Seeing Stan Hansen in this has me wishing they'd drop "The Dark Side" nonsense and do episodes on people like Hansen, his career was super interesting and he's always a good interview.
I totally agree. At this point, it's time just to tell INTERESTING stories instead of lurid ones. The well is running dry.

Bald Mark Briscoe smacking Ricochet for being bald is top tier comedy and I won't hear otherwise.
I actually got a bigger kick out of Mark asking the team what they'd spend their share of the 400K on and Speedball excitedly shouts, "SHOES"

That promo by Ospreay/Bailey/Knight/Briscoe was a green screen thing, right?

There's no question that Tony is carny enough to have legit given the eight-man winners the money, right?

Scary fall for Jaylen Wells in Charlotte. People really need to stop trying to contest layups/dunks when they have zero chance of actually blocking the shot. Also the first NBA game I've ever witnessed where they had to wait to resume the game because the player had to be taken to the hospital, so they have to wait for a replacement ambulance to come.
Wells caught an outlet pass from Ja Morant and went up to dunk the ball, when the Hornets' KJ Simpson inadvertently undercut him after trying to catch up to the play. The contact caused Wells to lose his balance while in the air and land awkwardly on his side as his head slammed against the court near the baseline.
"It's tough. I threw the pass and turned around and was doing our little touchdown celebration. When I got there, the first thing I saw was blood, and I've got a weak stomach," Morant said. "We've just got to stay with him and keep praying for him. It's next man up. Obviously that hurts. Guys will just have to be ready."
Probably shouldn't shoot anyone if you've got a weak stomach, Ja.

Oba/Trick/Je'Von vs. Darkstate (Shugars/Cutler/Lennox) was pretty solid. Dug that Shugars and Cutler got in most of the time for the team since they were the more unknown factors. Thought both mostly looked good despite some off moments. There is definitely a bit of wildness to the group that is neat though that also sometimes slips into the more sloppy/off side execution wise. Hopefully they can get things more together with a little more time and practice. Otherwise I can easily see them hurting someone or themselves.
There were some sloppy moments early to mid-match for sure, but the timing by Shugars and Evans on that rope pull and slip that led to the finish was pretty much perfect. That sequence looked great.

(The Radio broadcast also had all sorts of problems but I am not sure that was a stadium issue or something else)
I was trying to listen on the MLB app but it would randomly jump to some sports talk that seemed to be national and not a local show. I had assumed it was a WSCR thing at first since I was listening to the Cubs feed but the same thing was happening when I switched to the A's feed, and their announcers acknowledged an issue when the game came back. Very weird.

It was a formality at this point - but the Rays stadium agreement with Tampa is officially dead as the offer expired at midnight, March 31 and the Rays didn't submit any documentation to move forward with the agreement
So basically the Rays are free to negotiate with any city to play their games in after the 2028 season (the current agreement with the city and team was set to expire in 2027 but it gets extended one year for every year the team doesn't play in the Trop hence why its now after the 2028 season)
Obviously MLB is gonna have a HUGE say in the future of the team since Manfred keeps insisting that MLB wants a team in Tampa
The Rays should have released an April Fool's agreement announcement just to troll everyone.

The main event was pretty sloppy and contrived. That spot on the floor stunk, it was followed by another flub in the ring, and the ref bump spot was terrible.
That poisonrana spot on the floor could have gone so poorly for both people. I think it was meant to be snuck out of, just not botched to that extent.

When I was living outside of Portland I couldn’t believe how many people fondly remembered it and would bring up names like Piper Dutch Savage Buddy Rose Snuka Ventura etc.
I have a coworker from up that way who heard me make a Buddy Rose reference years ago and immediately started talking about Don Owen and Portland Wrestling.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before but it really makes it hard to take Hank and Tank seriously when they look so much like WCW-era Public Enemy. Maybe that's intentional.

Might that be more like Mania week where they're just taking advantage of proximal fans rather than trying to cut into AEW's business?

It’s weird how he still hasn’t found the time to work out with or, more importantly, apparently, post pics with, the young men of NXT. Maybe next week.
It definitely hasn't been as prolific as the pictures with Cora and Roxanne but I at least remember him taking some photos with Trick.

Bron doesn't seem to have much of a sense of humor.

For as excited as I get about going to Orioles games there's something sublime about driving 15 minutes with family and friends to see the Aberdeen Ironbirds play. It's cheaper, a lot more chill and you can pretty much sit wherever you want in case the sun is too much for some. Plus you can't beat a baseball bat cup full of lots of soda that makes you feel like a king holding a scepter. They say you can use that once empty to put beer in it but I'd rather not go crazy with alcohol at games.
And on a wrestling note TNA once had a show there. It didn't have many people but it was fun enough and of course somebody ran the bases mid-match. I remember Earl Hebner was a bit of a dick signing shirts and there was a surprisingly long line to meet Austin Aries.
My only ballpark rasslin show featured Honky Tonk Man squashing someone and a main event with like 8 face/heel turns in a one-on-one match.

The other day I was watching some Memphis from 1989 and on the show you have PHIL HICKERSON and SHINYA HASHIMOTO in the same stable.
You also get Del Wilkes making his debut as the DREAM WEAVER (yes, guess what he comes out to), Master of Pain aka Mark Calaway looking like a freakish version of a grown Opie Griffith, a freshly turned heel Rock N Roll Express, and Scott Steiner who already looks like a main event star as 1/2 of a jobber tag team against the Stud Stable consisting of future WCW jobber extraordinaire/territory journeyman Frankie Lancaster and Jimmy Golden four years away from being Bunkhouse Buck.
It was one hell of a show honestly. Tojo Yamamoto's selling of Dream Weaver's sleeper is a must see. I have seen videos of people being hit with tasers where there is less animation.
I never had a source for Memphis when I was growing up outside of what I'd see every once in a while on PWTW when I'd stay with my grandparents. I had to imagine all of this crazy stuff just from reading the Apter mags.
Watching the videos as an adult, I am not let down.

I'm more disappointed in him drowning his own legacy, in a way, because Down was just fine, his guitar playing in Necrophagia was good, and more than anything the Housecore Horror fest seems pretty cool. It also makes me feel for associated bands, specifically Eyehategod, that are probably friends with him and just shrug if ever approached about his drunken idiocy. The brothers were great musicians and their demises were terrible but I never cared for Pantera. Besides "Cemetery Gates", that song rules.
Man, I remember seeing Cemetery Gates for the first time on Headbanger's Ball and just becoming obsessed with Cowboys from Hell.

Anyone else watch Evolve on Tubi? I thought it was pretty good.
It was definitely a fun option with some room to grow. The little character notes they'd pop up (SWIPE RIGHT LIKES TO HANG OUT WITH THE LADIES) were rather annoying but you have to start somewhere with the presentation. I was very happy that they didn't act like any of these people started their career with episode 1 of EVOLVE - leaving names (for the most part) untouched and acknowledging their histories was a really fresh take.
