  1. Pitta's injury hurt a lot. At the end of the first half when they had to settle for the FG, Flacco would loooooooooove to throw a jumper to Pitta near the back of the end zone. Or they'd run the play to Clark, which he dropped like a fool.

Might be a bit of a trying year in Baltimore. It's all good though, got the ring.

  2.

They also didn't want to push the game to 1 PM because...well, I don't know why.

IIRC it's because the Orioles had a night road game Wednesday night, and because of that and travel the MLB PA would have to approve the time switch.

Yeah, you're right, they were in Cleveland. But still, it's not as if Cleveland to Baltimore is a cross country flight. Whatever, I'm over it.

  3. Looking at the guide, I see Arrested Development, Parks & Reds, HIMYM, Freaks & Geeks, the Hughleys, Spin City, Sports Night...lots of stuff you don't see elsewhere (of course). DIfferent is good.

So far, FXX is basically showing reruns of comedy shows most of the day, which is fine by me.  I do hope they passed on Big Bang Theory reruns since it's already on at all hours of the day on way too many cable channels.  It's basically Comedy Central without the standups specials and roasts.
  4. Orioles had a game Wednesday and a doubleheader in the middle of a pennant race is dumb. They also didn't want to push the game to 1 PM because...well, I don't know why. The issue is that Camden Yards & M&T Bank Stadium share the same parking lot. If they weren't right next door (like they also are in Philly or Pittsburgh), then this probably wouldn't have happened.

  5. There actually *is* a paid Youtube subscription where you essentially pay to subscribe to certain channels and get a shit ton more content, I'm assuming with no ads. One of those channels is TNA Wrestling Plus, which has nearly every TNA PPV going back to 2004 in full, along with some of their comp DVDs. It's really a brilliant move for companies like TNA (or the UFC, which also has a channel) to bring in some extra income from shit they're just sitting on. Is WWE Classics a rotating selection, or just a vault like Netflix? if it's the former, this could be something you see in the future from them to drag in more revenue.

  6. It's part of their branding initiative to get each channel to have consistent programming. FXX is comedy, FX is drama type shit, FS1 is sports. Considering Fox Soccer and Speed were niche channels, converting them into broader channels and at least getting everything consistent is a smart move IMO. I think they're running the risk of cannibalizing their audience with Sunny/The League going up against TUF, but I'd be willing to bet that they're putting more stock into +3/7 numbers with programming available on Comcast ondemand right away, as opposed to a week later (which drove me up the wall last year)

  7. And they're up.

Why is the western tip of Texas watching Tennessee @ Pittsburgh instead of the national Cincinnati/Chicago game?

Doing a quick glance at rosters, the only thing I can come up with is that the Steelers have two players from UTEP. Seriously.

  8. I don't think a guy like Esix Snead is a great comp for Hamilton, because Snead *never* hit and was consistently older than Hamilton at the same levels. If he can at least play an above average center field (which, after the position switch last fall, is still a question) with his speed, dude can at least be a regular. Even something like his line in 2011 at Dayton (.278/.340/.360) would be enough. Shit, look at Andrelton Simmons. Dude is hitting .249/.295/.380 and is a four win player because of just how amazing he is on defense. When you've got a plus-plus skill like Hamilton or Simmons, you don't just punt.

  9.

This thread is now about voice mail security options.

No kidding.  If you guys are going to nit-pick about phone details, you should at least have brought up not only how ridiculously easy it was to find a pay phone, but how Jesse actually knew Walt's number by heart.  I know the show doesn't take place in the "present," but I don't think I've actually memorized anyone's phone number since 2002.

Honestly, how many burners has Jesse probably gone through in the last year?

  10. Celebrated my one year diet anniversary (or as I'm calling it, the never ending quest to get in shape) last Tuesday. Down 55 pounds since...still have 45 to go. Dropped something like ten inches off of my waist too.

Also, the DDP Yoga "below the belt" workout is torture. By the last ten minutes, I'm dripping sweat.

  11. What blows my mind isn't a mid-week show and then a PPV, it's shit like this.

Fight Night 31: Fight for the Troops 3. 11/6/2013

Fight Night 32: Belfort vs Henderson. 11/9/2013

Two network shows in a week, one of which has two fights announced two months away. That's a big much.

re: prelims, they've really always been for the diehards and people wanting a shitload of MMA. If you skip the two hour prelim block this Wednesday, all you're missing is four fights featuring (I believe) eight Brazilians that aren't exactly household names. The only live sport on Wednesday nights in the late summer/early fall in baseball, so they're just throwing shit at the wall for a guaranteed ratings spike. I'd imagine they'd scale back after Thanksgiving when college hoops are back, but who in the hell knows?
