Hasn't every best-of-seven series in wrestling history resulted in the babyface going down 3-0 and rallying to force a seventh match?
-
I can't say I'm thrilled that WWE has become a company where a guy with a surgically repaired neck kicks out of a Burning Hammer and a half and half suplex on the floor is a throwaway spot on a holiday show.

That Slater/Rhyno segment was like an episode of Trailer Park Boys (which would be a great tag team name for them also).
If the tag team tournament doesn't work out for Slater, he can try to come back under a mask.
"Heath Slater? Who's Heath Slater? I'm the fuckin' Green Bastard, parts unknown baby!"

The double noggin knocker is about as pure a face move as exists.

"Die Kevin die!" "Why won't you just die?!" screams optional.
Vive la race!
Then he and Jericho can have a feud during which he reveals that he's Ash's real father.

I paid tribute to Fuji by killing my neighbor's dog and feeding it to him.

Against my better judgment, I did a Google image search for "taped fish." Behold:
SpoilerHow would a taped fish match work? Would you have to ram your opponent's fish into all four corners?

Just for the record, the Sport Shop theme is Leper Messiah.
-
Who was the first wrestler to put tape on his fists like a boxer? My guess would be Abdullah or Terry Funk.
-
Verne Gagne did that as well.
-
Wait, isn't Bryan competing in weightlifting competitions now? You kind of need your arms for those.
-
I propose the following rule: if you throw punches like Dolph Ziggler, you're not allowed to tape your fists.

Of the four, Reigns is probably the best (or at least the least bad) option. Raw has more strong heel challengers than babyface ones, and Cass is obviously nowhere near ready.

It's the Christian paradox. His character works better as a heel but his ringwork is better as a face. There's been other examples but that's a super notable one.
That's how I've felt about CM Punk for the past few years.

I'm pretty sure Brock busting Orton open with elbows was a planned spot. He did the same thing to Cena in the Extreme Rules match.

Like, seriously, other contenders for top 5 tag team in WWF/E history, based on ring work....
The Rockers (Clear and Far Away No.1)
MNM (They ruled)
Hardy Boys (Been in enough classics to be in the discussion)
London and Kendrick (Only a one year run, but it was great)
Rhodes Brothers (Another short run, but it was great)
Anyone else wanna throw in some names?
Hart Foundation? British Bulldogs? Dream Team? Brainbusters?

I'm prepared to say that Cena is the worst big match worker in the company, if not all of wrestling. He's become Davey Richards in jorts.
The truth is, WWE main event style has become unsustainable. The only way they have of keeping the audience's attention outside of reversals and kick-outs of finishers is with holy-shit spots, so you end up with injuries like Sasha's tonight. They need to figure out a way to put the genie back in the bottle.

Does a wrestling company need a valid business license to operate? If so, this might be an issue.
-
Brock's definitely going over at Summerslam, right? If Orton had a chance, they would have saved the RKO for the PPV.
-
Let's not be too hard on this guy. At least he recognized that El Hijo del Santo is almost as good a second-generation wrestler as Randy Orton.

Don't worry guys, they love to humiliate Dolph so he'll probably lose the title shot to MVP before SummerSlam.
I could actually see them doing this, except with Shelton Benjamin.

I really could've done without the mental image of Miz being pegged by Maryse.

Some good things, but what am I looking for specifically.
Charlotte and Becky Lynch in bikinis, I'm assuming. And Seth Rollins, if you're into that sort of thing.

Initial thoughts on LBOA:
-That cage Ellering was suspended in looked really rickety. I would've been terrified if I was in that thing.
-One huge pet peeve of mine is when a match between guys who are in a blood feud begins with a lockup. I didn't like it in Magnum/Tully, and I didn't like it here.
-I also wasn't a huge fan of Sawyer working an armbar in the opening minutes. But Rich breaks it by going low and from that point on, it's basically all punches and ramming each other's heads into the cage, which is exactly what I want from a match like this.
-I liked how they started a ten-count whenever both guys were laid out. It got over the brutality of the match while forcing them to keep things moving. In fact, I totally would've bought passing out from blood loss as a finish because they both bled buckets.
-I was a bit worried when I saw that the video was 28:53. Matches like this shouldn't be anywhere near that long. So I was pleasantly surprised when the match ended at 13:00 (the rest of the video is Ole/Ellering which took place immediately afterward). It ended up being the perfect length.
-Really good match overall. On first blush, I'd rank it behind Duggan/DiBiase among 80s cage matches but ahead of Final Conflict, Magnum/Tully, and Lawler/Idol.
