  1. Impact peaked with the super-green video package that opened the show with Dixie as the wicked witch of the west. None of the matches were particularly good, and a lot of bizarre and illogical things happened. Oh, and the big invasion is over in two weeks. Hell of a run.

  2. The opening Sting promo was one of the worst of the year in terms of its message. HHH IS THE KING OF KINGS, STING IS GRATEFUL FOR HAVING HIS ASS BEATEN AND THEN HAVING HIS HAND SHAKEN, and oh yeah, the WWE Champion isn't half the man HHH is.

Dolph and Rusev had a nothing match that peaked with the post-match upskirt of Lana. Dolph took a shower and Summer invaded the room - so Dolph apparently just doesn't care about folks walking in on him showering. Divas revolution bullshit with this beat the clock challenge. It BEGAN with a 3:21 match, so this revolution is worth about 10 minutes of airtime on this 3+ long hour show. Becky won.

Braun-Dean wasn't much, while Cesaro-Owens was good, it was hurt by the commentary just not caring about it at all and not feeling special. Everything with the Dolph-Lana stuff sucked, as she's angry over him...clearly being set up by the heels and looks like an idiot. Speaking of which, Paige lost the BTC challenge when she should've won by DQ. Dudleys had a super-fun match with New Day, and then Seth was put in his place by Steph. Beyond just being completely responsible for the women's revolution, she'll be responsible for whipping him into shape. And she made Cena-Seth for the U.S. Title - so Seth, the heel, is defending his title against the odds and WWE is outright copying ROH's Jay Lethal run - well, it's a good idea, so why not.

  3. Hardys-EC3 stuff sucked at the beginning and then the ERIC YOUNG THE BADASS video didn't exactly help matters. EY-Melendez sucked. Uno did what he does best - have a match that made no waves or memorable impression on the audience while retaining a title no one cares about. Tag title match wasn't much - although everything with Manik was good. Brooke vs. Velvet was okay, I guess. Lots of Brooke's ass. Can't go wrong with the cheesecake video either, and Rebel joining the Dollhouse is a good move. She still gets to be on TV, and Crazzy Steve doesn't.

The main event talking segment was something else. We got Dixie Carter giving a lecture on running a successful business, Jeff Jarrett saying that hard work made TNA successful in the past (but not the present), DETECTIVE DREW GALLOWAY using his criminology degree to logically solve a case in pro wrestling, and then the GFW roster beating down TNA's roster of goobers to close the show.

  4.

Have you tried the Wayback Machine over at archive.org? Just a thought. It's time-intensive to go through all that stuff, but sometimes you'll strike gold.

What's the deal with the Wrestler Of The Day thread? If you just got tired of doing it, I don't blame you; maybe pass it on to someone else?

I'm not hardly so arrogant that I'd try the wayback machine to just get my own ridiculous post back

(yeah, I've tried a few times. It's too deep in.)

I've tried doing that to get old Impact screens back - it's sadly never worked out.

  5. The Heyman-Brock opening was among the best in years. Heyman cut yet another career-best promo that made the finish out to be excellent, and Brock was put over huge as the face here. Loved Brock killing Bo. Poor Bo - but this was the peak of his career. Then we got the funniest New Day stuff ever with singing and a trombone before THE DUDLEYS CAME BACK! Such a fun hour - and it got even better with the debut of the new giant Wyatt Family guy just KILLING THE SHIELD GUYS. Crazy - but hey, at least they started him off strong.

Everything involving the "Divas Revolution" sucked. Miz TV and the match were just awful. Rest of the show wasn't all that special. All of the statue stuff was hurt by them paying it off a bit backstage and then doing all the hype AFTER THAT. Then they had the Cena-Stewart stuff, which was good, followed by the awful Steph-Cena stuff and Steph just taking the show over to give Vince more credit on-air. Sting's return ruled, as he was in great shape, moved around quickly and got to hold the WWE Title high - easily the peak of his WWE run so far.

  6. This wasn't as good as Takeover, but still well-worth watching. Taker-Brock was far better than the WM match, and even better than I was expecting going in with Taker looking so good this year at WM. Hopefully he didn't hurt himself on the F5 through the table, because he had his working shoes on and really needs to be as healthy as possible at this age.

  7. ROH was another fun show. Dalton remains THE greatest opening match guy ever for a show broadcast at insane times since he keeps you alert. Silas is a perfect foil, and the world's youngest 55 year old man played his part well here. The Boys stip is wacky, but should make for a fun match. Moose continued to look strong, we got a bit more with Lethal, and the Bucks turned face in ROH (like they weren't be default anyway) thanks to the KRD attack. Great way to spend an hour.

  8. Anderson vs. Bram was far better than expected, and PJ Black shined a lot in defeat. EC3 really feels like an IC-level guy who happens to have a World title. Probably doesn't help that he's facing Justin Gabriel and Matt Hardy either. Gail vs. Dolls was fine, but man did she come off as heelish for the Taryn attack. Mr. WWE and relatively new TNA guy Josh's outrage over these damned GFW guys remains hilarious, and now they've got both Josh and Pope alternating between heel and face depending on the segment. What an era for announce teams we have now.

  9. Super-fun show tonight. It wasn't an amazing night of wrestling, but it was effective at building up the big matches...except for Cena-Seth. I don't care all that much about it, but I should - and they've hurt it by making Cena a cocky asshole before the match. Seth is hurt by wanting to win to please Mom and Dad. BROCK'S HOMECOMING RULED! We got Heyman singing and some amazing Brock faces from this whole deal.

  10. Pretty good show overall - not amazing, but it felt like they've at least settled Cesaro into that Finlay high mid-card/low-end main eventer role. Enjoyed the Ryback-Miz stuff with Bryan and Show - shame they kinda wasted Bryan, but whatever - they'll be doing a lot more of that. Speaking of which, NO STING in the Shield vs. Wyatts match sucks. Bray's a cult leader - have him bring in SOMEONE NEW. Amell was new, and awesome doing a hop over the ropes and a spear - Arrow threw a better one than Edge.

Rusev stuff was all great. Rusev having his own flag is a perfect heel move, and Summer doing the camel clutch led to a hilarious visual. Main event was a match - hurt by it being a rushed match in concept and in execution. The fake tease has been done WAY too much, and they've added so many rules that the whole "OH MY GOD, HE'S CASHING IN" thing means nothing. He's cashing in...if the other guy is awake, the bell has rung, yada yada yada.

  11. Didn't see a spoiler thread for this show.

Impact had a pair of excellent matches in Aries-Spud and EC3-Hardy. Oh, and Bully Ray was mysteriously beaten up and has been replaced by Jeff Jarrett. Well, for one week - out of the kindness of his heart and as thanks to Dixie for the HOF spot. Great show overall, although Bram-Anderson can be skipped.

  12. The Piper tribute stuff was glorious - the video was especially good. Neville vs. Seth got quite great - not a classic, but damned if they didn't possibly make a star in Neville here with the near-falls. 8-man tag had some fun lines on commentary, but nothing in the ring. Divas tag had nothing on commentary that was good, but did have some awful lines from each guy. Charlotte beating Nikki was a good move. Rusev beat Henry and Barrett squashed Ryder.

Heyman then cut one of his best promos ever calling Taker-Brock too big for WrestleMania, saying that Taker will need Last Rites afterwards and then ACTUALLY READING HIM HIS LAST RITES. This was so great. Paige-Naomi was a match. Main event 6-man tag was fun for the last five or so minutes - first half or so was boring though. Great show overall though - first two hours were well worth the time.
