  1. Maybe it's the older man in me but it was the little touches that the remake didnt have. I saw it as a kid as well and really didnt get it. I just saw a kid overcome through Karate and it made me want to learn it. But seeing it with my older eyes I do appreciate it more from Miyagi's perspective

  2. So I turn on the TV and the original Karate Kid is on and it's at the scene where Miyagi gets drunk and breaks down over the revelation of how his wife and son died, and how he treats Daniel like the son he lost. Then just before the tournament,  he pretends he doesn't speak English and then goes welcome at the end. It's such a great performance, in just had to come and mention it.

  3. I don't know if anyone follows Scott Hudson on Facebook but he's been posting funny memories of Gene including this one:

GENE STORY: REVIEW OF GARY CAPPETTA'S BOOK NOTE: I have a lot, A LOT, of respect for Gary Cappetta. Sorry Gary. The announcing crew had our own dressing room at Nitros and PPVs. Tony, Mike, Mark, Penzer, DJ Ran, Buffer, Gene - we shared one space and spent almost the entire time cracking each other up. One night, we were all there prepping for the show and talking about former WCW ring announcer Gary Cappetta's book, "Memoirs of a Pitchman." Gene wanders in, fashionably late. I believe it was David Penzer that announced to Gene, "Hey Gene! Cappetta wrote a book. It's called "Memoirs of a Pitchman." Gene, with his suit bag still slung over his shoulder, lowered his sunglasses and mused, "Pitchman?! Cappetta couldn't sell a sick whore a bean sandwich!" We all collapsed (even though none of us had any idea what the hell he was talking about). Miss you, Gene.

TNA seems to have given up on "controlling" their workers. Hell, TNA seems more inclined to go out of their way to work with well-established indies. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to share a Commodore Ballroom show with ECCW at some point and get the whole thing on Twitch.

This may be it, because he just worked Luke Hawx at the Wildkat show in Louisiana on Christmas Day.

This is your annual-ish reminder of how much it sucks that Valiant sold their rights off piecemeal to a half dozen companies that will never ever actually release a show or movie.

Reminds me of the time back in the 90's we would get a lot of these announcements about Rob Liefeld selling the rights to many of his properties and none of them ever got made, even that Youngblood cartoon

  6. Halloween yesterday had me thinking of movies I watched once and had no need to see again, Irreversable is one of those. A few years back here someone mentioned an indie movie called The Bunny Game. Anyone ever watch that one? From the trailer it looks like another one of those types but I still have a morbid curiosity about it.
