Found in the November 1995 issue of The Wrestler, an eighteen-year-old Stephanie McMahon with Gorilla Monsoon:

And since the Hall & Oates comparisons started to fly over on Twitter about Spivey and Hall, there's this dumb thing:

Had a good time at Booker T's Reality of Wrestling show on Saturday and going through his Twitter gave me this glorious photo:

Now that is pro wrestling. He now goes by Mark Von Erich and gets booked as an Adkisson relative.
You're right! Weirdly enough, Mark Von Erich used to hang around my Mom's produce company when I was younger. The two things didn't really click until she mentioned him today.
He wrestled around the Angleton, TX area as Mark and claimed he was a cousin. Apparently, he got into a car accident recently and local people raised a bunch of money to help this Von Erich out.

It's marked GLADIATOR... so, maybe that?

Mitch K (@Mitchkrebsbach) sent me this over on Twitter. Instead of getting rid of his old wrestling shirts, he turned them into a “sweeeeeeet” blanket.
Pretty amazing.

Jesus, he must have spent $450 to take that picture with them. Nash alone is like 2 bills.
I think this was the Alamo Con in San Antonio -- they were selling an entire nWo package for a decent price. Sad thing is that Bret Hart was there too, but he was in a whole different pay bracket.
I want photos of all the guys together at once but this is the best that I'll get.

But they had to do something with Bret Hart on that PPV! I mean, you know, besides having him wrestle a match, because that would just be ridiculous.
He had a no-compete clause with the WWF, which is why he was the referree in the Zbyszko vs Bischoff match earlier in the night. That allowed him the power for that night to be an active referee and immediately materialize after the "fast-count" to restart the match.
Since we're still talking nWo and Starrcage, where would have things gone if Hogan said no to being the third man and Bischoff went with Sting like he originally had planned? Would the red and yellow have blown through the Sting-led nWo like he did with the Dungeon of Doom??
-
Really weird. I figured one of the reasons for this new role for him was to phase him out of actively wrestling.
I assume it was either MSG or the split show in Toronto.
Taken 12/28 in Newark, NJ.

Sooooooooo.....gonna scan that Flair centerfold or what?
Well, since you asked so nicely and all:
Quick scan, didn't feel like redoing it to make it seamless, so this is all you get for now.

Where does the term "finisher" come from? To me, it's a very video game-y word that makes me think more of something like Mortal Kombat.
Looking around some 90's magazines and there's a lot of signature/specialty maneuvers, no finishers.

In honor of the anniversary of Sting vs Hogan at WCW Starrcade '97, here's some tings.

Ric Flair: WCW World Heavyweight Champion - WCW Starrcade [December 27th, 1993] *Click to Enlarge*
Harley Race was Vader’s manager. With all our history, it was kind of special to have Harley there. And for the first time, my parents watched me wrestle, alongside Megan, David, Ashley, Reid, and Beth. All around them, the people were clapping their hands together and chanting, ‘Flair! Flair! Flair!’
I know that the other guys were kidding Leon backstage for having to lose the title to me, so when we got in the ring, we practically fought for real during parts of the match. When Leon suplexed me from the top rope, he protected me. When he jumped on me from the turnbuckles, he was ten times easier on my body than a lot of other guys. But when he punched me, it was legit. My ear was cauliflowered. My nose was swollen. He came at me with two fists at once, busting open my mouth.
We went to the floor, and Leon said, ‘I’m going to beat the fuck out of you, if you don’t fight back.’ I told him, ‘You want it, buddy? You got it.’ And I just started tagging him. I’d been in fights like that before but I never expected to have one at nearly forty-five years of age.
I was biting Vader, and the fans loved it. As I covered him for a near-fall, Harley climbed the ropes, then came careening down with one of his flying headbutts. I rolled out of the way, and Vader took the hit. We got up, and I began chopping Vader. He knocked me down, then turned toward the crowd. That’s when I grabbed his ankle, tripped him, and rolled on top for the pin.
It was one of my finest moments in the ring. The people were so happy. Even when I went backstage, the fans were still screaming, “Woooo!”
I never really had the feeling that my parents liked wrestling. They told me all the time that they were proud of me, but I know they had no passion for the business. I was glad that they could be there with my kids that night, and see how much I meant to people.

Fine, I'll see you halfway.
Today is the 19th anniversary of Hogan's first Starrcade where he beat The Butcher to retain the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.
-
Tomorrow is the 30th anniversary of a bigger WWF moment
Don't you mean the more-important 15th anniversary of Goldberg's streak coming to an end at Starrcade?

It's time, it's time, it's.... GRADO time?

Cactus Claus is coming to town! -
Thank you for posting this. I know it can be a hassle scanning things and want you to know it is appreciated.
You're welcome. I do get good feedback, so I know I have an audience that digs it. As long as that exists, I'll keep on scanning stuff like this in.
