cage matches that you'll see, just based on the sheer number of people involved - tag team cage matches are all but a novelty but this was unheard of, at least within the confines of a regular cage as opposed to a HIAC or Elimination Chamber match.

  11. Fun episode this week, hilarious that Torito vs Hornswoggle seemed to get more time than Del Rio vs Big E and Alberto got treated as a complete afterthought. Titus had a real strong showing against Sheamus, and the main event was both good and got awarded a decent amount of time. I liked the minis a whole bunch too.

  12. I actually liked Ted's first book a lot, and don't mind the strong Christian overtones. That being said, I don't think I'd be that interested in an independent documentary in to his life - I'd probably only buy a WWE produced one since it would have access to Mid-South and WWE footage for the feature, and full matches as extras.

  13. They ran that tag team match at the one Axxess session that I went to and it was pretty damn good there too, quite a bit longer too. In particular, Dillinger and Jordan looked fantastic and are blatently going to get the belts at some point. The heels looked fine, but were working an "arguing partners" gimmick. They were no doubt trying out a bunch of different characters and gimmicks that weekend though to show their range. Big Cass worked heel and face in different matches but during the same Axxess session.
