  1. Act recorded a message from her hospital bed.  I have no idea what all she's saying (maybe somebody can), but I did see where she said she expects to be back soon. EDIT: I lied, it sounds like she is saying she can't see very well and her face is sore but she will absolutely be back in the ring again.  I need to make a loop of her bit when she sounds like she's telling a bedtime story.  Great to doze off to.

  2. Joe Posnanski wrote a big column about the show today. For those that dont know, he does a podcast co-hosted by mike schur.

Parks and Rec was always sweet without being sappy, funny without being crass and made Pawnee the sort of place you wish you lived.

  3. Interesting, not sure why they didn't already have a ring side doctor. I'm curious if they still use Wada as he shares some blame. Yoshiko not getting fired really makes me think angle gone horribly wrong. They are definitely trying to leave the door open. It doesn't matter though if they don't actually fix whatever was the root cause of all of this. Hopefully they try to.

I think Act is the one that prevented Yoshiko being banned for life.  While everybody is blogging, here is Nanae's http://www.diamondblog.jp/official/nanaracka/2015/02/25/2%E6%9C%8825%E6%97%A5%E3%80%82/.    Again, I'm not positive, but it looks like Act said she wants to "wrestle" Yoshiko again one day.  It looks like it says Act suffered fractured cheekbones, orbital and nasal bones.  As well as damage to both retinas, but I don't think it's detached retinas.

  4. Someone speaking for/on behalf of/in support of Act posted a long blog post about the incident (I assume, it was posted on Act's twitter page), Google Translate as always is rough, any Japanese people/readers here able to give a bullet point of what it says?

It looks like he's the director of the Act documentary.  Just a couple of things that stood out.  (My Japanese is horrible, btw)  He says that Act sometimes has trouble communicating with others.  He also noticed no heat between her and Yoshiko during filming. (nevermind Yoshiko says she hates her in the trailer)  I'll see if I can get a real Japanese person on it.

Steve Cox is doing some serious dick-wiggling on Tony Myers' FB over how great this was (I think, if you can translate whatever he meant by "K Fab days talent old school hard way the leasons of the ring...great for the bizz..love it.."). I kinda disagreed with him, but then I'm a dumb mark who's never stepped in the ring or whatever that line of attack is. I just can't see how anyone in an industry based on trust and cooperation could possibly look at this as a good thing.

I have no idea how this is best for the buisness. With this fight they:

    - Ensured at least one of their girls is going to be out for a while.

    - Exposed the rest of the show as fake, since this was clearly a real fight. They also forced the promotion to admit their product is fake.

    - Exposed a heel(Kimura) as not being very heelish, since she was the only one brave enough to stop this

    - Made everyone minus Act and Kimura look absolutely horrible. Yoshiko surely lost some fans, Rossy looked like an inept promoter and Wada looked like a WWF Attitude Era ref for ineptness.

    - Got bad press and upset fans

Not seeing the dollar signs with this one. Okay fine, maybe Act/Yoshiko might pop a house down the line but the costs to do that don't work out.

Yeah, let's expose the business in front of thousands of people by having our champ shoot on our most popular wrestler.  Just by his rambling, incoherent posting style, I know I don't have to bother giving any credence to his opinion.  What a dickhead.

  6. It just got uploaded so I got to watch it, yea I dunno.  It looks like they both came out swinging and Yoshiko just took it too far, and at times Yoshiko was 'working' (ie she did let Act up when Wada told her to at one point) while obviously at other times throwing legit punches.  I stand by my earlier prediction Yoshiko will be wrestling again this year, something else was going on here.  If Stardom is aware they had beef and that things may break down, they aren't going to throw Yoshiko completely under the bus.  I think fan's emotions are up because it happened to Act, and everyone loves Act, but behind the scenes it may be a situation of two people that hated each other and wanted to throw down, and one going too far with it.  Which obviously deserves a suspension but this whole 'banned from wrestling' thing is silly, shoots have happened before, no one gets banned for it.  We may or may not ever get the true story but I sense a lot of apologies in our near future.

For anyone interested, it is on Dailymotion.

This has all the looks of a worked shoot devolving into a real shoot.  I'm not sure what point in the match the highlights were, but it looked like Act wanted to go stiff right off the bat and Yoshiko just thought, "I'll show her".  Yoshiko actually seems upset and then at the end goes back into character.  Kimura and the ref both look like they are in on it, but once Act's face gets jacked up they realize it's too late.  And Act is always gonna try to keep going even if she can't see.  My guess is they tried to recreate Hokuto/Kandori and Yoshiko went too far.

  7. Act just blogged an apology for the main event yesterday.  My poor Japanese leads me to believe that both of her eyes are swollen shut, but she said she'll be ok and back at it when she's healed up.  She almost seems to be excusing Yoshiko, but I'm not sure.  She's definitely repping Stardom and hoping people don't look bad at the company.
