  1. Don't worry, soon enough Meltzer will grace us with some more "news" about how they don't have any networks lined up, or that the deal with Velocity fell through, or whatever. And parasites like Cool Arrow, Nate, Greenbat, and the rest will run to this thread and piss on the empty grave some more. And then those things won't happen and it'll go quite again.

It'll pretty much keep going round and round like it has since 2002. Its really quite predictable.

  2. A) I'm not a wrestling "journalist" who this board seems to bow at the feet of. So yeah, apples n oranges.

B ) deflecting the subject to a fake twitter account says a lot.

I've never had a twitter account. If there is a means out there to prove that, I'd be glad to. Otherwise, you guys can continue I have your fun.

And think about it--I've been having this arguments on here for YEARS. Why would I delete the thing? Especially now, when its obvious how much of a hack Meltzer. I'd be going twitter crazy right now.

  3.

I'd be more trusting of Dave if his newsletter didn't read like a 5th grade English paper. And, of course, if his TNA stuff was ever accurate.

I'll trust Meltzer 1000x over - for all the times he's been right moreover than he's been wrong - before I would take the word of some arbitrarily contentious asshole on a message board* shouting, "Nuh UH."

    *But not Twitter. Never Twitter.

Personal attacks? Is that ban-worthy? If not, it should be.

And my posts are pretty tame, considering the nonsense peddled by other people, such as yourself.

May be the last Bound for Glory ever.

  5. I'm kinda late to the conversation, but I think our Meltzer basher is forgetting that even on the level of reporting about wrestling, reporting evolves over time.

Let's say Meltzer talks to someone in the company, and maybe as far as that person knows, it's get a new deal with Spike or they're screwed.

Later on he talks with someone else in the company, maybe higher up the food chain, who says "no, we were talking with this rinky-dink network no one has, too."

Meltzer should at least point out that his reports that Spike was the only suitor (he's a suitor! He's bonafide!) were incorrect upon him getting new information. Maybe the first guy was lying to him, but Meltzer can't burn a bridge by calling the first guy a liar.

Look, until Meltzer's work actually appears in the New York Times, he can't be treated by the same standards as the New York Times. The Meltzer hate kills me, it's completely undeserved.

Ok, so we shouldn't hold him to any kind of standards what-so-ever? We should just accept everything he writes and he's credibility is immune from any kind of questioning?

Its crazy how this guy has the entire internet wrapped around his finger.

  6. Its not about a new wave and young dudes hating

him or whatever. I just turned 28 and have been on the wrestling sites for 16 years.

I knew he was full of crap when I got suckered into ordering the 1998 Survivor Series, based off of Meltzer's reporting that Shawn Michaels would be the mystery man in the world title tournament.

His history of misinformation dates back quite a while.

  7. EN090 does realize this is wrestling and most stories reported by Meltzer and that ilk are from backstage sources, so it's a crap shoot most of the time whether it's true or not and whether it actually happened. I thought we accepted these stories for what they were a long time ago. This isn't movie or sports news. Sometimes they're true, sometimes they aren't. It's.. wrestling. That's really the only explanation that you need.

That's exactly the point. They're rumors and its obvious from the way he words stuff.

Yet people come on here and talk about his "news" so matter of factly, like its the box score of a baseball game. Its crazy.

  8. Honestly, all anyone needs to do is look back through some of these old threads and see how many of these dirstsheet predictions ended up actually happening. That pretty much speaks for itself.

When there's a 51 page thread of a bunch of you guys squeeling like giddy little girls that the company was finally going to die, while the owner kept a saying that negotiations were ongoing, and it turns out that she was right, there's not much more that needs to be said.

  9. They were negotiating a sale, it appeared to be a done deal, and it fell through, it's not brain rocket science, ENO

    Proof?
Both Scherer and Meltzer reported it. Bob wanted Dixie kept as a figurehead.
LOL of course. The guy that got it wrong in the first place, trying to cover his ass. Sorry, thats not proof. Any offlcial comments from anyone? Toby Keith ever comment on it? Jeff Jarrett? The only official comment on the matter was from Janice Carter, who said that the company was not being sold. And the company was not sold.

So the people who have legit credentials for decades can't be trusted, but the people who lied to their partners about Vince Russo being employed are of course beyond reproach.

I didn't know Janice carter lied about Vince Russo.

What I do know is that she sent out a memo right at the beginning of the rumor mongerinf, denying that they were being sold, and she turned out to be right while Meltzer turned out to be wrong.

I know you don't want to hear that because it doesn't fit your narrative but its a fact.

  10. - TMZ reports they were told by Sinn Bodhi, who has been with Jake Roberts in Las Vegas, that Jake visited a doctor two weeks ago and was told he had the flu. Doctors also told Jake he needed to rest.

Bodhi told TMZ that Jake's been in pain since then but didn't think it was a big deal because of the prognosis.

Roberts is currently in ICU at a Las Vegas hospital and his immune system is in bad shape. Doctors are letting Jake rest for a few days as they take more tests.

Bodhi told TMZ: "Right now, we're all just staying positive."

Not good. Wonder what it could be.

You're going about this all wrong.

To EN090: what proof are you willing to accept?

Umm, I'd settle for something he reports actually happening.
